Once Upon a Time in the West (C'era una volta il West) - PG-13 Cheyenne: "Hey, Harmonica, when they do you in, pray it's somebody who knows where to shoot..."

Sergio Leone's Western Extravaganza, simply the best beside his The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Sherlock Holmes - PG-13 It's no more your Grandfather's Sherlock Holmes, this Guy Ritchie helmed Holmes features a tight script, powerful performances, unbelievable London mid-19 century settings and stunning visuals. Ritchie's new school take on an old school icon is respectful without being overly reverential, loud and fun without becoming dumb and hollow, talky but never slow, yet created another iconic role for Robert Downey Jr. December 26, 2009

The Hurt Locker - R Unbelievably brilliant and unexpectedly intense, Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker tells the story of a Bomb disarming team serving in the lines of Iraq. It is about Iraqi as in the same way as Saving Private Ryan is about WWII and Full Metal Jacket is about Vietnam, simply one the best and most believable war movies made these days. Avatar - PG-13 "You need to see Avatar in 3D just as much as you need to see The Red Shoes in colour, Apocalypse Now in surround sound or Casablanca on a screen larger than an iPod" - Brendon Connelly (/film)

Possibly the most expensive movie ever made in the history of Cinema never disappoint at all. James Cameron brings us a Fantasy, Drama, Romance, Action Adventure which revolutionize the way we see the Movies.

Avatar is shot in story but incredibly succeed with it's ultimate visual effects. Just see it on 3D, even only the last 40 mins of the movie worth your tickets. This is the way meant to be seen, experiencing the full visual works done by the most inventive Director working in the field. Highly recommended.

The Princess and the Frog - G Absolute Tour De Force. it's been long years since the last hand drawn Disney movie was made, and there it goes... The Winner of the year. Exceeds the expectations, by far far away. December 10, 2009

Zombieland - R Little Rock: Who's Bill Murray?
Tallahassee: ...I've never hit a kid before... I mean, that's like asking who Gandhi is.
Little Rock: Who's Gandhi?

Ninjas, Vampires and.... Zombies are striking Singapore Cinemas, and Zombieland and without a doubt most audiences' third choice, apart from Fan filled New Moon: The Rise of the Chiwawas, and that Rain show. (weak huh? )

Zombieland is creepy and extremely Funny at the same time. It's Hollywood's response to Shaun of the Dead. From Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls" opening credits to all the bloods and guts, Zombieland proofs that a Zombie genre is far from dead. A post apocalyptic, Romantic comedy beats as a pure breezy entertainment with a pinch of depth.

If you want a Road movie, with bloods and gore, pinched with a freewheeling comedy, this is a movie for you. Highly Recommended.

Ninja Assassin - R Raizo: "What's out there ?"
Kiriko: "A life."

Not even the beautiful Choreography and extreme graphic violence cannot help it's unnecessary handheld shots with an awful editing. James McTeigue, who helmed one of the best Comic Book adaptations, V for Vendetta, brought this mistitled, gory story on screen, which fails to attempt his predecessor.

Blame the cinematographer, and editor, otherwise, it's hell of a bloody movie to came out in years xD

12 Angry Men (Twelve Angry Men) - Unrated Juror #3: I'll kill him! I'LL KILL HIM!
Juror #8: You don't really mean you'll kill me, do you?

I checked out imdb's top 250 list and found 12 Angry Men on no. 8, a movie made in 50s, title sounds like a play, with no single female cast. 12 angry men is a brilliant film. The script, the cinematography, actings, character development, everything is superb. If you think you've seen a good quality movie without seeing this one, think again. Highly recommended, see it on DVD, on demand or Torrent or whatsoever.

2012 - PG-13 As big as the planet Earth just and as cheesy, Roland Emmerich's new disaster movie still lacks a strong script just to support it's massive visual effects and 2:40 hrs running time. Is this the worst movie of 2009 ? No. Is this as sucks as his previous movie 10,000 B.C ? No. Is it worth for $6 cash with a few popcorns ? Yes. Apart from predictable plot, unfunny jokes, annoying characters and pretty awful dialogues, 2012 promises a fun ride. Minor Spoilers: It's not the end of the world my friend, it's just how the rich people survives the Apocalypse. November 12, 2009

Paranormal Activity - R Not the scariest Movie I've ever seen, but simply the scariest American Movie indeed. It's original, edited superb and it's scary. The only thing better in the Cinema hall is the sound system and the big screen. I recommend to watch on DVD or on demand with a couple of friends other than sharing this Movie in a hall with hundreds of people. That's really gonna give more hype to the whole house thingy.

(Spoilers) The ending is different from the online leaked version and most people got cheesed out by that, and realized I'm the only one among hundreds who shouted like a gal.

Pulp Fiction - R I could publish a book just to define the term "Brilliant" for Pulp Fiction. It's a Cult Classic, Multi Plot, thrill ride, a masterpiece gangster flick written and directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Small Time Robber couples, 2 career criminals, Big Boss' mistress, Double crossing boxer, 2 rapists,

Inglourious Basterds - R In Nazi occupied France, two stories collide where a Jewish refugee girl witnesses the massacre of her Family and sore revenge to the Col. Hands Landa, on the other hand, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis.

