Vicky Cristina Barcelona
by Alessandro"Juan Antonio: American?
Cristina: I'm Cristina, and this is my friend Vicky.
Juan Antonio: What color are your eyes?
Cristina: Uh, they're blue.
Juan Antonio: Well, I'd like to invite you both to come with me to Oviedo.
Vicky: To come where?
Juan Antonio: To Oviedo. For the weekend. We leave in one hour.
Cristina: What- Where is Oviedo?
Juan Antonio: A very short flight.
Vicky: By plane?
Juan Antonio: Mmm-hmm.
Cristina: What's in Oviedo?
Juan Antonio: I go to see a sculpture, that is very inspiring to me. A very beautiful sculpture. You will love it.
Vicky: Oh, right. you're asking us to fly to Oviedo and back.
Juan Antonio: Mmmm. No, we'll spend the weekend. I mean, I'll show you around the city, and we'll eat well. We'll drink good wine. We'll make love.

by AlessandroThe documentary chronicles the present day state of the Earth, its climate and how we as the dominant species have long-term repercussions on its future. A theme expressed throughout the documentary is that of linkage?how all organisms and the Earth are linked in a "delicate but crucial" natural balance with each other, and how no organism can be self-sufficient.
The documentary can be watched here:

A History of Violence
by Alessandro"Yeah? Well, why don't you ask "Tom" about his older brother Ritchie, ask "Tom" how he once tried to rip my eye out with barbed wire. And ask him, Edie, how come he's so good at killing people."

Il Divo
by Alessandro"Well, Premier, is it by chance that the families of assassination victims hate you? Dalla Chiesa's son hates you. He says that you instigated his father's murder. Aldo Moro's wife hates you and holds you responsible for her husband's death. Does banker Roberto Calvi's wife hate you by chance? She said you threatened then ordered Calvi's murder. She says the Vatican Bank didn't kill him, but two people: Andreotti and Cosentino, who's also dead now. And I wonder, is it by chance that you were Interior Minister when the bandit Pisciotta was killed with a poisoned coffee? Maybe Pisciotta could have revealed the instigators of Giuliano's murder. Was banker Michele Sindona killed in the same way by chance? He too could have made some uncomfortable disclosures in prison. Is it by chance that everyone says you repeatedly protected Sindona? Is it by chance that Evangelisti, your deputy, met Sindona when he was on the run, at a toy shop in New York? Is it by chance that the Magistrate Viola says: If you hadn't protected Sindona, the Ambrosoli crime wouldn't have happened? Furthermore, you jot down everything scrupulously in your diary, so is it by chance that you forgot to write about the Ambrosoli crime? Is it by chance that from '76-'79, when you were Premier, all the secret service chiefs were members of the P2 Masonic lodge? Is it by chance that in your frequent meetings with P2 head, Licio Gelli, you talked exclusively about South American desaparecidos? That's what you said: Just friendly chit-chat. Finally, is it by chance that you've been dragged into nearly every scandal that's afflicted this country? And I'm omitting to mention all the suspects that allege your Mafia links. Basically, as Montanelli said: It's one or the other. You're either the most cunning criminal in the country because you never got caught or you're the most persecuted man in the history of Italy. So I'm asking: Are all these coincidences the fruit of chance or the will of God?"

Star Trek
by LindaHaving absolutely no knowledge about Star Trek, i thought the film was not bad at all. Of course, there must have been some part where i sort of got lost, but the story is well-developed so new comers could enjoy the film without any Star Trek background.
The cast was another aspect which really got the film going. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are a great duo! Simon Pegg added the humor within all the tension. And Eric Bana played a kickass villain.
Finally, the action was fantastic. It was what anticipated most from the film, which did not disappoint.
Overall, i think non-Star Trek fans will like the film, but i cannot speak for the hardcore fans!posted 189 days ago -

Battle in Seattle
by LindaAlthough the event was an important lesson for future manifestations across the globe, director Stuart Townsend fails to illustrate what his purpose in making the film is. However, as viewers, we understand that the demonstrators are fighting for the population whereas the political leaders are only interested in money.
Another important aspect in the film is that it depicts the WTO issues which are widely criticized, but not everyone is aware of its consequences.
Overall, two things. 1)Townsend should have made a documentary because there is much more to this WTO subject. 2) This film is a big smack in the face with this modern economic crisis!posted 199 days ago -
