Donnie is a seriously troubled teen.
Plagued by a vision of a macabre rabbit, which convinces him to do a series of petty crimes after a near death experience. Going down this dark path it leads him to a greater understanding of the world and time and the chaos theory.

Not for every one, this movie plays at our minds at many different levels. Jake Gyllenhaal is definitely going to be the next most sought after actor in Hollywood.

I think that no matter how weird Jakes character seems, we are able to identify with him somehow. He is the misfit, the little bit odd one that people want to now, but are too scared to talk to. In a way the writers and directors played on cinemas archetypal characters here: The concerned teacher, sibling rivalry, the concerned mother, and the motivational speaker that should heed his own advice. But the Director Richard Kelly, shows a fresh spin on these characters, showing the levels of a person when put into an odd situation. For that, and many others, it gets my 5 star seal of approval.

It's one of those movies that repeatedly you will pick out new bits of information that you didn't realise the previous time.

Amazing movie. Stellar cast and fantastic cinematography.

Although not an original, most of normal cinema going people will be none the wiser that this is not the most original, yet ironic, movie in many years. Just bear in mind, if you have seen the original note that so has Martin Scorsese... Many times it seems.

Having so many stars sometimes can set you up for a fall (What ever you do, do not see Hurlyburly). Over acting and egos could be an issue.

But, This movie rises valiantly above this to be the best-acted film of 2006.

It's darkly engaging. A trademark of Martin Scorsese is black humour that he puts in the most inappropriate places. Watching it at the movies I felt ashamed that I had laughed as such things...

Jack Nicholson was fantastic. That's the only way to describe him. He was dark and malice, and the most ruthless part I?ve seen him portray in a modern movie. I always like Leonardo DiCaprio, he is an amazing actor, and in the Departed he doesn't fail to please. Neither does Matt Damon for that matter, slipping comfortably into their roles. My favourite character though, is the part of the cop, played by Mark Walberg. He is sarcastic and smart-ass. He gives a dark comedy aspect to the move, but when it comes down to it really delivers on his performance.

It is plain to see that Martin Scorsese does a lot with his actors to bring out a chemistry between them. We can feel that the characters are immersing in their parts whole heartedly (which is quite a scary thought for the likes of Jack Nicholson).

Great plot + Fantastic actors + Amazing director = Very good film

HUZZAH

War movies generally annoy me.

1. The characters are unbelievably stereotypical. Often cold and showing little chance of having a character, other than that emotional letter from the wife at home.

2. The plot is dry and constricted. We know the war is bad, but come on, show us just how bad.

3. Emphasis is put on those who don't deserve it. The heroes that look just as good coming out as the did coming in.
We need more Lt. Dans'

These preconceived ideas were shattered after watching Apocalypse Now. It is a seriously unglamorous portrayal in part of Americas darkest days.

Francis Ford Coppola delivers this dank and brooding Vietnam war movie in such a way only he can achieve.

This movie grabs you by the throat and will not release it's grip. From start to finish we become engrossed in the characters turmoil and strife which is representative of the USA views at the time. Soldiers are human too.

If thinking about watching a war movie, watch this one.

There are no superlatives.

I cannot converse with any person that does not find Monty Python at all funny.

Seriously.
If you don't like them go away.

Wanting light hearted comedy that will keep you in stitches from start to finish? Rent this.

That is all that needs to be said. Period.

Many people will go to watch this movie knowing the whole plot. It is Shakespeare of course. But fear not people that think Shakespeare is just some dead guy, this is a really good take on the his classic tragedy "Othello"

I am a keen fan on Shakespeare, and having seen Julia Styles make an outstanding preformance in 10 things I hate about you (Based on Shakespeares comedy "Taming of the Shrew") I knew we had actors with their whole hearts in the performanc.

It was acted beautifully, the characters are likeable and hateable and the story flows with prestine precision. Good film to ease yourself into Shakespeare, or wanting a good story performed by a good, young cast.
