Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen An overly-long, bloated, very pretty mess. I'm looking forward to the DVD release, where i'm expecting to see a 'special feature' where you can insert a plot. There were some funny moments throughout, but far too many "jar-jar" ones which did the film a truck-load of harm. The funniest thing about it was, we were seated next to two U.S. Navy Sailors in the theatre, who, upon leaving the screening, were completely ripping the Military aspects of it to shreads. It was hilarious. If you enjoyed the first one, you'll like this, however, for me, the best bit of the Transformers 1 was Steve Jablonsky's score, which is again, my favourite aspect of this sequel - that's saying something. fb628398153 Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Let's begin by saying that "Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen" is solid entertainment from start to finish. With that, I have to say the story was far from flawless. For starters, to include a premise that the government has entered into a partnership with the Autobots but has kept it secret from the public is...well, quite frankly, stupid. The first film's climactic fight in L.A. (OK, Mission City...L.A. isn't a one hour drive from Hoover Dam, now is it?) was seen by thousands of people, as was the opening battle in this one. Not to mention the hundreds of millions of dollars in damages. How does any government keep that under wraps? And what was the deal with the "human" Decepticon? Huh??? And I thought Bumblebee's voicebox was repaired at the end of the first movie. So why can't he speak now? And can't the piece of Allspark that Mikaela has bring Optimus Prime back to life instead of trekking all the way to Egypt to...well, I lost track of the plot by that point. Maybe the biggest problem I had was in the actual "transforming" of the robots. In the first movie the special effects were drop-jaw amazing. In this one it was more like "been there, done that." I guess after being blown away by the first "Transformers" I had bigger expectations for the second one. It's not a huge loss for me, though; I was getting tired of nitpicking all the plotholes and points of idiocy in "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" so this gives me new fodder. Here's to hoping the third installment will be better. fb1639178108 May 27, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Less than meets the eye. Visually and sonically stunning! But the storyline alternated between implausible, baffling and cliched. At times I even got bored. That said, there was one laugh out loud piece of slapstick (that didn't involve a single transformer), and a pretty good battle scene with Optimus. When not trying to dazzle us with special effects, Bay relies on cleavage to distract at least half of the audience from the absense of plot and good acting. Not subtle at all about that! It was almost as annoying as the characters who play Sam's parents. They were a waste of screen time. Bay's not the only culprit, however. Steven Spielberg was the producer. Incidentally, he also produced the recent Indiana Jones atrocity. Only the Dinobots can save the fate of this franchise. At least you don't expect their dialogue to be very sophisticated. fb537066046 Jul 5, 2009
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) Though out the ice age movies were funny, fun, and realistic. When i watch this movie about three years later is still fun and fun never stops with the dinosaurs is unlike the movie from Land before time.Like i said the cartoon movie never stops none less they still had good movies.Remember the song is **** YOU NEVER FIND***** fb1298171991 May 8, 2009
Kambakkht Ishq (Incredible Love) I enjoyed this movie very much. I'm so glad that the strike between Indian movie makers and cinemas is over. I had missed my Hindi movies! This movie was very stylish. The acting by Akshay and Kareena was really good. Kareena's character Sim is such a biatch but she plays it with so much style that you can't help but like her and Akshay is just so hot and funny. Good stuff, loved the scene on the boat! I liked the story although I thought a couple of scenes in the movie were better off ommited. I mean I love seeing Hollywood and Bollywood come together but was the Sylvester Stallone action sequence near the end necessary. It just seemed out of place, a little hard to believe, and an obvious ploy to get him doing an action scene in the movie when there was no need for him to do so. All that aside, the movie looks great. I loved seeing places where I usually frequent like Hollywood (but not when they were there so I could see them. grrr. :/ ) and a place I would like to visit, Italy. The music and dance numbers were great. A very good start to the return of Hindi movies to the big screen. fb6301791 Jul 5, 2009
