The Happening - R (Warning:Some Spoilers Ahead)
I've sensed it, I've wore a rain coat, I've seen the signs, I've been twisted like never been twisted b 4 when I first saw that van in the Village, I've seen Shyamalan saves the day. But is it really happening? Is the talents of Shyamalan sinking deep into the Ocean? Let's take a look.....

The first 10 mins of the movie opens with non-stop death scenes , no explainations, no warnings, people are just beginning to freeze then trying to kill themselves in all possible ways. The government authorities blame the terrorists, toxic chemicals spread into the air. But it's Shyamalan....everybody knows he have unexpected twisted endings & talents to scare people.

Honestly, some scenes really did scares me.... unfortunately 3 or 4 only. Shyamalan sometimes tried to be apart of Wes Craven and John Carpenter but he still dun wanna leave that Stanley Kubrick's cold blooded styles.

The Similarities between other Shyamalan Movies......
1)Actings are bad as usual.
2)Camera works are still cool.
3)Some plots still childish.
4)Still scares the shit of me.
5)The opening credits.

Differences between otther Shyamalan movies........
1)The gore, oh yes.... bite my hands, cut my wrists.
2)Unbelievably he's not in the Movie
3)The ending, come on..... Plants Vs. Humans???? give us more mystrious & lethal reasons.

Happening

The Happening is not a comeback for Shyamalan, & simply not as good as it could have been. Critics will tear it apart, people who don't know Shyamalan will be still "What The Hell Is That?", But nevertheless, I still forgive Shyamalan for the chills he had given me in The Sixth Sense & Signs. Next stop....Nickelodeon's Avatar, come back or not he surely needs a co-writer.

The Incredible Hulk - PG-13 Lee Ang's (Asian name) version is long tempoed, heavily drama, more emotions & more Zzzzs.....for a Movie ,that version is a better one, but if you're expecting CGI filled action scenes, more A list stars, & more Marvel influenced Comic hero Movie, this one will eat your hearts out.

Edward Norton is perfectly fit for Bruce Banner like Cristian Blae & Robert Downey Jr. fit for Bruce Wayne & Tony Stark. The story line is as simple as hell. Good guys want him for good, bad guys, hence the military is for Evil, & our hero is the one who'll stuck in the middle & then saves the day. Needless to say the next Hulk Movie will be the smack down between two Marvel Heroes.

Kung Fu Panda - PG Solid 4 stars, it's the best animated movie so far since last year's Ratatouille. When the legendary baddie escapes from prison trying to reveal the secrets of the famous dragon scroll, the time has come to choose the Dragon warrior, bringing the peace to the valley & to master shifu. then our hero had been accidentally chosen as the one, but as it says " there are no accidents", he will have to face his legend that will only strike upon him.

Simply the best from Dreamworks since Shrek, it's not only eye-popping, but also to yr minds & ears. In other words, nice animations, a good plot & great sound effects. & yes...Jack Black rocks...even if this is his 2nd voice character for animated Movies.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - PG Quite a fun ride , but not as fun as I expected to be. It is indeed bigger, longer, darker & more CGI filled. The Movie is 145 mins long which is nearly 2:30 hrs. The scenes are electrified by amazing New Zealand landscapes. Is the franchise sinking too soon? Hell no, we're still waiting to see more & more of Narnia stuff.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - PG-13 Yes, the whole 2008's gonna be soo great if it is fill with Movies like this one, not as good as Raiders, not as dark as the Temple, & not as fun filled as the Crusade, but it's too damn good to continue the franchise. Spielberg said in Comic Con,"I promise, I've done this Movie for you guys", he proves that everything he said is true.

It's not only Harrison Ford & Steven Spielberg, who boosted the franchise back in action, from Cate Blanchett, John Hurt to Shia LaBeouf, each & every characters have done wonderful performances in a matter of 124 mins, it's not classic but worth everything for a Indy fan.

There has been many CGI filled movies ILM has made, but unlike this one, others have been suffered from the lack of good Cinematography, a good example goes to last year's POTC 3. But this Movie is like eat the action type, will serve you great camera works, eye popping visual effects, a 100% satisfaction for Indy fans.

