My Favorite Movies

this tells the story of a group of people in their relationships and what they are looking for ,the sex therapist who has never orgasmned,the gay couple who want an open relationship after 5 years of togetherness,the dominatrix who wants a normal life,they all find what their looking for at Shortbus,very funny and very tragic too,i really enjoyed it.(quite sexually explicit).

an all time fav this movie is outstanding,Zooey Deschanel is amazing & so on the markand co star Paul Schneider if i'm not wrong he wrote the movie ,these to had such chemistr on screen .i've watched it at least 20 times (how sad am i lol ).

Lazarus(Samuel l Jackson)rescues a young woman beaten & left on the side of the road,the woman Rae(Christina Ricci)who has been a victim of chilhood sexual abusedevelops a reputation around town for having an itch for sex,Lazarus holds Rae prisoner to cure her of her wicked ways.Christina Ricci gives a believable performance as does Samuel L Jackson the best iv'e seen from him since Pulp Fiction.Highly recommended i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing film,tells the story of Yuichi a teenage boy who's life sees him dealing with violence,bullying,& alienation in the world around him,his one escape however from reality is that of Lily Chou-Chou's world a pop star who has her own website were Yuichi feels free from the clutches of the real world and is able to express his true self through her music.Shows a harsh look at adolescence and what some people have to do to survive it,not everyone is as lucky.one of a kind highly recommended.

Ed Norton at his best i loved this movie also stars Evan Rachel Wood .Harlen(Ed) by chance meets tobe a bored teen looking for some attention,everything seems great until her father decides he dosn't want him around his family,a shattering end occurs won't give it away,highly recommended.

this was excellent, star performance from Cate Blanchet,best movie iv'e seen in a while .Blanchet plays a rcovering heroin addict who is trying to make something of her life ,unfortunately the past catches up with her and things go bad ,a must see.

Great performances a dreamy expirience of a cool summer.Mona and Tamsin meet on the moors of their quiet Yorkshire village,the pair soon forge an intense unlikely friendship,the pair try desperately to escape their lives,Phil Mona's brother sets out to save them taking God into his life.Mona just wants to save phil.

Based on the life of Jesse James one of the youngest drug dealers to be on the FBI most wanted list.Johnny the leader is owed money for a drug deal that didn't pay off,not thinking about the outcome he kidnapps the younger brother of the guy who owes him,things obviously don't turn out as they planned,i thought the performances were excellent even from JT plus what an amazing cast this is probably one of my fav movies this year,def recommend you go see it.

What starts out as a break in for Will(Jude Law) turns in to something a lot more complex than he thought,When Will finds out the identity of the thief he decides not to tell the police but to make himself known to his mother Amira(Juliette Binoche).
Wil having troubles at home with his partner Liv(Robin Wright Penn)embarks upon an affair with Amira whilst she is totally unaware of his true identity and what led him their in the first place.
Outstanding solid performances from a great cast,obviously the shit hits the fan and everything comes out in the ending,for me this movie was great ,had everything a movie should have,highly recommended.

A group of young kids try to make the best of their life ,set in a small welsh town,a young girl struggles with her small child while all she really wants is to be out with her friends causing trouble,after accusing the Turkish man across the street for reporting her to the social things get out of hand with terrible consequences.a harsh look at racism in the world we live in today.

i must admit i don't normally do Disney i only watched it cus Zooey Deschanel was in it.tells the story of a young boy Jess who is pretty much and outsider at school that is until he meets Leslie a young girl who has just moved in next door.their adventure begins when they find a tree rope and through the power of their imagination they find Terabithia,the film is pretty much about Friendship,and family and the ability to believe,it's not all happiness though there is some heartbreaking moments too,i really enjoyed it.

Great movie Bill Murray adds that certain humour to it,Don Johnston receives a letter from one of his former lovers stating he has a 19yr old son,unaware who it could be he goes on a mission to find all his past flames to find out who the mother is ,hillarious in places ,am loving Winston his neighbour who acts as detective and plans the whole trip for him making sure he looks for clues at each destination.def worth a watch.

A story of a single father(Daniel Day Lewis)who raises his daughter in an old comune were life doesn't really reach them their ,in their own small world he realises that Rose is growing up and has to deal with it,without warning he invites his girlfriend and 2 sons to come stay with them not thinking about the outcome or effedt it will have on rose quite tragic end but beautifully acted,and a fitting sountrack,would recommend it.

Amazing movie visualy.