My Sister's Keeper THIS MOVIE WAS A TEAR JERKER FROM BEGINNING TO END!!! RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE WHO IS A MOTHER, DAUGHTER, SISTER!!!! fb1669707212 Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Topnotch action flick. Saw it the first time at the drive-in when I was tired. But this is a movie that should be seen in a theater with all the sound. Overall very good. Glad I watched it a second time. fb1623067649 Jul 5, 2009
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) Its definitely a good movie for kids, but there is very little appeal for adults. The animation was awesome! Blue Sky deserves more credit because they get less time to make a movie than Pixar and Dreamworks. The artists did a great job, but I hope they develop the story a little better on IA4 fb1049755543 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies I didn't like this for the same reason I didn't like Oceans 13: The camera moved way too much. It was also a bit too long, and *some* parts could/should have been taken out. Aside from the camera work, the I liked the characters and story. fb37602556 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies Michael Mann proves once again that he is one of the best American filmmakers working today. Although light on action, the story delivers as does Johhny Depp in another Oscar-worthy performance. And as in all Mann films, the visual style and camera work by cinemotographer Dante Spinotti is amazing. The look of 1930's America is captured flawlessly. With the exception of one scene toward the end (where Depp's Dillinger purposely wanders into the Chicago Police Department) there isn't a single wasted frame of film. One scene in particular where the recently sprung Dillinger waits at a red light is one of the most intense you will see all year. fb1639178108 Jul 5, 2009
My Sister's Keeper I didn't quite know what to expect, but I loved it. Very hard to watch at times, but very worth it. I felt everyone's performance was very realistic and believable. A beautiful story about a family. fb616939668 Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen i probably should not have seen it with a headache...the spinning scenes were a bit much. but overall it was decent. first one was better. queenrach182 May 20, 2009
Public Enemies It's not perfect and sometimes the DV cinematography is a little annoying, but for the most part it's a great and uncompromisingly accurate film about one of America's forgotten icons. BABY FACE NELSON DID NOT DIE AT LITTLE BOHEMIA. fb1128630586 Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen The first one was much better. The writing in this one left a lot to be desired, and I felt like the last "epic" battle was pretty underwhelming. Not the best movie of the summer. fb616939668 Feb 15, 2009
Kambakkht Ishq (Incredible Love) 4 stars only cause of Akshay. Kareena, has nothing going for her. Looks, not there, but thats my opinion, i guess everyone is entitled to theirs, just like anglar fish find each other attractive so do people who like kareena. Finally a movie that could relaunch akshays career, he was funny, witty (no i'm not ga Story was a little weak, denise richards is old, i guess she needed money thats why she decided to do this movie. stallone' fight scene was hilarious, first time i've seen a hollywood actor fight like a bollywood one. in the end i think akshay was still trying to find true love, when he told her to get in the car to elope, i bet you he was drugged again. he probably came to his senses and walked out of the chapel. who knows, there won't be a sequel. dancing, songs, was aawesome. story line could have been worked on a bit, but overall entertaining. I wish they made it more appealing to the eyes. fb509721663 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies What to make of Michael Mann's Public Enemies? Consensus seems to indicate that this is 'lesser' Mann--it is, they say, a 'genre picture.' Well, yes and no. Sure, it is about a bank robber, John Dillinger, but it is not merely a 'gangster film.' 'Gangster films' are crowdpleasers, with urban-myth heroes and razzle-dazzle shootouts; but Public Enemies lets traces of legitimate danger seep through the crossfire--Depp's Dillinger, no matter his ambitions, is not a Hollywood fantasy. He has none of our action hero traits--sure, he beds beautiful women, but he's not James Bond; there's no suavity in his pick-up lines ("Dillinger, John Dillinger"), just blunt force. It's relevant that in a film about the elaborate cunning of Public Enemy Number One, Dillinger never appears terribly elegant--he courts Cotillard like he escapes prison and he escapes prison like he robs banks, not through trickery but through the power of will and automatic weapons. Likewise, one of the most astonishing scenes in the film comes early, when Christian Bale's Melvin Purvis, the FBI's child star, guns down a fleeing Channing Tatum, as "Pretty Boy Floyd." Purvis is the man charged with reeling in the bad guys, and, in his first press conference, he flaunts his confidence in the bureau's "scientific methods" and its director's (Billy Crudup as J. Edgar) "leadership." But as this early scene shows us, this isn't really a movie of Good Guys vs. Bad Guys, Cops