The World's Greatest Dad star wasn't living up to the title of his new movie when he invited the 20-year-old actress to the premiere without mentioning the scene where he strips off and dives into a pool.
He revealed: "My daughter was at the premiere. She came up and said, 'Thanks for telling me, dad'.
"She's 20 now and she was like, 'Thanks for giving me a heads up about the nude scene!'"
The 58-year-old actor also admitted that the scene was his own idea.
"Actually it was mine," he said.
"I thought, 'It's at the end of the movie, where this guy is having a catharsis... he's getting rid of everything, why not go nude.
"I dive into a pool and, coming up, it's almost like a rebirth. It's a strange thing and, in a weird way, it worked."
Having shocked his daughter, he is now hoping she won't turn the tables and get naked for a film role.
"I think I'd be like, 'Stop! Turn that off!'" he confessed. "That's when hypocrisy comes up and goes, 'Payback's a b**ch!'"
