The most spectacular fantasy/fairy tale production ever. The sheer scope of it is breathtaking. With an all-star cast, multitudes of locations, seamless special effects and more, this is a mini-series not to be missed.
Every cast member did a fantastic job with their roles. You feel for each one of them and believe who they are playing. Combine that with the detailed scenery and sets, as well as the special effects, and it's easy to become entranced while watching.
The storyline has many interesting twists and turns that keeps it from becoming predictable. This series takes the entire fairy tale genre to the next level. It's highly doubtful that any other can compare.
It's unfortunate that a sequel is not planned. If you enjoyed this mini-series, be sure to write letters advocating for a sequel.
I own the DVD set and watch it whenever I have the spare time. It's a beautiful series that will be a permanent part of my collection.
Sure, for a game-to-movie, it didn't do so well. However, since when has such a thing worked out 100%? For that matter, most "based on" movies take so many creative liberties that only the IDEA is from the original.
Frankly, I find this "rendition" quite pleasing. It wasn't even close to being like the game, but it stands on its own. I don't even think the game could be made into a movie and come out right. Even the 3D game sequels are nothing like the originals.
The movie is still entertaining with unique characters, plenty of game references, elaborate sets and more. It's disappointing that it was such a bomb because I still anticipate a sequel.
I bought the original VHS when it came out for $19.99. I have watched it many times. I just watched it again a couple of days ago. I fully intend on getting the DVD soon.
If you think badly of the movie, please watch it again. But this time, watch it as just a movie instead of trying to compare it to the game.
An Eighties classic that virtually no one can not love. The characters are so unique and varied, more so than most movies nowadays. Add in every kid's fantasy of treasure hunting that results in plenty of action and comedy and you have a defining film of the Eighties. This movie never gets old for me.
Spectacular! The best Brat Pack and teen movie from the Eighties. Virtually everyone can relate to one of the characters in this movie. If only all people were required to be isolated with others who are "different" than themselves, maybe the world could be a little better than it is.
A great swashbuckling action flick with plenty of comedy and memorable lines. It's slow enough to not overwhelm the senses, but fast enough to be an action flick. This is one of the best roles Johnny Depp has ever played. His pirate performance is great. It all comes together to be a very memorable movie that cannot be missed.
I would've given this 5 stars, but there was so much action that there wasn't time for the witty lines that made the first and second so great. In my opinion, this one was too serious. But, at least I got to see my favorite, Barbosa, again!
A fascinating look into the history of Apple Computer and Microsoft. Since I'm biased towards "geek" movies, I had to give this one 5 stars.
Although it has been dramatized to make for a better movie, it still has the core facts straight. Also, according to the bonus on the DVD, Noah Wyle did such a good job playing Jobs that Jobs himself called Wyle after the movie aired on TV to compliment him.
This is a must-watch for any die-hard computer fan!
A fun Star Wars side story involving the Ewoks, humans that crash-landed on Endor, and the Marauders.
It has a wonderful array of characters including Cindal, the sole survivor of her family, Wicket, the improvising Ewok, Noa, the sole survivor of his ship, Teek, Noa's mischievous & speedy friend, and Terak, King of the Mauraders.
The special effects may not be all that great, but it's still fun to watch. I enjoyed it as a kid, and I still do as an adult.
This TV movie is the sequel to The Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage from 1984. Watch it first before Battle for Endor. I have the two-pack DVD set that includes both.