vs. Robbers, or Craftiness of Criminals vs. Scientific Methods of the Law; it's Guns vs. Guns. Purvis wants to arrest Floyd, and, to no avail, orders him to stop, at which point he opens fire and shoots him in the chest. Bale's expression when surveying his "catch" isn't one of relief, it's frustration. The Law is supposed to make arrests, set trials and deliver sentences--but in Public Enemies, Dillinger is arrested a handful of times and never even makes it past his arraignment before finding a way out. It's this realization--that this isn't an "investigation," but a full-scale manhunt, with two sides of men not trying to outsmart, but trying to kill the other, that drives the film beyond "genre." What's more, we're never left to side with folk legend Dillinger; yeah, sure, he wants the "bank's money" and not yours (try not to think about that conundrum too hard), but he's also not exactly likable--he delivers the lines and wears the hats, but he's no Robin Hood. And that's another important part of Mann's equation--not to, like a "genre picture" might, inflate the battle between Dillinger and Purvis to Good and Evil. Instead, it appears that both sides are equally vulnerable, and both sides are equally frightened;driven now not by different moralities but inertia; Purvis because of professional responsibility and Dillinger because he's well past the point of no return. This goes beyond one side winning and the other losing; Mann underscores several times that in order for one side to claim victory, someone is going to die; it's a sense of dread too often lost in the exaggerated bravado of "gangster film," aided here by Depp's low-key performance--he's nothing like the Cary Grant he spends his last hours admiring. And now that we've figured out that this film is less about heroes and villains as it as about the psychology of certain death, what to make of the film's flagrant factual errors? The film claims to be based on a non-fiction book, but it's dramatized in radical ways; Purvis kills Floyd and Nelson, although in reality he killed neither, and Nelson was still alive when Dillinger was killed. And why give Dillinger last words of "Rosebud" proportions? In a film that has resisted portraying Purvis as stoic lawman and Dillinger as patron saint, the exaggerations feel odd, but also reinforce the film's ideology--as Cary Grant says on-screen in Midnight Melodrama, Dillinger died as he lived, "all of a sudden," and to the film that's neither a great loss nor a social gain, simply a tragic outcome of a dead-end lifestyle. It's easy to outrun the law if you're breaking the rules, but not as easy when the law decides to break them too; it's to Mann's credit that he infuses the "gangster film" with both proper pomp--it was, truly, a social war--and also circumstance; that is, John Dillinger was shot in the head and bled out in an alleyway behind a movie theatre; something tells me he couldn't care less about your goddamn embellishments. This isn't cops and robbers, it's greed and fear; and Mann keeps the film's pulse wavering between glamour and death, until he finally has to choose sides. Dillinger claims to be too busy thinking about today to worry about tomorrow, and Mann knows what this statement means. It means that brutish philandering, fast Fords, lots of ammunition, and going where the Law won't tread all works fine, until it doesn't. fb1162290389 Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen First Transformers was much better. Sequel did not add anything to this plot. I found it difficult to follow the action scenes. Too much going on. Too mant "dry humping" scenes. Definitely not necessary. Robots personalities were obnoxious... fb1556414711 Jan 24, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Lots of explosions, not much plot. Does not compare to the first. Wait for video. Gratuitous special effects, made for added profit. fb100000031055442 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies I loved it! It's a classic gangster flick! Depp+Bale=Hottie Overloard! Aside from that, it was great! fb1193520846 Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen I'm not one for say, critiquing movies; but man... I couldnt shake the feeling that this was a shitty rehash of Transformers from last summer. 1. There's something Sam W. needs to find 2. Before the Decepticons do 3. USAF helps out Sam W secure and protect Object 4. If things arent looking good, insert Object into Optimus' Chest 5.??? 