Paramount & ILM has done it again....after Iron Man's smashing hit. It simply made 2008 ,the year of flesh eating Ants.

Speed Racer - PG Cars look cool , Colors look vivid & impressive , with Eye-popping special effects. But are they everything what this Movie is about? The Answer is unfortunately Yes. The new Wachowski flick is nothing but an eye candy. Forgettable plot, weak characters, overacted Reporters, yet another failure for Warner Bros.

Son of Rambow - PG-13 A powerful tale of friendship, dreams & family matters. The story is based in England of the 80s , where young Will , a shy , quiet , artistic & religious boy unexpectedly befriended with Carter, a neglected youngster from their school. Later they became blood brothers when they decided to make Home made action Movies on their own, using their own equipments .

Those sudden things completely changes the young boy's friendships, life & families ,making the weak becoming strong & once the useless life of Carter became with hopes & loves.

Honestly, I was blown away by the performances of those new comers , as it was a breath of fresh air . After all, this is an innocent family adventure stuff which will be titled classic in years forward .

Iron Man - PG-13 2007 has been a cheesy year for Superhero movies, starting from Spidy 3 to Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider, blah blah blah. & now 2008 opens with this fun-filled, action-packed, fit for the whole family kind of Superhero Movie,& yes, it's Iron Man.

Marvel's last but not the least super hero is unexpectedly fit for a cinema ride, while big name Fantastic Four is still struggling in the mud. The plot is unnatural & imaginative but it does go well with the characters & origins.

The CGI, lightning effects , Robert Downey Jr. everything is needless to say hot.Extra props must be given to Gwenth Palthrow, sound effects, & the Afghan war zone show-down cos they surprises me with full potential.

Photobucket

Although this Iron Man's beginning is no nearer as great as Batman Begins , it's still a good superhero movie to begin a summer. Hope the upcoming Hulk will be like this too.

The Forbidden Kingdom - PG-13 This is the first ever Jet / Jackie Movie & it worked out pretty well, both critically & domestically and among fans. Thumbs up for Rob Minkoff who's on a way to convert Lion King into the Monkey King.

The story is loosely based on Chinese forever told Legend Su Wukong. They added up the American dude not only to break through the western markets but also to deliver a nice east-west combination on screen. Only, they solved the language problem by letting them speak both Chinese & English, lol.

The more the movie went deeper, the better the fight scenes became. 10 mins+ Jet Li Vs. Jackie Chan fight scene made audiences a bit of satisfaction as it had never ever been seen anywhere.

As for the CGI part, well this is the kind of way which the kung fu Movies must be made. Not as many as Stephen Chow or as nothing as Donnie Yen. As Lord Buddha's saying "Always use the middle way", & this is the Way. Hoping to see more of JJ stuff XD

Street Kings - R The Cast-Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker , Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans & many other familiar casts, The Actors are needless to say awesome, Let's look at the crew.....David Ayer, the writer who brought U great cop Movies like Training Day, S.W.A.T. The Movie itself? Well..... as for a Keanu fan, it was quite a fun ride.

Keanu plays as a LAPD veteran Tom Ludlow, who was stuck between the unexpected murderer of his ex-partner Cop, Washinton. It's been a year to wait strong black & white characters fighting on screen in both physically & psychologically since 2006's Inside Man.

If you wanna catch cool "bang bangs", & good performances from Hollywood's top badasses, or if you're a die heard Keanu fan, this is the one not to be missed,or else..... don't waste your precious time,This is not another Training Day.

El Orfanato (The Orphanage) - R Although the Movie may not be the Pan's Labyrinth of 2007,it can easily be included in one of the best Horror Movies ever made. The story is needless to say interesting, twists & turns looks stylish & original, the actings, the cinematography, the music......this Movie can guarantee you everything you could ever get on a good Horror Movie.

The fact that makes this Movie very stylish & scary is that they made everything as realistic as possible. The ghosts & unnatural events can only be seen as sudden images,& believe me they'll give a full description on the appearance of that masked kiddo.

