Toy Story 2 - G Great movie, though I prefer its predecessor. September 14, 2008

Finding Nemo - G Well...Finding Nemo was pretty good, though I actually haven't seen it since the theaters, but I still don't understand why everyone is so freakin obsessed with it. It was fun, but The Incredibles was awesome. September 14, 2008

Pride and Prejudice - PG Want a period piece? Bam. Not as smoothly directed and run through transitions as it should have been, but it's still fairly fantastic. September 14, 2008

The Exorcism of Emily Rose - PG-13 A very good film, though more of a drama than the trailers implied. Don't be fooled by its legacy, the demonic focus is almost secondary in this one. September 14, 2008

Bewitched - PG-13 I was not expecting much from what I'd heard about it, but Bewitched was really charming and fun. I liked it. September 14, 2008

Sin City - R Really cool movie, but you gotta be in the mood for its off-beat, dark feel. September 14, 2008

Knocked Up - R It was a quality made movie like I expected... but it was honestly kind of boring, which is sad. September 14, 2008

Stardust - PG-13 A movie that's generally entertaining and lots of fun, though is incredibly hard to define. Best comparison in thematic feel is the Princess Bride, but with a lot more fantasy and higher concentration on plot and setting. Though, a lot of the story isn't delivered as well as it could have been, mostly, in my opinion, because ithere's a lot of what seemed to be quickly written "fixes" to avoid complications from the novel/comic book that were avoided. Casino Royale - PG-13 This was a pretty f'in slick bond movie. A lot better than the cheesy knock'offs of recent age...even though Pierce did have a good Bond look. I actually like the fact that this is not only a "prequel" about Bond, but is almost an entirely new reboot. After 20 movies, the genre needed a kick in the sack to start up and rolling again... The Illusionist - PG-13 It was pretty good I thought, just very very slow. You have to be fully aware and into the dialogue to like it, and I'm not sure the story can take too many repeated viewings to hold interest.

Also, The Illusionist did have the great unfortuncy to be released in theaters just before The Prestige, to which it should be noted it does not even hold a candle to (though if you like the magic to remain more a mystery, you may like the open ended feel of The Illusionist's take more...)

Lady in the Water - PG-13 Excellent movie. More depth (odd to say for an M. Night movie) or more mythic involvement might've made it near perfect, but you take it as it is... a fun fairy tale set in a dults normal, cynic worldview. I don't understand all the hate for it. September 14, 2008

Old School - R I'm not sure it technically deserves 4 stars, but it etched itself so well into my cultural consciousnss so well anyway, heh. September 14, 2008

Poolhall Junkies - R A pretty fun underrated little piece. September 14, 2008

Gladiator - R Mostly excellent, but drags on in bits. Be prepared to want to pay attention to an epic length movie that has a... less than epic story. September 14, 2008

Men in Black - PG-13 A fun 90s classic, though I hate the dirty 90s look of things. September 14, 2008

The Road to El Dorado - PG Um... wow. The music was HORRIBLE... and just no. Don't. September 14, 2008

The Bourne Supremacy - PG-13 Not as good as the first one if I'm remembing right, but it's still a cool movie. It would get another half star easy if the fricking camera would stay still for half a damn second... September 14, 2008

The Sixth Sense - PG-13 I don't know why the ending was so unexpected for everyone, but this movie is awesome anyway. September 14, 2008

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - PG I believe this HP movie had the most easily adapted movie format. It moved along the smoothes of them, in my opinion, and I appreciated it. September 14, 2008

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - PG-13 It's a fun, magical movie. Nothing amazing but, you know, it's just a sweet spot sort of thing. September 14, 2008

300 - R It was Mantastic. Don't go if you don't want 2 1/2 hours of artistic violence. If you do, you might want to go twice. September 14, 2008

The 40 Year Old Virgin - R Hee hee, I love it. Not as bad as the name might imply. While it is crude, it actually endorses morals, believe it or not. One of the few plot-driven comedies I've enjoyed. September 14, 2008

Jackie Chan's Who Am I? (Wo shi shei) - PG-13 You're Jackie Chan buddy. Can we make a better movie now please? August 8, 2008

Fulltime Killer - R I was entertained by it, but I was expecting more. July 26, 2008

Lucky Number Slevin - R I really enjoyed it, actually. I almost wanna give it 4 stars because I wouldn't mind seeing it again, but I think the storyline would be old by that point (and not because it's masterfully written).

The dalogue is witty enough you can sit back and enjoy it, but those expecting intensely clever raports like, say, Snatch or Fight Club...are expecting a bit too much. It's more of a let wash over you and relax repetoire than draw you in type.

The storyline is slowly unraveled to from a somewhat complex little weave, but it's not mind-blowing. Simply interesting. And fun.

The acting is subdued, but well suited to its style, I believe. And you care just enough about the characters to be pleased with the outcome but still follow it as realistic to the plot.
