I've always been a huge fan of Brad Pitt. Other than Tom Cruise, Pitt is easily my favorite actor working today. I eagerly anticipate every one of his movies, and very rarely do I not enjoy them. World War Z was no exception. I didn't expect to get much more than an exciting zombie flick that would entertain me for a couple hours, and that is exactly what I got. Don't expect to have your mind blown by some deeply complex plot full of themes and symbolism, just sit back and let yourself enjoy a zombie adventure.
There really isn't anything new or that you haven't seen here. Pitt plays a former United Nations investigator that has to help find a solution to a epidemic that is turning the world into zombies. Nothing more than your typical "find a cure for the zombies" action/adventure flick. Sure, it's cliché. Does it matter? No. There's plenty of destruction, gun firing, and quick scares that many other films in this genre fail to accomplish.
World War Z doesn't try to be much, but it more than succeeds at what it does. If you're looking for a quick, exciting zombie fix to get some scares and entertainment this Halloween, World War Z is definitely a solid option.