6. PROFIT!! fb780505112 Jun 16, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Honestly, I dont know what to think of you movie-goers anymore. it's like you're all too stupid to realize that your expectations should take into consideration what kind of movie you are seeing. this movie= ACTION/ADVENTURE! i mean for goodness sake it's a Bay&Spielberg teamed movie---special effects usually drive their films! (which btw was the best part of this second installment), they are NOT plot driven. i guess this could be why some were "confused" or dim-sighted when it came to the ending; it had too much plot development pushed to the end. i seriously thought the film was enjoyable ( i mean sure the last 20 minutes or so were WAY cheesy, but this also expands the audience range to more of a "Night at the Museum" plot exceptablility). If you like the first one, then go see it just to see it, because everyone's going to be talking about it...at least until the new HP film comes out...haha. Overall, it's entertainment & let's face it ppl, it's summer and most of you don't have anything better to do. fb698113202 Jan 23, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen A fast paced, dizzying pile of nonsense. Long and painful movie about machines crashing into each other. After a while, you lose interest trying to keep up with the stupid storyline. My 6 year old son was having a ball jumping on the theater seats and transforming under them. Warning! A lot of unexpected vulgarity and sexual references in this one. I HATE Michael Bay movies... the things I do for my kids. fb725113011 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies Very problematic. One thing I noticed after contemplating the movie was how the actors aren't on the same page. Billy Crudup was excellent with his accent and totally took the audience back to the 1930's, while Marion Cotillard interpreted Billie the contemporary air, and struggled. Mann should have reeled them all in or chose people that he could control. Also, can someone point out to me where Stephen Dorff is in the movie, because his few minutes in the film went totally way above my head. fb28113586 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies Though meant to show how daring and great his jailbreaks were, it seems to show how clumsy he was to get caught and how clumsy the guards were to let him escape. It doesn't address his robin hood appeal to the public enough. I think Dillinger was much more calculated and intelligent than he comes off in this movie. Perhaps Michael Mann should have directed a Babyface Nelson movie and let Martin Scorcese direct this one, no question it would have been more cerebral. Still good, just not nearly as great as it should have been. One thing it does as well as any other movie is make you despise the vulgar tactics of government agencies. jeffhammer701 Jun 17, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 2.5 stars only because the action sequences were pretty frickin' awesome. Other than that the storyline was pretty corny n' the acting was only mediocre. I hope this doesn't tarnish LaBeouf's acting career 'cuz he did pretty well in "The Greatest Game Ever Played." fb500446565 Jan 22, 2009
Public Enemies definetely not ground breaking by any means, but its good 2 c that hollywood is capable of going back to its roots. im not a huge depp fan but he seemed well researched in his portrayal of Dillinger. i thought bale & cotillard did an excellent job as well. If you're looking for something different than the other summer "blockbusters" this is a good choice. :) fb698113202 Jun 1, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Transformers 2 is loud, long, and ultimately a lackluster movie. Michael Bay reprises his role as the director and it is evident that the goal was to make a movie that was bigger and better than the original. It is bigger but whether its better is going to vary from person to person. For me sadly, the fluid pacing and clever dialogue that made the original a good balance of humor and action is lacking here. Overall, the special affects are nice. Shia LeBeouf's acting is a tad bit better than the first but he doesn't quite have the material that would add any weight to his character. Megan Fox is merely present as eye-candy for teenage men. Her acting is flat and dialogue delivery weaker than the first time around. There are huge explosions. Lots of them. Probably an hour of the film is of people screaming or shouting and running in slow motion. The rest makes little to no effort to move the overall story forward. In a nutshell - you spend almost three hours watching stuff explode to smithereens without much reason or context as to why it is important or relevant in the first place. The film really overstays its welcome and there are several occasions where i felt like the 'less is more' ideal needed to be applied. Fairly disappointing because I truly enjoyed the first one. fb631835004 Jun 22, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen i give it 2.5 because megan fox is worth about 2 of those points and .5 was for the explosions.overall i actually thought it sucked!!! but thats probably because i didnt see the first one! fb1338956531 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies I thought this was excellent; all around. Great story, great acting... I mean with Depp and Bale how could one have a "bad" movie? fb500446565 Jun 29, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Turned out to be decent summer movie fare. Not as good as the original, but overall rather fun. Alien robots blowing up bridges, cities, Shanghai, the pyramids of Egypt..the usual, and