A totally unique approach in sci-fi genre. Most box office mainstream moviegoers will find this disappointing, but i pretty much hailed it as original and fresh.
The thing about this flick is that it brought us into a 'what-if' situation, where humans have to deal with coexisting with the aliens. And the best quality here is it captures the realism and emotion not just in human but also from the perspective of the aliens. Another thing is that i've found interesting is that, it's not a typical hollywood flick, and i believe it's not meant to be, had it not got picked up by Mr Peter Jackson. What i meant is there is not even one single big star names and the setting is documentary-style and is in South Africa, which is very non-cliche. All in all, excellent flick and proved to be a sleeper hit of the year. The rave reviews from critics were right all along. Expect a sequel, in a year or three(if you know what i mean).... |
