Chace Crawford 'comforted Swift at VMAs'

Chace Crawford comforted Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs after Kanye West's awards rant, say reports.

According to Us magazine, the Gossip Girl star, 24, gave Swift a cuddle after he spotted her backstage at the event in New York.

"I'm so proud of you," he reportedly said. "Don't let anyone ever take your spotlight ever again."

A source added: "[Crawford is] like an older brother type and is very protective over her."

West has made numerous apologies to Swift about his stage invasion during her acceptance speech for best female video.
