Blade
This is Perfect. This is my benchmark film, the one I think about most. it's 80s it's 90s it's Vampire lore and shooting and all out destruction. I LOVE this. The script is punchy and sinister, well written, very well written and performed brilliantly. From this film I am one huge fan.

Blade Runner (1982,  R)

Blade - Trinity (2004,  R)
Blade - Trinity
Again, I loved this, I loved the new take on the Blade world... But after repeated viewings It's apparent why Wesley Snipes got annpyed with Ryan Reynolds and the paersonailtu of Plade was annoyed at Ryan's Hannibal King Character. The relationship carried on off camera. The humourous take wasn't the way Wesley wanted to go. Sure it is very funny in places but it trivialises why you went to see the movie in the first place, This was the first Blade film I saw in the cinema and I did laugh at some of it But it also featured some of the best fighting in the Blade Trilogy. Some very good sequences for Wesley and He did well with what he had. But now I agree with him. They should have made this movie differently. It's still fun though, not as much as the others cos the mistakes in continuity mute the satisfaction afterwards.

Blade II (Blade 2) (2002,  R)
Blade II (Blade 2)
Even better than the first, the script? so Comic like but suits it perfectly. I have seem this movie 40 times. It never tires and this has been the only DVd that I have gone Gaga over in the run up to it's release. I never saw it in the cinema, due to a location problem late March 2002 when it was released. So On 30th September 2002 I couldn't wait to get it. I was waiting two months for it.. I was not disappointed.

Crank
Oh My God. it's a short one , about 84 minutes long but it's executed perfectly. Plenty of Wow factor. Jason Statham plays the pissed off British Hitman very well indeed. This is not a comedy but there are moments of black comedy throughout/ Call it silyl, call it too short. But it's utter fun. There are even a few laugh out load monents too. I LOVE This Movie. The whole movie is Basically Chev Chelios dying but oh how he lives his last hour. which he stretches to a full day as he feeds his body anything that will keep his adrenaline raging.

The Chronicles of Riddick (2004,  Unrated)
The Chronicles of Riddick
Better than Pitch Black, Not for the reasons you'd think. I loved this. I loved Pitch Black too, but there was more action in this and it worked faster, more pace. The story could've been tweaked But the characters are very likeable. More fight scenes and a great back story for Riddick.

National Treasure (2004,  PG)
National Treasure

As a martial Arts movie it has everything. This is my Enter the Dragon. Stunning.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007,  PG)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
This only gets a four from me cos of Julian McMahon,. He was a joke as Vicotr Von Doom. He got the part in tghe midst of people plugging him as a possible 007. Yeah right. The other actors are triumphant though in making this better than the first, probably cos we already have a good chemistry with them as who they are and the four of them have a good dynamic as a quartet. Jessica Alba is lovely as always and Ioan Gruffudd actualy makes for a convincing hollywood actor despite Horatio Hornblower. He's made it good he has. Loved the Silver surfer though and you can actually see Doug Jones under the silver make-up, which was very well done. Thrilling from Start to finish. I'd happily buy the third if they make it and they should... just put Dr Doom to bed huh. The decision to make Galactus a huge spcial cloud-Nothing type of thing (think back to Neverending Story) instead of a huge towering robot was a brave one but would the film have been less credible if he had have been a huge clunking yet gravity lacking robot???? I think so. They could've whacked an evil demonic face into the cloud though. Flame On!!!!

Kids (1995,  NC-17)
Kids
Thought provoking and enticing, gritty but you have to watch it.

Serenity (2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
Love Love Love this film. i also loved the TV series of Firefly and it was seriously underated. As a standaone film it was awesome. I'm not a Star Wars fan, Star Trek? Yes!!! but this is far more. I think these characters should have gone further and it's a shame the series had to be cancelled but this film was so much more. It blew me away and didn't stray from the underlying message and atmosphere that the pilot episode created.

Casino Royale (2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
This is very very good. It beats any of Pierce Brosnan's efforts cos portions of his bond outings are part ham. Still prettty good, World is not Enough was gettting there, but this is very classy. Very gritty and brings things into the real modern world. Daniel Craig is the best Bond as far as I can see it. It's still very much a bloked movie but it's the best on a long line of blokes movies. Women will like it too though. It's so much more than it started to be though. A big thumbs up. Top stuff.

The Delta Force (1986,  R)
The Delta Force
Well I don't know about you but I love this film, Love it lov eit love it. It's rather tongue in cheek but because of it's indirectly factual content it does hit home the feeling of hijacking on a plane. I do feel very gun Ho when I see Chuck Norris and that good ol' Delta force Musoc.. If anyone has the CD or has an MP3 file of it I'd love to hear from you.

