"Gigantic," the quirky, offbeat comedy starring Zooey Deschanel (Yes Man, 500 Days of Summer) and Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine, There Will Be Blood), debuts on DVD August 11 from Vivendi Entertainment. The cast also includes ten-time Emmy® Award nominee John Goodman (TV’s “Roseanne”), seven-time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner (Up, TV’s “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “Lou Grant,”), four-time Academy Award® nominee Jane Alexander (The Great White Hope, All the President’s Men, Kramer vs. Kramer, Testament), and Zach Galafiniakis (The Hangover).
The funny, surreal love story about the anxiety that comes when two people with crazy families unexpectedly collide won the Grand Jury Prize for Narrative Feature at AFI Dallas and was an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Newport Beach Film Festival, and the GenArt (NY) Film Festival. The bonus features include an alternate ending, deleted scenes, and commentary by director Matt Aselton. The DVD will be available for $26.99 SRP.

Synopsis:
Mattress salesman, Brian Weathersby (Paul Dano) gets swept up in a romance with the lovely but misguided Harriet Lolly (Zooey Deschanel) when she comes in to his store one day and falls asleep on one of the beds. To win her over, he must compete with her bear of a father, Al Lolly, (John Goodman) an art-collecting loudmouth with a bad back and deep pockets.