Shia LaBeouf-I always like that guy. Could have been shortened to 2 hrs -there was at least half hr of stuff -some attempts at comedy- that wasn't needed otherwise I would have given a higher rating but I would still recommend it to anyone who liked the 1st one. fb523217306 Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Megan Fox was amazing. can someone explain the concept behind stealing a scene from Species; where the alien is in bed with sam and a tenticle comes out from behind her to kill him. they should have picked a better not some flesh on a toothpick. I had to keep my laughter in. If Sam was to be seduced by her, he would have needed to see an optomitrist. to review the movie. well......hard to distinguish the transformation, looked like a bunch of scrap metal flying across the screen. The little spy decepticon turned autobot was hilarious along with the twins. Thank goodness for the comedy relief. It was a good movie, lot of action, but some scenes they could have done without as it made the movie drag. better than the first one. fb509721663 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies Public Enemies has nearly everything a movie-goer could want: Well-crafted art direction, hollywood heavy weights, lots of loud violence and a dash of romance. What's missing? Good writing and character development. Mann relies on style to take the place of substance and indeed, this movie is a sensual experience. We're introduced to Johnny Dillinger (Johnny Depp) as he breaks out of jail in 1932. Director Michael Mann wastes no time taking us along as Johnny robs bank after bank, shooting anyone who gets in his way. It takes about an hour into the movie to start getting some real dialogue and insight into the workings behind Dillinger and those who want him dead (Christian Bale and Billie Crudup). And though Dillan's not portrayed as a hero, we're meant to be on his side. But why? Perhaps if he or the movie were more poetic... fb796673816 Jul 2, 2009
Public Enemies It was good. Not great, but good. The story was good. I just think that the main actors (Johnny Depp and Christian Bale) had secondary performances in this movies and other actors were the highlight. brunolot1 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies I LOVE gangster movies!! And this didnt let me down!! kept my attention the whole time, great acting by Johnny Depp...great love story, great action, Had it all!! HONEYBUNNI Jul 5, 2009

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen didn't think it was as good as the 1st. the premise was good but they didn't do anything with it. would have liked to have seen less crude humor and more plot development. Everyone39sFavoriteG Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen So what's this film got? It has a story that slams along from one action sequence to the next. It has massive robots, duking, shooting and slashing it out. It has a HOT looking Megan Fox. It even has some funny one liners. BUT, what it does not have is movie magic brilliance. Sure, it's entertaining, but for some reason it just can't seem to match it with the first movie. At 2 and a half hours, it's maybe 30 mins to long. However, my biggest gripe with the movie, was the inability to tell what the hell was going on in some of the major battles. All that could be seen was flying metal limbs, and explosions left, right and centre. Transformers are being ripped asunder in most scenes, and you can't even tell who they are. I did enjoy this film, and I'll probably see it again, but for some reason, the magic of the first one just wasnt here. fb621659362 Jul 5, 2009

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) I am a big fan of Ice Age 1 & 2 movies and I think that this movie is going to keep me a fan of the whole ice age trilogy. I watched it in 3D and it was great fun. I like the laughing gas scene I don't think that the ice age became worse from the first part. I think it is still of the same quality; absolute entertainer for animation fans!! 4th part won't be a bad idea fb551497995 Apr 9, 2009

Public Enemies Like the critics said - Johnny Depp was good and Bale really did nothing with his role. The inherent charm of Dillenger's character goes a long way in making this movie what it is - and that would be good, but not great. fb1373188132 Jul 5, 2009
Public Enemies The acting was great, I thought it could use more of a story line and it looked like they used the camera crew from Blair Witch. idabtru Jul 5, 2009
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen The first thirty minutes of this movie have little to do with the actual plot. It's not until Sam gets ambushed by the robo-hottie at college that the story and movie kicks into gear. What follows from there is essentially two hours of things exploding and heavy duty CGI. It's not trying to be a great movie, it's a summer blockbuster, so take it for what it is and nothing more. I would have liked to see some other Autobots appear in this movie as well. Maybe Part 3 will fulfill that wish. fb19900124 Jul 5, 2009
