WIDESCREEN. Una película muy hermosa y observadora. Es admirable su retrato de la ambición y el acto de "ir", aún en medio de circunstancias que hacen difícil "llegar". / A very beautiful and observant picture. It's remarkable in portraying the ambition and act of "going", even in the middle of circumstances that make it very hard to "get there".

Como "homenaje al arte de Anna Magnani", es realmente un despliegue impresionante de la actriz. Las dos historias son interesantes y muy bien dirigidas, sobre todo la segunda. / As a "hommage to the art of Anna Magnani" it is a really outstanding showcase of the actress. Both stories are interesting and very well directed, especially the second.

Respect: Its Polanski. Same person who brought us Rosemary's Baby and The Pianist. You should see this.
    Oliver Twist Oliver Twist
    by Ameeta
I have always respected the work of Roman Polanski. My beef with this version is that certain parts from the book that i considered were important was left out. Other than that, its a brilliant book to film adaptation. Set in 19th century london, this is about a young boy's adventures, in the realist sense. I was impressed with how entertaining i found this film. Ofcourse, Polanski is magic. A strong recommendation.

Workhouse Boy: [Woken by boy pacing back an forth] Tom, give it a rest will ya? We're trying to sleep.
Hungry Boy: Can't sleep. Too hungry.
    Workhouse Boy: We're all hungry.
Hungry Boy: Yeah, but I'm scared.
    Workhouse Boy: Scared? Of What?
Hungry Boy: I'm so hungry I'm scared I might eat the boy that sleeps next to me

A Kubrick masterpiece! This was originally released in 1973 and intially had a R rating, also had been banned from Britain for close to thirty years. Arent you curious as to find out why?
A Clockwork Orange A Clockwork Orange
    by Ameeta
''Goodness is something to be chosen. When a man cannot choose he ceases to be a man.''

Insane. but brilliant. Kubrick gives us a decent enough masterpiece. A clockwork orange has plenty to offer in terms of disturbing, horrifying violence, perverse acts, extreme emotions and all in all, plain weirdness. This is a story about a young man names Alex, played by Malcolm McDowell who is disturbed and very facinated with sex and all its appeal. He makes a very entertaining villain indeed. Faithful Wikipedia tells us that the title is taken from an old Cockney expression, "as queer as a clockwork orange", and alludes to the prevention of the main character's exercise of his free will through the use of a classical conditioning technique. A Clockwork Orange, which was originally released in 1973 intially had a R rating, had been banned from Britain for close to thirty years. Arent you curious as to find out why?

Alex: No. No! NO! Stop it! Stop it, please! I beg you! This is sin! This is sin! This is sin! It's a sin, it's a sin, it's a sin!
Dr. Brodsky: Sin? What's all this about sin?
Alex: That! Using Ludwig van like that! He did no harm to anyone. Beethoven just wrote music!
Dr. Branom: Are you referring to the background score?
    Alex: Yes.
Dr. Branom: You've heard Beethoven before?
    Alex: Yes!
Dr. Brodsky: So, you're keen on music?
    Alex: YES!
Dr. Brodsky: Can't be helped. Here's the punishment element perhaps.

fun black and white movie.it seems that directors can easily fool people with black and white style and remind them that they are watching a special piece of art and it always works for me too.beningni had a lovely character.everthing is symbolic but like other jarmush movies you can find out in first look because it has nothing else for distracting your mind.overall Down by law is wonderful and I recommend to see this

    Star Trek Star Trek
    by Ameeta
Its shocking but true, they've actually made a Star Trek film which is a Trek film through and through without disapointing the audience. My favorite elements; humour, great action, awesome special effects, a stella cast and great acting from all the main characters. Kudos to Zacchary Quinto and Chris Pine especially. Simon Pegg as Scottie and Eric Bana as Nero was defintely well chosen. THis is a film that anyone can watch if they enjoy sci-fi and not limited to those who know and adore the last 40+ years of Trek.
    Live Long and Prosper

Spock: You are, in fact, the Mr. Scott who postulated the theory of transwarp beaming?
Scotty: That's what I'm talkin' about! How do you think I wound up here? Had a little debate with my instructor on relativistic physics and how it pertains to subspace travel. He seemed to think that the range of transporting something like a... like a grapefruit was limited to about 100 miles. I told him that I could not only beam a grapefruit from one planet to the adjacent planet in the same system - which is easy, by the way - I could do it with a life form. So, I tested it out on Admiral Archer's prized beagle.
Kirk: Wait, I know that dog. What happened to it?
Scotty: I'll tell you when it reappears... Ahem. I don't know, I do feel guilty about that...

Another movie based on the book written by Dan Brown... If you haven't read the book, you would like this movie very much... Even if you already read the book, I think you'll still like it, just like me... =)
Angels & Demons Angels & Demons
    by Sanjaya
Well, before I saw this movie, my friends already told me that the movie version got a pretty big difference with the book, and that makes me a little disappointed, but my heart has no hesitation on it because I know Ron Howard was behind it... And what I saw after about 2 hours, I only have one word : "Magnificent!"... It is true that they have a pretty big difference from the novel, but for me who already read the novel for a couple times, I didn't annoyed with that... At least they still have the thrilling section and the twist they made is perfectly nice for the ending of this movie... Tom Hanks look more better in this movie that in Da Vinci Code, at least he had a haircut... Ayelet Zurer as Vittoria Vetra was ok, same as Ewan McGregor as Camerlengo who I doubt before... Overall, the movie's great, the story write with Dan Brown is brilliant, even they had a pretty big difference with the novel, but I'm ok with that... And the effects, it was stunning... If I haven't read the novel before, this movie could have a higher score and line up for my top 6 favorite movies of all time, but that already happened and I can't change that so this is the highest score I can give to a movie who was based on my favorite novel...

movies like son of the bride ,aura, xxy prove that cinema of argentina has improved specially in this decade.
son of the bride is a comedy drama about restarting the life in any situation.this movie contains few comedy/romance's common cliches but overal, original parts are more enough to make the some scene unpredictable.(2001 oscar nominee)

good psychological movie.class was an example of international society.but not as great as i thought.ofcourse director and screenwriter didnt make any mistake and they did a good job in portraying real world but its not my point actually they didnt take a big step.its easy that keep everything ok with short story line.always screenplays with a long story line are the big challenge for the directors.movies like the class can easily recieve positive reviews.but no one can be unforgettable.but im happy that atleast academy consider this point and gives award to movies like slumdog millionaire
