With a career spanning over five decades, Bill Hunter is widely regarded as one of Australia’s acting “legends”. He has been a prolific television, film and stage actor since the early sixties and his popularity amongst the general public and film industry alike has grown to almost National Treasure status. Bill has starred in over fifty feature films, of which his most notable movie roles include GALLIPOLI, SCALES OF JUSTICE, FRONTLINE, NEWSFRONT, STRICTLY BALLROOM, MURIEL’S WEDDING and THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT. He has been awarded seven AFI awards for his Film and Television performances and among many other accolades was given The Centenary Medal for Service to Acting in 2003.
In 2003, Bill also provided the voice of the dentist in FINDING NEMO and in 2007 returned to his film role in the musical theatre smash hit THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT. In THE SQUARE, Bill plays Ray’s boss, Gil Hubbard. - Actor/Actress/Director: Bill Hunter
