Ewoks: The Battle for Endor - Unrated A fun Star Wars side story involving the Ewoks, humans that crash-landed on Endor, and the Marauders.

It has a wonderful array of characters including Cindal, the sole survivor of her family, Wicket, the improvising Ewok, Noa, the sole survivor of his ship, Teek, Noa's mischievous & speedy friend, and Terak, King of the Mauraders.

The special effects may not be all that great, but it's still fun to watch. I enjoyed it as a kid, and I still do as an adult.

This TV movie is the sequel to The Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage from 1984. Watch it first before Battle for Endor. I have the two-pack DVD set that includes both.

Clerks - R It is so believable that you can almost think someone just followed these guys around. I feel for the characters, especially Dante. I got a load of laughs out of this one. If you've ever worked as a clerk/cashier and haven't seen this, you MUST see it! I'm amazed at how simple, yet complex at the same time, the script is. Kevin Smith was genius with this one. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - PG For the original story, the first movie is much better. This one is just messed up.

I gave it 3.5 stars because the humor is great, the visuals are spectacular, and the story mostly follows the original. Johnny Depp's lines are hilarious even though he says them in a completely serious tone.

I don't like who they cast for some of the children, and I definitely don't like the new Oompa Loompa - especially since it's the same guy! The updated songs are crap. The originals are MUCH better.

MirrorMask - PG A disturbing and bizarre movie -- that you can watch more than once. In fact, you may need to just to figure out what the heck you just watched. The visuals, including the characters and environment, are just out of this world. This has to be one of the more unique movies in recent history. June 29, 2007

Paradise Lost - The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills - Unrated A very intriguing and disturbing look about the murder of three eight-year-old boys in Arkansas. This documentary covers many facets of the topic, including interviews with many of the involved people.

I saw it on HBO when it first aired. During the whole thing, I didn't really feel like I was watching a documentary. It has a lot more substance than most documentaries out there. Berlinger and Sinofsky did a splendid job with this one.

I haven't seen Paradise Lost 2 yet, but it's definitely on my Want To See list.
