Gossip Cop tackles Demi & Ashton trouble

In a piece Perez Hilton titled, “Trouble for Ashton & Demi,” the blogger questioned – without fact-checking – whether there “Could there be trouble in paradise for Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore?”
Why?
Because at the 2009 Freedom Awards, held in Los Angeles on Tuesday, he wrote, “not all seemed well with the couple. Not to mention they totally dissed the press!” Hmm… could the fact that Kutcher and Moore didn’t speak to the press have colored the coverage of the couple?
Possibly.
Instead of actually reporting, Perez simply took a local Los Angeles TV reporter’s vague tweets to cause controversy.
Fox 11 reporter Gigi Garciette, who was working the event, tweeted, “Wanted to ask @aplusk + @mrskutcher about their foundation for newscast tonite but they didn’t talk to press. Sigh.”
She then tweeted, “Fact that tonite’s headliners Demi+Ashton did NOT talk about important cause killed my story. I don’t understand celebs. Double sigh.”
According to Perez, she then tweeted, “La famosa pareja Demi – Ashton no se veian muy contentos esta noche. Algo vi. Espero estar equivocada,” which he translates into “The famous couple Demi – Ashton didn’t seem too happy tonight. I saw something. Though I hope I’m wrong.”
Unfortunately, that tweet cannot be verified because it has been pulled down.
We don’t know what that “something” Garciette saw — or even whether it related to Kutcher and Moore — but we do have friends who were at the event, and they didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. One even passed the couple on the red carpet, and noted, “they looked sweet.” (In fact, check out our still, just one picture of the two looking happy together from that evening.)
Gossip Cop reached out to Garciette for further clarification, but she did not get back to us.
Though Hilton claims there’s “trouble,” by all accounts there aren’t any major issues. Additionally, Moore’s rep tells Gossip Cop that talk of strife is “false.”
