Kristen Johnston Slides Into Paula Abdul's Place on "Ugly Betty"

It looks as though Paula Abdul has been scooted off of yet another TV show.
According to EW.com, the producers of "Ugly Betty" have hired Kristen Johnston to replace Abdul in the role of Helen, an office temp at the show's fictional Mode magazine. EW hints that Abdul, who was in negotiations to play the now-recurring character, made a few too many outrageous demands (ahem, private jet?) to secure a deal with "Betty."

Johnston, who won an Emmy for her work on "3rd Rock From the Sun," will appear on the show's premiere on October 9.
"I've always considered myself a poor man's Paula Abdul," she mused.
Honestly, Paula, we'd much prefer to see you on another season of "Hey Paula." We like our Abdul served candid with a healthy portion of kooky.