As for starters and non-Tarantino fans, this will surely annoy with violence and the themes he used in the film, but it sure is a Go for the fans. Of course nothing in the movie is possible, except that it’s so bloody entertaining. The usual extreme long take dialogues, the Ennio Morricone music, and brilliant cinematography.

Christoph Waltz's performance as the Nazi Col. Hans Landa, is possible for an Oscar nomination, as he had performed one of the remarkable villains in the history of Cinema.

It's everything Quentin Tarantino and a lot more, a WWII tale like you've never seen before.

Moon - R 2009 is a great year for Science Fiction, alongside with Star Trek, District 9 and Moon. Moon is a blended vision of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien, it is weill crafted, well acted, A Tour De Force performance by Sam Rockwell. Super highly recommended for art house lovers, this is a must-see. September 3, 2009

Burma VJ: Reporter i et Lukket Land (Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country) - Unrated In some point of view, it's hardly a movie, it's more like a bootlegged youtube video. Thanks to the powerful narrative and never before seen footages that makes the story a thrilling ride. Denmark director Anders Ostergaard assembles the footages from the Slums of Rangoon to the roads of Chiang Mai, and delivers it on big screen. Remarkable, Brilliant and chilling Documentary. The Final Destination - R Even a pair of Heavy 3D glasses cannot help the franchise going down hill. The story is predictable along the way, from the opening credits to the ending. There may have some fun on 3D screen popping up sharp edges to your face, but when you gonna see it normal, it'll be full of Sh*t.. August 27, 2009

District 9 - R District 9 is the best science fiction film to come along in ages, definitely the most thrilling film of the summer, and quite possibly the best film I've seen all year. This low budget, Peter Jackson produced film features unknown Director, whom now known as Neill Blomkamp , and never before seen actors brings a fast paced, blood splattered, kick-ass science fiction story. The "wow" factor is huge so much so that it would be easy to overlook what a soulful, tragically heroic story it is.

If you're willing to see quality visuals, thrilling story line, powerful performances, clean and clever action cuts, and a science fiction film like you've never seen before, this is the Movie you should not miss an inch. Otherwise, go see again G.I Joe, and enjoy Serena Miller's boobs.

Orphan - R It's the only Movie that made me wowed in 2009. Original, clever, scary, compelling and cult. The film centers on a couple who, after the death of their unborn child, adopt a young girl named Esther who is hiding a dark secret behind her sweet façade.

The film opens like usual thrillers, with scare alerts and false alarms. It then turned out to vanishing nuns and burning treehouses. The whole film is so completely crafted and superbly acted, especially by the three central females. You'll probably not find another great thriller like Orphan again this year.

Highly recommended for horror fans, and cult movie lovers, you'll need to celebrate for this origin of a new horror franchise.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - PG-13 I've always admired Stephen Sommers for his visions on the original Mummy and Van Helsing, but now he turned out to be a bond of Michael Bay and The Wachowski Brothers. It may not be a great movie, but it sure is a fun ride, surely worth for $6. 1 star for the Cobra Commander, 1 for Snake Eyes and 1 for the flipping cars. August 5, 2009

Public Enemies - R It's the "Heat" in the 1933, from the same director Michael Mann. This is also the Jesse James of 2009, which told the last days of real time Bank robber in the great depression era, John Dillinger, as potrayed by Jonny Depp. Mann brings back his Shaky Cam, Badass dialouges and awesome shootouts, which always makes his movies on the high level of reality. The casting is superb, Christian Blae and Marion Cotillard played their roles perfectly. Highly recommended. July 26, 2009

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - PG The franchise takes on a darker theme, it's neither a Potter classic nor another adventurous story, but it's hell of a stepping stone. it has wondrous art designs and cinematography which makes you feel you're not watching the same franchise back in 2001.

It's well written, well acted and possibly the best directed Potter movie ever. I don't believe in Magic, but I do believe in Movie Magic, and Half Blood Prince is packed with it.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - PG-13 Michael Bay thinks of Dynamites, ILM and badass Cars when Paramount green lights the Transformers sequel, other than a Perfect Script. The Movie consists 50 robots in 147 mins running time, 100 ft tall giants banging in super shaky cam, annoying screen characters, chiwawa humping a Pitbull frm the back, A Decepticon humping Megan Fox's legs, & two ugly robots who won the Jah Jah Binks awards of 2009. So the question is, Is it the worst movie of the summer? Possibly. Will everybody see it? Probably. The whole summary is... Big amount of visual effects, Enormous Explosions, pointless Plot, annoying Mama & one hot chick. June 23, 2009

Drag Me to Hell - PG-13 Sam Raimi is back with a blast. It's more Entertaing than Scary, proves that Raimi's visions truely belongs to the Horror franchise. This is what he meant his movie to be and this is what it is. Even if Drag Me to Hell isn't particularly scary, even if it idly disregards its potential, it's been a long time since a horror movie of such obvious wit and loving theatrics hit theaters, highly recommanded, Solid 93% on RT meter & Roger Ebert likes it, what you'll need more ?