After getting thrown out of prep school for taking provocative pictures 17yr old Jordan Wells still wants to pursue his intrests in photography but now he'll have to do it in a public school,while attending he meets Shay a girl from a totally different world than his own,his obsession with her leads him into some serious trouble accessory to murder being one of them,a great drama/thriller with some good plot twists also some excellent photography through out.

Not your normal Rom Com,deals with some heavy issues.love and death,and how you think you know a person,when really there is so much you don't know a great mix of characters,give it chance you'll be surprised,i was!!.

Bernie Lootz(William H Macy)spends night after night working as a cooler for vegas mobster Shelly Kaplow(Alec Baldwin)working off his debt.As his debt comes to an end Bernie meets Natalie a cocktail waitress at the casino,Shelly sees he is loosing Bernie and realise he could lose millions along with him,he's not about to let this happen no matter what.excellent performances throughout really enjoyed it,recommend it not be missed.

excellent movie can see why it won movie of the year,haunting soundtrack too from Bird York.

one of my favs Natalie Portman gives a great performance,as does the rest of the cast well worth watching if u havn't all ready.

A young guyDean (Jamie Bell)finds his best friend hanging in his room,he decides not to tell anyone thinking they wouldn't much care, Dean shows no signs of remorse.his friend troy was the local drug dealer at school and now he's gone they harass Dean to get his stash,strange things start to happen around him,being medicated himself all things come to a breakdown on the day of Troys wake,was ok bit of a dark movie,worth a watch if u like that sort of film.

Great performances in this movie ,Jack Nicholson plays Costanzo the big mob guy who everybody seems to work for.He has an insider in the police force,but what he dosen't know is they also have an undercover officer in his team.some good action and great twist at the end,if you enjoyed Donnie Brasco you would love this.

Jan and Peter are not the normal activists,in their ideals to change the world they become The Edukators to those around them who in their eyes have to much of a good thing,(money)picking houses to break into the pair never take anything just rearrange things and leave a message.
When Jule enters the picture complications arise.
Some real issues come to light in the movie about the way some people live there lives without realising what pain they cause others,great movie.

all time favourite great soundtrack too.

Very emotionally charged movie,based on the books the students wrote,Freedom Writers Diary(true story).Hilary Swank gives an amazing performance as the teacher who takes on the task of trying to educate these students who are at war with each other over their race or religion,most of them being gang members,she conects with one class and makes them see they have more to their lives than this,excellent movie highly recommended.

Robert Carmichael seems like any other lad that is until he and his friends decide to get high and cause trouble,things start out small but when his friends cousin comes out of jail their activities become worse,this leads to a very disturbing climax especially for Robert.stars Danny Dyer,be warned very disturbing scene at the end.

Stars Billy Zane comedy/zombie film or more like mad cow disease was quite comic in places didn't really have much to go on the script was lame so i think they done their best i'd give it 2*/5

A story of romance,redemption &renovation,can't give too much away on this one.Kevin Kline gives an outstanding performance i truly felt for the guy while watching the movie,loved it.

sofia coppola one of my favourites i loved the way you get to see Tokyo in this movie also a gret cast Bill Murray's performance i thought was outstanding .

One of the best British films iv'e seen in a while,tells the story of Joanne a 12yr old runaway who is plucked off the street by kelly a local prostitute,Her pimp Derek offers the girl money and sends her on a job with Kelly,events turn nasty and both girls are forced to go on the run,if they stay in London Derek will be after them.
A film that deffinately don't make things look sweet shows the harsh,gritty reality of life for those who make their money off the streets,great performances too.

quite a few good cast members ,i thought this was gunna be one of those rom coms,but it was a lot more serious than i expected wich was a good thing i really liked this movie.

This movie is based on the true stories of it's mostly non-proffesional cast,it follows two young teen boys Marek and David who after running away from their homes meet up on the seedy streets of Prauge,out of hunger and desperation they are soon picked up and thrown in to a world of prostitution,drugs,and petty theft,after his friend David is arrested Marek loses the plot,a pretty disturbing film some great performances .

Took me ages to get hold of this movie,but was worth the wait.Tells the story off Lyle(Joseph Grdon-Levitt)who after badly beating a classmate is commited to a juvenile mental institution,their he encounters other troubled teenagers who all suffer similar problems,they all try to deal emotionally with their rage & anger some don't make it through as well as expected,also stars Zooey Deschanel who gives a great performance along with JGL,a couple of disturbing scenes but overall an ace movie .

