Crank 2: High Voltage
chev is back-from the dead!!
well how else would you have a crank2!!
this action-packed film from start-to-finish follows chev chelios(statham)as he runs around spreading havoc and mayhem is abundance in this film.

with such adult themes a touch of humour has also been added to this film, whether meant to or not there are parts where you may find yourself laugh out loud....i did!!!

also from the first the sex and violence has gone up another level and some may find they may have to shut their eyes at some very painful,tear-provoking and bloody moments.

on the whole this is a great film and for those who loved the first this is a sequel that will not disappoint...(about time a sequel worth shouting about!!!).

WATCH THIS FILM!!!

Fast and Furious (2009,  PG-13)
Fast and Furious
I'm giving this movie half a star for two reasons: Gal Gadot's cold left nipple and Gal Cadot's cold right nipple.
Sorry. Those remarks were crude and borderline misogynistic. But what else can I talk about? There is nothing good about this movie, NOT ONE SINGLE FUCKING THING! It's aimed at an audience who want nothing from their movies but a way to passively waste two hours of their life. Can this movie even provide that kind of entertainment? Nope.
Let's try to analyze this movie on the lowest common denominator. Nice cars? None. In fact, cars take a back seat in this installment. There are no auto erotic shots, cuz the movie is too concerned with endulging in the action scenes. How is the action? It sucks. There is not one matching edit, not one shot that shows where anyone is in the scene, and in other scenes, I honestly believe there were frames missing. The liberties taken with the laws of physics are so beyond ridiculous that they make the Transporter movies look like nature documentaries. Hot bodies? About five seconds worth. The one steamy scene between Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster gets cut before it even begins. You can't even laugh at Vin Diesel being badass by kicking the crap out of everyone; he's way too nice at it. Where is Arnold when you need him?
There's no point discussing the plot. What kind of movie thinks its audience is dumb enough to believe that a tunnel could be carved through the US/Mexico border, big enough for cars to drive back and forth? The drama doesn't work. The acting is flat. The FBI characters are the dumbest officials this side of Police Academy. And not a single cliche is missed.
I've taken flack by fellow film buffs for liking movies like Bad Boys II and Death Race. But this is a movie I can't understand how anyone can enjoy. Why do movies like this even exist? Oh, right, money.

The Haunting in Connecticut
My expectations weren't high, so I hesitate from saying this was a "disapointment"...but it wasn't very good.

I left feeling like the "back story" as to how and why the home was haunted, was far more interesting and wishing that they would have just made a film about that!

If you're a horror fan, it might be worth a rental. But sadly there is nothing here to warrant shelling out $10 to see it on "the big screen

The Soloist (2009,  PG-13)
The Soloist
Based on the book written by journalist Steve Lopez, Jamie Foxx delivers an academy award nomination worthy performance. Robert Downey Jr. plays a believable journalist, but his reltionship with his female editor is loosely defined. A rather dark movie plott, but reality is sometimes not a very pretty thing. Go see it, but don't expect to leave the theater ready to save the world of homeless people.

17 Again (2009,  PG-13)
17 Again
a "star vehicle" is a film basically tailored to it's pop star's strong points (i think) and so zac efron, the latest hollywood manufactured wonder boy, comes down from vidal sassoon to stupify us with his manufactured zing. could this be the next brad pitt? thomas lennon alone in the cast is unimpressed.

Terminator Salvation (2009,  PG-13)
Terminator Salvation
Hey, you Hollywood has long had a tradition of coming along and restarting or remaking franchises. By their very nature, they're almost universally either very successful or very disappointing. The middle ground it seems could be measured in inches. Terminator Salvation is no exception. And unfortunately, it falls in the category of a huge disappointment. The first two Terminator movies are bonified classics. Sure they had great special effects and lots of action, but they also told good stories and took the time to develop interesting characters. Rise of the Machines was not on the level of Terminator and T2, but it wasn't a terrible film. The same cannot be said for Terminator Salvation.
This time it's a prequel. As the movie opens, Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a murderer, is waiting to be put to death when he's visited by a Doctor (Helena Bonham Carter), who is there to persuade him to give his body to a cause for science. Flash forward now to post "judgment day." John Connor

Shutter (2008,  PG-13)
Shutter
A pretty decent effort of a remake of the original Thai film. It compares well and the scenes are very similar, but the Thai version was more jumpy and creepy for me. Though that could be partly put down to knowing what was coming. The imagery of the ghost girl is no way as scary as the Grudge, Ring remakes. Enjoyable film well made and featuring a recognizable cast including the beautiful Rachael Taylor from Transformers
