Los Cronocrímenes (Timecrimes)
by scottexellent film, a man, enjoying a piecefull day at his countryside home, spots a naked girl in woods behind house, he investigates, and is atacked by a masked man, he runs, and comes across a lab, and generously a lab tec helps him out, and hides him, but what apears to be a time machine, he comes back out, a few hours before. and so begins a great story and plot devices, just like marty in back to the future 2, has to put right, andalso set up events to guide his other self to carry on timeline, and from there a great adventure, great suprises, and not at all complicated, great scenes again seen from other him, filling in all the mysteries, set up before, this grabbed me from beginning to end, with great central performances, the film never gets stupid, or over top, as even though itstime travel, the situations seem real, a superb, film anda exellent suprise

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra
by MarkIdiotic action thriller pits an elite counter-terrorist team code-named G.I. Joe against the evil forces of the organization known as Cobra. This noisy special effects extravaganza bears little resemblance to the Hasbro toy of the 60s and is based rather on the Marvel comic book series, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, which ran from 1982 to 1994. No one expects the script based on a toy franchise to be Shakespeare. Let's face it, the cartoon series had better character development. What's so shocking, however, is how bad the computer animation appears. There are a lot of visual effects in this film and most of it looks fake. Two positives: The hilariously affected style in which Cobra Commander delivers his lines throughout the film and the amusing way complicated problems are presented and solved within seconds. These make the film tolerable, but just barely.

I recommend you see...The book "Veronika Decides to Die" is one of the most motivating and moving story that I have ever read. So... I took the chance to check this USA adaptation (there is an Asian that I haven't seen) and I have to admit it is a good and beautiful movie with a positive message to remember for your whole life. Gellar portraits Veronica very good. The direction is good and there are some stylish scenes that are quite beautiful.
Great movie for adults and teenagers too.

Gamer
by OviWow what a rush. Positively surprised by everything that IS this movie. Twice the better premise and plot than Crank, more gore, really good cast , some seriously fucked up interesting parts, and a very good combination between sci-fi and action.
From the trailer i thought..hmm Death Race + Crank = Gamer. I can 100% tell you this is not the case. While they might seem similar in blood pumpin action they are very different in storyline, basic idea, cast and script. Can't imagine where did the writers come up with this bitchin' idea for a film, but this movie has so much and every little thing can be interpreted or described if you wish in many ways. Here's some words to simply describe it: warning ,freedom, euphoria, apathy, sex, hate, love, and the basic idea of this whole movie, dezinhibition...and list could go on. The cast also surprised me pleasantly, well i had an advantage, i didn't watch any trailer for this movie, just saw the cast here on Flixster and i definitely had to watch it. Totally exhilarating, thrilling and dare i say quite original (not the idea, of course it's been done) but everything else seems new and yet familiar...either way it's a good feeling and personally left me wanting to see it again, probably will these days. So yeah this i recommend. Cheers & Enjoy!posted 27 days ago -

Fantastic Mr. Fox
by MarkCharming animated film based on a Roald Dahl book about a sly fox that tries to outwit three feeble-minded farmers who want him killed. Utilizes exquisite stop-motion puppets that recall the Rankin/Bass productions of the 60s. Its quiet charm sucks you in and holds you for the entire 87 minutes. This intelligently written, well acted comedy is captivating. Director Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums) has a surprising talent for this type of material. In fact, his quirky style invigorates the story and elevates the source material to something wholly unique: a family film enjoyed more by adults than children. You'll be smiling throughout.

Year One
by MarkRambling mishmash about a pair of cavemen who go on a journey after being banished from their primitive village. Disorganized mess is a lazily written buddy film without cohesion. No plot, but more or less a series of tepid jokes united by biblical events. Frequently wallows in disgusting gross out humor. Makes director Mel Brooks' similarly vulgar spoof History of the World, Part I seem like sophisticated satire by comparison. Only actor Oliver Platt as a high priest manages to illicit a few chuckles. Director Harold Ramis, who also co-wrote this dreck, hits rock bottom. Desperate.

