"Alice in Wonderland", always a good reference.
Patricia Clarkson, always interesting. Elle Fanning, remarkable acting. I didn´t know her before this movie, but I´m sure she´s gonna be (even more) a great actress when grown-up. |

| Whatever Works - PG-13 |
A few funny moments, but full of common places.
Maybe Woody Allen´s latest movies reflect and dialogue with our (meaningless) current time. Whatever works or not, I miss the old good times when Allen was able to set interesting characters and dialogues in a charming New York City. * Maybe a month later, after having rewatched it several times, I like it more and more. Yes, it is full of common places, but that´s (also) the funny about it. Melody Saint Anne Celestine is such a cliche, but "folks, as Boris would say: whatever works". |

| Cosas insignificantes (Insignificant Things) - Unrated |
Emotional and well-done as many others. It works and it doesn´t. One more "feel-good film".
I don´t know why and not exactly in each moment, but I was sure that Paola would shave her head much earlier than she does. *One of the main songs is the same played in "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain"? |

| How to Lose Friends & Alienate People - R |
It´s not so bad as I imagined. Let says it works. It has a mix of British and American humour (American "humour") , shows very well Hollywood´s little world and makes lot of references to the great Fellini´s "La Dolce Vita", the best film about the "celebrity journalism" from where, by the way, the word paparazzi comes.
*Sophie Maes crossing the swimming pool with La Dolce Vita´s theme song palying in the background is a direct reference to the scene of Sylvia in the Fontana di Trevi Enlarged. In my opinion, it is better than the original scene. |
