Director Robert Rodriguez's adaptation of comic creator Frank Miller's Sin City line of graphic novels may have been snubbed by the Academy, but it won 16 other critical awards, including the Technical Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and earned nearly $159 million at the box office, making it a prime candidate for a sequel.