Photobucket

Overall, the Movie is like The Shining & The Ring mashed up in a very pleasant way.I'm seeing a bright future for Spanish cinema, can't wait to see more of Guillermo stuff.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - R Brad Pitt & Casey Affleck,my favorite duo of 2007. Both performances are beyond awesome, especially Casey Affleck,he's gonna hold an Oscar award earlier than is brother.

The story is needless to say as the title describes all."The Assassination.....".It's about the last days of the 19th century Robin Hood,Jesse James. How he was assassinated by his die hard fan,Robert Ford. This 2 hr & 45 min Movie is deeply & constantly moving, building up the emotions till the end.A historic assassination that was never brought up on screen before,& Andrew Dominik did it in an admirable way.Who ever thought the hands of an Aussie director can make a western Movie in a new taste.

Photobucket

The Cinematographic,am I been too care for Cinematographic or it is really need to be care about?"The Assassination..." deserves an Oscar for both Cinematographic & Casey Affleck. Those camera works are the only ones that make this Movie different from any other assassination Movies or Westerns. Most shots are combined with dreamy & beautiful landscapes. The dialog scenes look clear & emotional, especially the ones between Jesse & Bob.

From now on my eyes will be on Director Andrew Dominik as this is his second feature Film & it looks damn good.Highly Recommended.

Oldboy - R I'm giving 5 stars for it's originality. There are lots & lots of revenge Movies making nowadays,Hollywood,Bollywood, you name it.I've never watched Chan-wook Park Movies before,& Oldboy hit me hard.

Oh Daesu is an ordinary man living with his wife & his 3 years old daughter. He was then mysteriously taken and imprisoned in a private prison. They provide a bed,a barthroom, daily meals & a T.V.At night, music tone comes off followed by some Russian Gases that were used on prisoners. He then fall asleep, had a hair cut & hypnotized. His life continues exactly like this for 15 long years. He was then released with a phone & a wallet full of cash.He still had no idea who prisoned him.

Photobucket

He then realized that he is the top suspect on the death of his wife. His daughter was also adopted by some Europe parents.Once a drunken man became a man of vengence.

The Movie take you slowly to the ending scene,a scene that reveals all the secrets of the Movie.Who prisoned Oh Dsesu? Why he prisoned him?But "Who" had been described since the pre-middle parts,a rich man named Lee Woo-jin,that looks like an ordinary 25 years old man."Why" is simple but strange.& the main twist of this movie is "How".In what way Lee Woo-jin takes revenge on Oh Daesu.Revealing that twist will be like watching "Saw" & knowing that Tobin Bell is lying on the bathroom floor.

The Movie itself is Violently & Sexully explict.& there is a scene where Oh Daesu fight against many baddies along the corridor. It's a non-stop,single camera shot, which looks so real.So....what is the Oldboy?Better judge yourself....

10,000 B.C. - PG-13 All I can say is Bad,bad bad.Except for eye-popping visual effects & Camilla Belle, the Movie is a pure disappointment.I was surprised by how Roland Emmerich can disappeared for 4 years & make this suck ass Movie.

Honestly,I am not quite familiar with the Egypt history when & how the Empire was built & destroyed. But I'm sure that the Empire was not destroyed by groups of ancient tribes who are going mad for their loved ones. The Movie must change the title from "10,000 BC" to "An Ancient Love Hunt".

The story line is nothing but Heroes Vs. Villains, plus some uneven mysterious events. It seems like blue-eyed girls were nowhere to be found in those days. Two grown up big guys are fighting like kiddies to hang out with Camilla Belle.lol...

Photobucket

Alright, here is the latest announcement for Roland Emmerich.Godzilla is not your worst Movie, this is the one. It's like Lord Of The Rings meets Apocalypto in a very unpleasant way.<2nd sigh>

There Will Be Blood - R Brilliant performances, amazing story,& a scary theme, these three things can easily make this Movie one of the Bests of 2007.

Each & every characters were built up perfectly in a period of 158 mins. The Cinematography,Film editing,Sound editing are needless to say good. All 3 Daniel Day-Lewis Vs. Paul Dano scenes looks gruesome & compelling.

