In an attempt to raise awareness about the declining population of Great White sharks, Jessica Alba pasted up posters in Oklahoma City of the sea creatures. The actress was caught on camera and is now being investigated by police for vandalism.

According to an Oklahoma City spokesperson, the damage is estimated to be between $500 and $700, which isn't enough for the actress to face jail time.

Alba has released a statement in which she apologized to the United Way and Oklahoma City. Jessica explains, "I got involved in something I should have had no part of. I realize that I should have used better judgment, and I regret not thinking things through before I made a spontaneous and ill-advised decision to let myself get involved with the people behind this campaign."

And that's why you don't hang up posters.

    Maybe it's just the way this article is written but I find myself not understanding...

    Surely raising awareness (about the declining population of Great White sharks) is a good thing? Why is Alba, after attempting to raise awareness herself, saying she should not have got involved?
    Yes she vandalized (she should have put the posters up legally), but that's the only problem I can see here unless her statement has been taken out of context.
    Unless the 'people' were up to something dodgy which has not been mentioned here?

    Also, concerning damages realted to her vandalism, I find it strange that just Paper and Paste could cause $500-$700 worth of damage, or is that her fine?

    This smells fishy to me, unless I or the media have simply misunderstood something...
