He seemed eternally optimistic, and that's fine if you're Forrest Gump, but it didn't quite work here. It had a lot of great scenes, and it's an amazing true story, but I think the script could have used a little more massaging. Props for trying though.

With terrific performances all around, and a most interesting and compelling true story driving it, I really loved this movie. One of the year's best films, and one that's most likely to fly under the radar.

Most of the cameos were also pretty funny, which is something you can't say for a lot of Judd Apatow's stuff.

It's exciting, fun, and uniquely intelligent for a film with so much action. Cruise delivers again, and this time, his "action hero" persona has some more depth than it does in some of his other films. I love how his character starts off afraid of combat --a borderline coward-- so when he starts to fight like a champ, we feel like he has earned it. Great fun. Really good stuff.

One of Nolan's better movies, it stretched my brain during, and after viewing. It doesn't always make the most sense, but it plays with time, space, and gravity in such a fun way, it's really hard not to have a good time watching it. Lost in the overload of scientific exposition, however, is another great performance by Matthew McConaughey. I love the turn that his career has made.
I'm not the biggest fan of how Nolan tells his stories, but this one lent itself to his style of direction. Fast-paced, frenetic, and fun, it's one of the quickest 3 hour movies you'll ever see.

It has a few too many cliches to call it a completely original war movie, but it still serves as a more than admirable tribute to the skill and bravery of Chris Kyle. I do like how they don't portray him as you're archetypal hero, but as someone who carries a lot of deeply embedded issues because of what he has seen and done in battle, and who would give his title as a "Legend" away in a heartbeat if it meant that he could find some sense of happiness.
