    ''It's about how dysfunctional all of our families are,'' Justin Timberlake says of the 2009 film The Open Road. He stars as a ballplayer driving cross-country to find his estranged dad (Jeff Bridges). Speaking of dysfunction, he's traveling with his ex (Kate Mara), and they ''still have a thing for each other.'' So that explains the bickering.

    What attracted him to this Road trip? ''There are things you say and go, 'Oh, my God, I sound just like my mother!' I did this film because it's about that: the little things that make you who you are.''