So,better give Daniel Day-Lewis an Oscar or there will be blood...

L: Change the World - Unrated A fine prequel for Death Note fans.Although the story may a little different from other Death Note Movies,it also have it's potential to keep up the genre.

The story revolves around "L",a strange mastermind trying to save mankind in a period of 23 days after he wrote his name on The Death Note.Hence, the story is completely based on the last days of "L".If you're a fan of seeing that Emo guy doing crazy stuffs on screen, this Movie is a must-see.

death note

Although the storyline is predictable & not much of suspense, the remarkable performances & heart warming scenes can easily fill up those messes.Highly recommended for Death Note fans,a well made Japanese thriller good enough to keep both Cinema ticket & DVD voucher in your pocket.

Jumper - PG-13 Some says"Fool's Gold sucks, wait for Jumper".So I wait for this one.Is that worth a wait?Well,if you're a fan of Hayden, that 88 mins will be full of surprises. If not,well...it's still ok to spend your 88 mins watching two people teleporting around the world non-stop.It's not a bad Movie,it's just way too far to be unforgettable.

The Movie is well Cast start from Heavy weights like,Hayden Christensen,Samuel L. Jackson to Super Teenage guest stars like Annasophia Robb,Max Thieriot & Khristen Stewart. The O.C hottie Rachel Bilson proves that she can be perfectly fit for upcoming Hollywood big projects,& Jamie Bell, who ever thought that Kong guy can be seen as a badass on the screen?Director Doug Liman then team up with the master of superhero writer David S. Goyer and covert the 1992 Novel onto the screen. Unfortunately, the Movie doesn't go as well as expected...

The Movie opens with the young life of Christensen character David Rice, how he bacame involve in that Jumping matter. His mother left him with his drunk father when he turned 5.After spending 8 sweet years, stealing several Banks,he then realize that he is one of the "Jumpers" in the world trying to survive in the War alongside with the "Paladin organization",who are being killing the Jumpers over thousand years. The organization is now being lead by Roland Cox,who is filled with jealousy & brutal mind among the Jumpers.

Photobucket

Our hero came back home when he was unexpectly attacked by Roland. Then hang out with his high school hottie Millie Harris, played by Rachel Bilson & AnnaSophia Robb. The Paladins track them down to Rome & try to terminate the Jumpers that are still existing on Earth.David Rice meets another same ability friend Griffin, who is also trying to survive among the Paladins. Then Millie makes the War more adventurous by being caught by Pladin leader Roland.By that time,Griffin is making a secret weapon that can kill the Pladins by clicking only a button. He don't care whether Millie's gonna be dead or not if he pressed that button. Then two heroes run around the World, chasing each other who's got the thing. Then David Rice ended up Griffin with high voltage wires in the middle of an unknown battlefront.(What a true friend). Then he faces all the Pladins & try to save Millie, but no one can beat him up,cos he's the strongest Jumper ever existed.(What a reason to fool the audiences)-The End.

The Movie surely does great stuffs on visuals but they need more on the Audio section.Honestly,I expected more of David S. Goyer's screen play, but I have no idea what happened on this one.But nonetheless, another watchable Action flick from Doug Liman, who has boosted out the Bourne origin.

Atonement - R Director Joe Wright & his team shows how the novels can be perfectly put onto the screen. It is truly a tough project for him to convert Ian McEwan's highly acclaimed Novel from pages to screen. He has done it,& it is a good inspiration,a damn good one.

Honestly, among the hot Oscar runner-ups of 2007,this Movie is truly a fast moving & heat thrilling ride.I've seen a bad haired psycho guy blowing off heads with his Pressure Pump,An Emo barber who lost his way through seeking revenge, then,a high class fixer fighting against a badass company, but not a tragic tale of Jealous & Lies.

This Movie is about how Jealous & Lies can lead up three people into the deepest parts of life. When the under aged sister received a letter from her secret crush, accidentally written about the Adult matters of her sister, she then judges him as the sex Monster who means nothing but bad. After facing several coincidences, she then becomes an important witness of her under aged cousin's sudden rape case. Then she did the thing which makes her full of regrets until her last times.

