It takes some guts for the Romneys to allow this kind of access to their internal conversations, and to put it out there for the world to see. But what we immediately realize is that they are, pretty much, just as clean-cut as they portray themselves to be. In some ways that's nice to see, and in other ways, you can't help but wish they would start swearing at one another to make it a little more interesting. All in all, it's an entertaining rewind to the last two presidential elections from a very unique viewpoint. And it's without an overt partisan agenda... there's nothing to lose anymore, so there's no need for spin.

It's not perfect, but its heart and its sense of wonder, along with the great performances (from the kids and adults alike), make up for any weaknesses that the sci-fi story carries. And even then, I still had fun with the sci-fi stuff. It's right up my alley, admittedly, but this movie should just be a lot of fun for anyone who watches it.

It also has more timeless classic quotes than any other movie I can think of.

Once things get going, it never really lets you relax, which is a good thing. Once you watch those pirates board the ship, we are right there with Hanks, thinking, "Oh s**t."
I wish the dialogue had a bit more life to it though, especially in the first act. It contains probably the most generic and bland husband-wife conversation I've ever seen in a movie, at the beginning between Hanks and Catherine Keener. And when the group of Somali pirates are approaching the cargo ship, we get gems like, "We are going to make lots of money!" The crew behind Captain Phillips himself doesn't have much personality either, nor do the actors hold their own next to Hanks.
It gets better as it goes on, and as the situations get more sticky. I do think that Hanks got snubbed an Oscar nod here, but probably only because we have grown so used to him delivering excellence time and time again, it's not as sexy anymore to recognize it. But I do, Mr. Hanks! You are Hollywood's most beloved actor for a reason!

It not only stands as a terrific documentary, but what it discovers about the art world will forever change how we look at art from the past. However you can find this film, you just have to see it.

The 2 hours and 45 minutes moved quickly, an the new characters were all welcome additions. This film would have been hard-pressed to match the magic of the second installment. There isn't a character in this one who reaches the level of Heath Ledger's joker, one of the most riveting and mesmerizing characters in recent memory. But, I can't hold that against this film too much. It's rock solid, and entertaining stuff. And Bane, though might not be as memorable a villain as others, was still a great evil force. Good film. Better than "The Avengers"... But not quite as good as "The Dark Knight."
