Hey, you should really see this! I widely recommend this film to be seen in theaters.
The Dark Knight The Dark Knight
    by Linda
Once again director Christopher Nolan did not disappoint the audience with this dark masterpiece. THE DARK KNIGHT completes with BATMAN BEGINS. Although the running time of the film is quite long, the 2-hour and 30-minute will pass faster than expected.

The action is mind blowing. The story is very well-written. It is both very entertaining and smart. From the set to the camerawork, Nolan knows how to compose an atmosphere to a film in order to experience the world of the characters.

As for the acting, it is one of a few films which use an all-star cast for a good reason and not just to put them on screen. They all have their own moments in the film. It should also be mentioned that Christian Bale is Batman all the way. He beats any other portrayals of Batman. Maggie Gyllenhaal is a clearly a better choice as the female interest. Lastly, the astonishing performance by the late Heath Ledger is ,by far, his best performance ive ever seen. He is completely mad, hilarious and scary, all at the same time. He represents madness in every sense of the word and he portrays it so well that we just want to see more of The Joker.

THE DARK KNIGHT is one of the best superhero films, if not, the best ive seen. The story is complete. The action is spectacular. And watching Batman and The Joker going against each other is quite a ride.

I think its mainly pointing out the absurdities of racial profiling and stereotypes. The first one was pretty clever about it.

PERSEPOLIS is a simple animation that projects a powerful message of a young Muslim woman. The animation itself might seem simple and not original but the characters have a lot of personality which transport us through the film.

I'm Not There I'm Not There
    by Linda
I'M NOT THERE is a beautiful and interesting film inspired on different stages of Bob Dylan's life. The film is very abstract in terms of its structure because of the multiple characters portraying Bob Dylan. The cinematography is also stunning because it varies depending on the characters whether it is the early or late stage of the Dylan's career. The cast is also excellent. From the young Marcus Carl Franklin to a manly Cate Blanchett, every actor really had their own take of their character which makes each of them unique and interesting.

All in all, you might need to know a little of Bob Dylan history in order to fully understand the film, otherwise it will be a long film. But the astonishing performances and great music might also transport you to nice Dylan ride.

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

This film is so intense that i was sweating half the time, as were the characters of Seymour Hoffman and Hawke. Sidney Lumet created once again a very powerful film. The cast is just overwhelming. Seymour Hoffman, Hawke and Finney all together illustrated the best cast of 2007.
In one word, the film is intense.

No Country for Old Men No Country for Old Men
    by Linda
It is dark, strange, bloody, and ugly.
    It is a Coen film!
Easily one of their best films since FARGO.
Right from the getgo, the film starts with your nails stuck in the chair without expecting anything. And it continues on until the end.
The most amazing aspect of this film, besides the cast and script, it is the silence. No score or music was accompanied during the film which emphasizes the suspense. But the feeling that Javier Bardem's character is breathing down your neck is enough to give you shivers, especially with the oxygen tank.
As for the cast, Bardem clearly leads this cast. He is the master of this film. No one, not even Tommy Lee Jones, tops his performance.
If any of you are disappointed from this piece, please watch it again and open your mind. It is not just a murder case but much more.
    Enjoy!

yeah nic cage has made a lot of crap but he does have a few gems here and there like leaving las vegas, and (i know how silly this sounds) valley girl, and raising arizona so for now he's in my "eh" list, not totally annexed but he's definitely cutting it close. i mean i understand when good actors make a crap film here and there for the extra cash (sort of, i mean they are ridiculously overpaid to begin with), but when you start making back to back shite films that's when my affections start to waiver
