James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride find themselves front and center for the Apocalypse! So, this could have gone one of two ways. It could have been incredibly stupid or incredibly good. Luckily and somewhat unbelievably THIS IS THE END is so good it hurts. With the raunchy humor that put these guys on the map and a bit of "End of Days" carnage thrown into the mix. The movie plays out like one giant "Stoner Epic" and is the biggest surprise of the summer. Go see this movie!

As the months flew by and I finally got to see some footage. My hate for the project, turned into genuine excitement. An excitement that followed me into the theater the other day as I decided to check the movie out. So, imagine my surprise! That I fell madly in love with this!
You can't compare the original to this. You just can't! Why? Because, they have a completely different look and tone. That being said, this was so much fun to watch, Blood-filled, cringe-inducing, and genuinely unnerving in parts. There was a couple that walked out of the theater. Which made me love EVIL DEAD that much more.
I will be seeing this atleast once more in the cinema and when the DVD/Blu-Ray comes out. I will be playing it on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future. It is that good!

So, of course the moment I learned they were bringing his tale back to the big-screen. I knew I would be there opening day and I was.
The movie evoked all the emotions one might expect with this sort of subject matter. To be honest, 42 is a fairly generic sports biography. But, the talent in front of the camera makes the film something a little different and a little special. When you sit in a dark theater and the crowd in attendance, bursts out into applause. You know you have done your job as a filmmaker and those are the types of movies I enjoy the most.

This is a very solid Sci-Fi film. A very talented cast (Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Olga Kurylenko, and Andrea Riseborough) and astounding special effects make OBLIVION pretty memorable. I hope this doesn't fly under the radar. This movie deserves an audience! If you are a fan of the genre and have been waiting for a good science fiction film. Look no further!

Who have different theories on what Kubrick was really trying to say, with his film THE SHINING. Sounds cool, right? In theory it sounds very cool. This was easily on the top of my "must-see list" and I was thrilled to finally get to watch it. Unfortunately, it is a huge mess of a film. It serves no real purpose, other than to shine a light on all these people and the hidden meanings they somehow have managed to pick-up on.
I get what the filmmakers were trying to do and I applaud them for it! But, I think the way they put this together was a serious lapse in judgement on their part. It also makes this unwatchable. If it weren't for some of things that came out of the mouths of those interviewed for this film. I would have turned it off and never attempted to watch it again.

The cast and the story in FAT KID RULES THE WORLD are pretty amazing! Matthew Lillard has carved out a nice career for himself and if this movie is any indication of his talents behind the camera. We may be seeing some good stuff from him in the coming years. Jacob Wysocki is a very talented actor and I hope to see more of him, he made this movie!

THE LORDS OF SALEM has a lot of quality moments and boasts a really great collection of characters. During the entire film, Zombie beautifully builds up this uneasy tension and when the final act arrives. It leaves you feeling a little disappointed.
I enjoyed it for the most part. Probably won't watch it again anytime soon. But, I really hope Zombie keeps making films. He has a unique vision and I think he can do great things for the horror genre.

It is so pleasing to the senses. That you can't help but praise Abrams for his ability to make things look so damn good.
The visual aspect of the film aside. I also have to praise Benedict Cumberbatch for being such a great actor. I cannot express in words how talented this man is. Not to take anything away from the other actors. But, Cumberbatch is on some other plane of acting ability.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie. There were some aspects that I really, really enjoyed. However, there were a few things that l didn't. Mostly to do with the identity of a character in the film. I won't go into much detail about it. As it is a major plot element.

I didn't think that it was gonna be good and to be honest it wasn't all that great. But, it broke with the formula of the last two movies and went down a different path. It sacrificed laughs for a darker tone. Some parts were gut-bustingly funny and others were less-so.
It plays out like some epic-adventure full of debauchery and really bad decisions. I really liked it though. The ending of the film was damn-near perfect to me and while I am sad that these guys won't be doing these films anymore. I think they may need a spin-off with Mr. Chow! Just saying.

The series has had a weird run. It wasn't until 4, that the producers seemed to get things going. The choices they have made in these past few films have made this a really good franchise. A fairly well-acted and written film. Throw in some mind-blowing action sequences and you have yourself a blockbuster hit, just in time for Summer.
I think what made this so enjoyable for me is being in a packed theater and reacting to the film with a large group of people. When you can successfully create something that makes that many people laugh, scream, and cheer. You are a damn good filmmaker. So, I have the utmost admiration and respect for Justin Lin. Fantastic job!
