Stacey Dash, born to West Indian and Aztec Indian parents, is a native of the Bronx, New York. At an early age, she knew she wanted to become an actress. She made her television-acting debut on The Cosby Show (1984), as she appeared on a regular basis. In addition, she had a role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990), as well as St. Elsewhere (1982).
At the ripe age of 22, she made her feature film debut in Moving (1988), playing Richard Pryor’s disobedient teenage daughter. Four years later, she was cast in Mo’ Money (1992), alongside Damon Wayans. Two years later, she starred with Mark Wahlberg and Danny DeVito in Renaissance Man (1994). Then in 1995, she did the provocative erotic thriller Illegal in Blue (1995). During the same year, Stacey landed the role of Dionne, in the classic comedy Clueless (1995). Playing Dionne brought her fame as well as a UPN television sitcom role based on the film, in which she starred as Dionne, once again. During that time, she completed Oliver Stone’s, Cold Around the Heart (1997), as well as the independent film Personals (1998) directed by Mike Sargent.
Dash’s recent projects include, The Painting (2002) and Paper Soldiers (2002). Although, Stacey’s latest project is a lead role in an innovative Hip- Hop Western entitled Gang of Roses (2003) set for release in fall 2003 - Actor/Actress/Director: Stacey Dash ( photos )
