Fact based story of a female serial killer. Fantastic performance from Charlize Theron and deserving of the praise she was given. Christina Ricci also aquits herself well. Ultimately though it is a very dark and gruesome tale.
Gentle comedy (for gentle comedy read not many laughs) which pokes fun at British prudishness. After a good start the movie flags a bit. Hats off to the original models though! Enjoyable but an opportunity missed.
Dark, gruesome and clever thriller with great performances from the two leads. However the film is stolen by Kevin Spacey and his chilling portrayal of "John Doe".
Valiant attempt at filming a great book. Special effects are great as you would expect and the acting is of a high standard. However the ending (although dramatic in its own way) does not lend itself to film.
I just love the opening sequence - the script is fantastic. Joan Fontaine gives a wonderful performance and Laurence Olivier is much more understated than usual for which I give Alfred Hitchcock all the credit! Great entertainment and how creepy is Mrs Danvers?
Great family entertainment with a cast to die for. The special effects are a bit dated now but does not detract from the enjoyment. Songs don't get any better than Judy Garland's rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow".
