The Mist - R One of the most suspenseful movies I've seen in recent times. The character dynamics were spectacular. In a matter of two days, a group of people devolve into complete psychopaths simply through being trapped and listening to religious prophesies.

The ending blew both myself and my wife away. We couldn't believe it went down the way it did. I don't see how anyone would do that without at least waiting until the absolute last moment -- the point at which there isn't an alternative.

Overall, the movie was great, but the ending sucked badly. It made me mad.

Running With Scissors - R A completely messed up flick! Dysfunctionality aplenty. It was a bit slow moving for my tastes. I watched it in two parts. Many times, I wanted to ring someone's neck in the movie. It had its moments that made me laugh, but I don't plan on watching it a second time. I learned a new word from this flick: masterbatorium. Dark Water - PG-13 I expected more from this movie. There wasn't much horror involved. I don't consider a flooded room as scary. Only towards the end does it involve anything remotely scary. Even then, it didn't creep me out like a horror movie should. I also didn't like the finale too much (I'm biased for happy endings). July 1, 2008

Premonition - PG-13 A very strange movie. It's hard to predict where the story is going during the course of the movie. The outcome was definitely surprising. It only goes to show that even if you can predict the future, your actions may ultimately be the cause of the prediction. July 1, 2008

Epic Movie - PG-13 Many people do not find spoofs funny. It takes a special sense of humor to enjoy them. This flick definitely requires such a sense. Also, as with any spoof, you must watch the movies being spoofed, or at least be well aware of them, in order to find humor in it (and Epic Movie references a lot of them).

Epic Movie is one of the few spoofs I've seen that had so many sexual elements to it. It was almost gratuitous. There is juvenile humor abound. Lucky for me, I got plenty of laughs from this one.

I own the Unrated DVD, so there were things that movie-goers didn't get to see. The extras on the disc were just -- wrong. Most of them revolved around Hairy Beaver and Mr. Tumnus and the sexual aspects of both.

Overall, the movie was good for laughs, but it not as much as many other spoofs I've seen.

The Terminal - PG-13 A funny, warm-hearted comedy about Victor Navorski being trapped at JFK Airport with no way to leave.

Once again, I have to disagree with a lot of the reviewers. I didn't think this movie was slow at all. It moved at an expected pace and had plenty of humorous moments. I probably would've chose someone other than Zeta-Jones, but she played the part of a flight attendant reasonably well. The flight attendant back story could use a little work, too.

Tom Hanks did a great job acting as a European who can't speak English, but manages to learn some of it during his stay. The way that Victor improvises during his stay and what he encounters along the way made me really feel for him.

The supporting cast were great in their respective roles. The janitor is worth a few laughs.

Overall, this is a great movie and worth the watch.

Crank - R I just don't understand all the negativity. It's not like it's a run-of-the-mill you-killed-my-family revenge flick or something like it. Instead, in this movie, Chev has to keep moving to stay alive because he's been injected with the Beijing Cocktail that will kill him if his heart rate slows.

Due to this, there is plenty of action. It's completely insane! Crazy car chases, shooting up in a hospital, sex in Chinatown.. you name it!

So, strap in, hang on, and get ready for one wicked ride!
