Back in December, we reported that Oscar-winning screenwriter Roger Avary was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter. Prosecutors alleged that the author of such hits as "Pulp Fiction" and "Beowulf" was driving drunk when he killed a passenger and injured his wife in a car crash.
At the time, he pleaded not guilty, but the NY Times is now reporting that Avary changed his plea to guilty and is now awaiting his sentence on September 29th. He currently remains free on bail, but could get as much as eleven years in jail.
The car accident took place on January 13th, 2008. Avary was at the wheel of a Mercedes sedan late that night when failed to make a curve and crashed into a telephone pole. His wife was ejected from the vehicle and the other passenger was killed in the collision.
