Love Happens" Being Sued for $100 Million

Universal Pictures' romantic comedy "Love Happens," starring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart, faces being pulled from theaters because screenwriters Greg Crowder and Tony Freitas have filed a lawsuit against NBC Universal.

The pair claim that they showed a script titled "The Truth" to Universal back in 2006. They met with the vice president of production several times to discuss a deal, but nothing was finalized despite the studio's interest.

The writers then tried to sell their script to another studio earlier this year, but were told that they had stolen the idea from Aniston's latest movie. This is when they found out that Universal pushed forward with their proposed film without their involvement.

Crowder and Freitas have asked for the release of "Love Happens" to be stopped from its planned opening today or $100 million in profits.
