Despite the controversial premise, the movie has its funny moments - such as the scene where Howell does a Stevie Wonder impersonation - and manages to keep you giggling throughout. It's predictable right till the end, but it doesn't fail to entertain.
An excellent, modern western with a good amount of twists and turns in the script to keep you guessing right till the end. Very unpredictable, very cool! Really enjoyed it!
Gritty and realistic, but I thought the story was rather short and the movie ended prematurely. The climax comes in too easy and before you realise it, the movie is over. Still, worth a watch.
Much, much better than the first one. Actually, this is what should originally have been a part of the first movie, because I didn't like the way it ended. Escape 2 Africa completes the Madagascar story.
This movie feels incomplete and lacking in direction when you actually look back at the script. It's got a few good gags, Stiller and Rock are great, so are Cohen and the penguins, but nothing really interesting happens in the end. It's best to watch this movie and the sequel back to back, considering it as one whole movie.
So, yeah, it's crass, crude and vulgar, but I never had a problem with that stuff anyway. The movie is really, really funny with a few totally unexpected elements thrown into what can otherwise be called a fairly mundane plot. Gotta watch!
I went into this movie without trying to find out what it was all about, and I was pleasantly surprised with it. It was very funny, with a good plot and an excellent script to see it through. I was smiling right till the end and even after that!
A pleasant trip back to the days of Liar Liar and Bruce Almighty. I enjoyed the movie. In contrast with Fun with Dick and Jane (which didn't evoke even a shred of a smile from me), Yes Man has quite a few moments that would make you push the pause button, finish laughing and press the play button. Zooey Deschanel was awesome as usual!
I liked the concept, but the execution is appallingly bad. I've seen better acting and dialogue delivery in 90's porn flicks. Apart from Naseeruddin Shah, everyone else has put in one of their worst performances. So it starts off shit, goes on to do some more shit, then some interesting pre-climax stuff happens, and then you realise that there is no climax.
Good cinematography. I like the plot, but the script let me down. I had to fast-forward through most of he emo scenes with emo rock music in the back and no dialogue, but the soundtrack on the whole had a few interesting tracks. I don't think I'd recommend this movie to anyone.
This is a good looking movie - the cinematography is good and the dogfights are good - but it's got too basic a storyline to keep your interest for too long. It's not a bad watch, but it's probably not the best use of your time.
I generally like Vince Vaughn and most of the movies he's been in, and this is no exception. Vince and Paul are prefectly cast as the Claus brothers and so are Rachel and Kevin. While the plot is simple enough, it's still engaging and funny. It's a refreshing Christmas movie, if you're tired of the same old kiddy Santa Claus crap they belt out every year.
Ghajini is the most chuttadh fucking movie I've seen in 2008. It is fucking retarded. Bad acting, bad script, bad camera, BAD BAD BAD!!!! The half star rating shall be equally divided between the attractive Asin and the sultry Jiah Khan. That's it. Everyone else FUCK OFF!
Not groundbreaking in any manner, but certainly very entertaining. The action scenes were well done and so were the effects. Can't comment much on the performances, but I guess they were okay for an action movie. A good weekend watch.
Amazing movie! This is the cityI see everyday, but through the eyes of Boyle, it's still a whole new world for me. Excellent performances by everyone in the film, though I couldn't figure out why Jamal has a UK accent in the movie. He was only a chaiwala at a call centre, not an executive, right? Anyway, special compliments to the beautiful Freida Pinto, who I know personally. This is a debut most actors wouldn't be able to dream of! Congratulations!
I didn't really like the way the story progressed, but I was entertained by most of the incidents in the movie. It's got a great cast and performances by them, but I thought it was a little too long and not satisfying enough in the end.
I expected something as good as 'Run Fatboy Run' at least, if not as good as 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun of the Dead', but what I got instead was 'The Devil Wears Prada' with a guy in the lead role. Pegg does bring his own crank to the character, but Dunst just killed whatever was left of the movie.
There was a bit of a vacant feeling throughout the movie and the ending isn't exactly very climactic, but there's still enough action, adventure, some exotic and some not so exotic locations to keep you entertained. I wouldn't say this is a worthy sequel, but I wouldn't suggest avoiding it.
Beautifully shot movie with some stellar performances by the central characters. The scenery along the route of the train is simply breathtaking. I want to go travel by the Trans-siberian railway now! I really enjoyed this movie. Must watch!