Live Free or Die Hard (2007,  PG-13)
Live Free or Die Hard
Hmmm I dunno. It took a wee while to convince me McClane was back in full force. The beginning was better in With a Vengence, so the start of this was... Hmmmm tepid, but the middle, awesome. it did get going and left me buzzing at the end. Justin Long isn't as annoying as he could be. Tim Olyphant makes for a great bad guy, very calm and calculating. But he should've got the proper Die Hard Death. Shame on Len Wiseman for not doing this. The climax was disappointing at the end. It was working up well, but lost it at the crucial finale. Maggie Q was fantastic as a femme fatale. And it was great to see Cyrille Rafaelli was awesome too. He kicked alot of ass and did some great Freerunning in this. He got a great Death too. I just don't get how the end collapsed. That sucked. but overall this film was brilliant. It's not the best action film of the year, nor the decade as some on here swear by. It's just awesome to have John McClane back with Bruce doing what he does best. Long may he do it more... Yippee Kai Ye Mother Fucker!!!

Labyrinth (1986,  PG)
Labyrinth
One of the most perfect fantasy films of all time..... And Jennifer Connelly is hot hot HOT!!!

Cast Away (2000,  PG-13)
Cast Away
Lovely, Lovely Film. I enjoyed every moment of it. I don't think there's an actor on this planet as great as Tom Hanks. It was beautifully acted. So sad and I creid. The musical score is second to none. Faultless. It wouuld've been a shorter script than most movies, which is why Hanks is the best at what he does. I can't remember crying more for a performance since Forest Gump. Perfect.

The Mist (2007,  R)
The Mist
Oh my God. I loved this. You think it'll be a bad zombie movie. It so isn't. Great characters who pull you in and some you just wanna strangle. A couple of didgy CGI effects, some downright pant filling. a strange film but intense, scary and intriguing, This is one of my favourite movies now. Had a profound effect on me. I love creature features but there's just so much more to it than that. Absolutely effing loved it. It wouldn;t get a sequel cos it works on it's own and based on a Steven King novella it surprised me. As a book it's years old now. Some of his other films have smelt of cack. This one was awesome. AWE-bloody-SOME.

Castaway (1987,  R)

Drop Zone (1994,  R)
Drop Zone
This is one of my favourite movies ever. It's mindless twoddle but this example of mid 90s action fair is just what I love. I'm a huge Wesley Snipes Fan, Huge and I'll watch anything he does but I really enjoyed this. It entertains even if the majority of the skydiving scenes are in front of a green screen. The music by Hans Zimmer is typical of this type of film and I'll always love the mixture. It's a good movie that does exactly what it says on the tin.

Under Siege (1992,  R)

The Relic (1997,  R)
The Relic
I've seen this a good few times now over the last 10 years, but it's one of my favourite monster movies ever. I'm a sucker for this stuff. The Monster is cool too. I'd never heard it it till I'd seen this. The film builds very well with enough gore and jump factor. I know where and when it's coming now but it still entertains me. Great story and setting. Sme of the lines are full of American Stilton and Hollywood chedder but it blemishes only slightly on a film that I'll remember for the rest of my life.

Event Horizon (1997,  R)

Quantum of Solace (2008,  PG-13)
Quantum of Solace
This was a dumber, thinner film to Casino Royale. It was lacking in budget and characterisation... I think. The budget should've been smaller due to the wastes of money the cursed production phase chucked up and what with the incoming global recession at the time of filming you can clearly see how the film suffered. It was even thinner than some of the Pierce Brosnan movies... lack of a great script and less bondisms... this really isn't bond.... But.... and it's an important But... I really really liked it. It's was more an action film that Casino was, it's dumbness benefited it and the only real drawbacks were the holes in the plot. I really like the fighting style in this, and the parkour involved. Not as good as Peirce's first 3 outings.. as Bond but miles better than his last.

The Condemned (2007,  R)
The Condemned
I loved it, Yes, it was very predictable, Steve Austin didn't say much in the film, but his on screen presence as an action hero can't be denied. I've seen it done many times before, this type of film, and yes it was done better in some and dire in others. But the cold hard fact is.... I really really enjoyed it. My enjoyment of it was huge and the soundtrack was spot on. I* thought it wasn't gonna be all that great, but I surprised myself. I've now seen it twice and as a first outing for Stone Cold I think it went well.