I recommend you see...This review will self-destruct in five seconds... Just kidding, enjoy my latest movie review; it's Tom Cruise starring in Mission: Impossible.
Mission Impossible
by ErikExpect the impossible. A former Russian spy selling international intelligence on the black market... A list containing names of the top undercover agents in the world... A corrupt agent doubling for an unknown organization... A mysterious arms dealer... A spy agency ready to disavow the actions or existence of any of its members captured or killed... And one man on a mission which seems impossible... Starring the great acting performances by Tom Cruise, Emmanuelle Beart, Henry Czerny, and Jean Reno.
Flixster - Share Movies
By listening to the familiar Mission: Impossible theme I always feel like I want to watch this spy action thriller featuring great action sequences such as the memorable tunnel chase that has been in my head since watching a bit of it back in its video release. The film is great and all, though there are mostly dramatic scenes with dialogue between the characters. In spite of this it's not at all that bad; Mr. Cruise does his notable performance as secret agent Ethan Hunt, who is framed for the deaths of his espionage team. And I can say this is a film that is fun to see for the thrills!posted 30 days ago -
I recommend you see...http://fastfilmreviews.wordpress.com/2009/11/24/bad-lieutenant-port-of-call-new-orleans/
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
by MarkActor Nicolas Cage's loopy performance highlights this interesting portrait of a New Orleans Police officer investigating the murder of a family of African immigrants. Not a sequel to director Abel Ferrara's 1992 film, but rather a variation on the same theme with different characters. Certainly director Werner Herzog's most mainstream picture, it starts out as a rather scattered crime story, jumping from one vignette to another. As it progresses however it develops into an enjoyable caricature of the genre, a portrait of a renegade cop without a moral compass. No one one plays crazy like Nicolas Cage, and when he does, it can either entertain or irritate. Luckily, this time, his offbeat behavior enlivens the action considerably.

I recommend you see...I really like movies that deal with the subject of this one. "Triangle" is like UK version of a 2007's movies from Spain... I won't tell you the name because I don't want to spoil it but when you watch it and if you have seen the other (obviously) you will see they are very similar, including the same plot hole.
The present movie is from the director who brought you "Creep" and "Severance" both in my opinion good pieces of horror films that worth checking and this one is not the exception. The lead actress delivers good acting the rest of the cast did a decent work. The camera work and visual are very good. There is some gore that are fair balanced with the suspense.
In conclusion, it is an engaging puzzle that keep you entertained from start to end.

The Hangover
by OviWow this movie is crazy funny. It's absolutely hilarious, every fun part in it is thoroughly thought and brilliantly performed by this awesome cast. Definitely among the best comedies i have seen in years. Step by step you get sucked into they're permanent screw-ups but amazed in the meantime of what really really REALLY fucked up guys can do one night in Vegas. Such a perfectly picked cast that clearly has made outstanding chemistry together.
It has action, humor, a little bit of romance but the creme-de-la-creme being the very ending of this masterpiece...the truth revealed, and it's crazy fucked up awesome.
I'd truly recommend it for any age, anytime, anywhere. After this review i'l watch it again.

Minotaur
by OviThis movie is total crap, minotaurs are amazing mythological beasts but this is one huge hunk of meat with horns on a blood drive. Plot not existent (well ok maybe a little but a very poor one), effects like my grandpa (not that it's necessarily a bad thing). Probably one of those lower than low budget movies with a mindless idea. I'm surprised Rutger Hauer was in it..ahh well....Enjoy, or Don't!

Inkheart
by OviI'd have to agree on this with most Flixster fans, it is definitely dedicated for the younger population, but the kid in everyone might at least find it enjoyable. The idea is captivating from the very beginning, the action and the effects are good too, but probably the most important thing in this movie is the magic and when magic tale beasties are involved you might doubt the very essence of the movie, totally not the case here, maybe cuz it's Brendan Fraser and he's the likeable sort and the fact that after his part in LOTR series i will never be able to see Andy Serkis other than Gollum, i kept waited for him to say.."my precious" which was fun...for me.
Ok so not sure if i'd watch it again too soon but someday sure, why not. Enjoy!posted 32 days ago