This highly drama Movie can still be more of the same if doesn't include Twists & turnings. These only concepts make this Movie stylish & memorable, like the double shots between Robbie & Cecilia.Cinematographics are also thrilling & admirable. They shot the beach scene that takes about 10 mins non-stop,unlike the shaky ones in Alfonso Cueron's Children Of Men.

Photobucket

The performances are priceless from Keira Knightly to new comer Saoirse Ronan. The time has came upon Scottish-accented James McAvoy to be listed as Hollywood's "A" stars. The last & the most important thing about this movie is the music, the first time I seen it I thought it's gonna win something, now they're giving Golden Globe for it.That type writer rhythm deserves an Oscar.

Atonement is one of my favorite Love stories of 2007,besides Gone Baby Gone & Juno.

Rambo (Rambo IV) - R As for a Burmese,I don't think twice to spend my precious 1hr & 33 mins to watch Rambo IV.This is the first Rambo Movie without Richard Crenna,& the first one that syl didn't shown off his 6 packs or 8 packs.& also the shortest one.

The Movie opens with some footages that are happening in Burma, truth & scary ones. Then the life condition of our old school,Rambo, how he is struggling to forget the past & starts a new one at the Thailand border. Then A group of Christian human rights missionaries asked Rambo to help them breaching into Burmese border.Their mission is to help the Karen tribes who are always being brutally tortured by the government soldiers.

After reaching the Karen village,it had been stormed by the soldiers who just want to do nothing but throwing bombs into the fields & forcing the prisoners to run through again & again until the bodies blown off.The story then continues in old fashioned rescuing style.Some....againts hundreds. Then Rambo saved the day.

The movie itself is physically & psychologically brutal starting from the opening scene to the last non stop battle scene. It got heads chopped off, guts comes off, legs blown off,& some other things. The battle scenes seems so shaky, noisy & blood overflown & the Movie seems super different from the previous Rambos. In this movie he shot about total 6 or 7 arrows, uses a pistol, cut off one head, ripped off a soldier's throat, blown up the WWII bomb, then happily spent the last show down by standing on the military truck & shooting the machine gun until the grounds turns red. Then end the show by stabbing the sadistic Major.Maybe he just realized that half-naked M60 carrier heroes never exist anymore.

Photobucket

Photobucket

There are also some problems with the burmese language,it really sounds childish & misleading. In the scenes when the burmese Major beating up the mercenaries,he was shouting"Why you guys want to involve in our country matter?",but they never showed up the subtitle. It seems like he was screaming for information.

when the Writer,Director,Producer,& Actor became a one big guy, you'll get Rambo IV.

The Mist - R From Frank Darabont & Stephen King, the dynamic duo who brought you two of the best prison Movies of all time,The Green Mile & The Swawshank Redemption. Now they have successfully boosted out another Horror & Drama wonders onto the screen once again.

The story is about a small town that was buried under mysterious Mists after having a night of brutal Storm. Then our hero David Drayton & his son Billy got stuck in a local supermarket, facing many people with different kinds of thoughts & opinions, some say it's a Chemical bomb,a Judgment Day,a natural disaster, but all the possibilities got mashed up after fighting with an unknown Tentacles in the loading bay.

"The Mist" first appears to be like another old school Invasion flick with bloods & guts, but the main potential of this Movie is that everything seems so realistic & emotional.Frank Darabont shows how people will certainly react if those things sudden happen in real life. The coincidences & fast thinking minds led the people easily fall into some believings that were hard to prove.

Marcia Gay Harden, who appears as,Mrs. Carmody, the over believer of God,she carries some unbelievable villain performances to make the Movie more interesting. The visual effects may seems a little weird in the tentacle fighting scene, but as the Movie goes on you'll then realized that effects are not the main theme of this Movie, then it's gonna be Ok.

As for me it is one of the most stunning Stephen Movies ever seen besides The Shining & The Green Mile.And......what an ending. The ending can stuck in the audiences heads easily with those Music & stunning performances of Tom Jane.