After reading the book i was so looking forward to watching the movie,again great performances all round ,bit of a disturbing story line for some viewers(abuse/prostitution) but what a movie highly recomend.

bit dissapointed by this was visualy great but story could have had more depth to it again Coppola directed and superb cast

2 girls by the same name (Nana)by chance meet on a train heading to Tokyo,one on their way to reconcile with her boyfriend ,and the other running away from hers.
They seperate when arriving in Tokyo only to bump into one another whilst looking at property,they both want to rent the same appartment so they agree to share.
AS their friendship beging to grow closer so do their relationships troubles.
Enjoyable movie.

visually amazing,and superb performances fron Norton &Watts,they play an english couple who marry in the 1920's unfortunately he finds out his wife never married him for love,after she betrays him he gives her the option of divorce or to accompany him to the heart of ancient China,were he is to work in a remote village as a doctor to try and cure the sick of disease.It is here they find redemption and learn to love again.highly recommend you see it if not for the story then for the visual beauty alone.

Stephan has a problem with relating to what is real in his life and where his dreams begin.
A bizzare film mostly set in the drem world of Stephan,his realities begin to lose control when he meets his neighbour Stephanie he somehow believes their relationship is going places but in reality it dosn't work out the way he dreamed it would,great imaginative fim,excellent performance from Gael as usual.

Takes a look in to the harsh underworld of organised crime.Mikey(Cuba Gooding Jr)&Rose(Helen Mirren)are trained assassins who get called in to do a hit for a brutal crime boss,once their they realise it's his wife who goes into labour when they are about to kill her.Their only way out is to take the woman and baby & begin a life on the run.Five years later things come to light and it brings more than trouble. a great cast including Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Steven Dorff also Wes Bently & Eva Mandes.Some disturbing scenes but is a great movie deffinately recommend you see it.

Maggie Gyllenhaal jsust amazes me each time she performs wich is outstanding in this movie just been released from prison she tries to stay in control of her life so as to get her daughter back ,will have to watch it c if she does.

a coming of age story about two brothers who's parents are diorcing funny yet honest ,i enjoyed it very much.

Pretty much what i expected some action neat effects ,once again Peter Parker has to fight of the baddies and save Mary Jane.This time we get to see the dark side of Spidey that was quite amusing especially his night fever dance haha,over all a good watch.

A pen i gave her my heart she gave me a pen,i love this movie iv'e watched it so many times ,these to have great chemistry on screen believable.

Miss Amanda Jones,absolutely love this movie probably wore my copy out by now ,another great 80's movie with great cast also.

not a fan of will,but maggie was in so had to watch was good idea not bad film.

Normally a bit of a loner he meets a local group of skinheads who decide to take him under their wing and make him feel like he's part of something.
This film shows how easy it is to be led into something at a yong age NF and rascialism,is one of the best movies iv'e seen in a while highly recommend it.

This was great fun,didn't think it would be as good,deffinately worth a viewing.

ONE OF THE BEST HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO HASN'T WATCHED IT.

Director David Gordon Green(All The Real Girls)as that was a fav thought i would give this a try was impressed not as dreamy but still a great cast Jamie Bell and Devon Alan play two brothers Chris and Tim they live in an isolated farmhouse with not much of anything.A stranger turns up at the house who turns out to be their fathers brother with no where to go they take him in and try to live as a family,Things are not as cosy as they seem and is uncle Deel really their to make a new start?def worth watching a great movie.

from the director of fatal attraction this film was awesome would watch it again def worth watching if u havn't allready.

Really enjoyed this an unexpected twist at the end a different role for Costner,when their father left the outcome effected each person differently,especially the mother and eldest daughter.would definately reccomend this one.

Cally a 17yr old California girl spent most of her chilhood life growing up within a commune.Now living with her father on a houseboat things are becoming difficult as she desperately wants to leave.One night while Cally is out she meets a woman Sabine who she is instantly drawn to ,in her she sees parts of herself.A film about finding yourself ,love and if freedom is really what you are looking for,really enjoyed this defo worth a watch.

Drama focusing on Reese Holden a strugling actress who is offered $100.00 for the publication of letters that were left to her by her mother,these were love letters wrote from her reclusive father Don who was a well known author.
This means Reese has to return back home after a long abscence.great performances from Ed Harris as Don also Zooey Deschanel as Reese,was quite impressed with Will Farrell too,prefer him in a more serious role.

Richard E Grant's semi autobiographical debut,shot in Swaziland,Southern Africa,a coming of age story focused on Ralph Compton(Nicholas Hoult-Skins)as he deals with family life,love,fear,and his hopes,great movie really enjoyed it.
