OUTSTANDING!! - I will discuss this in much greater detail on a Hollywood Saloon Specoial Edition dedicated completely to THE DARK KNIGHT.

WOW!! This is a unique, fresh and brave sci-fi/horror flick. It was like a zombie apocalypse but through the eyes of the zombies almost...fighting for their humanity, clinging to what , if anything, makes any sense. Considering the budget I am VERY impressed for what they pulled off. LOVED the 3 stories and the disjointed time line. You have to have some brains to get this one and thank God for that... for a damn change.
Metropolis (Metoroporisu) Metropolis (Metoroporisu) PG-13 4.5 Stars
Yet another fantastic anime film and a "film" it is. An echo of the 1927 film, this takes place in a future where robots have become a threat to the mainstream populus. This has some common dystopic themes with other stories but is done in a fresh way. I continue to see how the Japaneese take their animated films seriously and attain to create profound art rather than just silly and vapid entertainment.
The Love Guru The Love Guru PG-13 3.0 Stars
BAD, BAD, BAD...so why the hell was I laughing so much? See, really what we have here is a totally new form of comedic arts, a movie that really doesn't give a shit if it sucks, but only that you laugh. This, like the Austin Powers movies is chock full of zingers and one-liners that people will be qoting for years to come..BUT no one will ever admit to actually enjoying the film. I could see this having a strong life on Home Video moreso than in any theatrical run. I enjoy Mike Myers' humor as a long time SNL fan, so really that same "sketch" humor is here and works in short bursts. The movie as a whole experience is really painful, but really isn't it just being used as a vehicle for Myers to hit us with these small jabs of quicky jokes? So really I'm perplexed with this because there are some absolutely dreadful moments in this sad film..head slap NOT FUNNY fall on your face LAME jokes.. but then Myers redeems himself with a good one. Its up to you if there are more good than BAD jokes in this.. but more like a standup routine than anything else in the end it's really where your brand of humor lies that makes this thing enjoyable for you or not.

ya knoooooooooow.....
I really enjoyed the first part of this. Things were setting up for something different, but then about half way through the movie turns a sharp corner and becomes almost an entirely different flick. The 2nd part should have almost been the sequel rather than squashed in to one movie. I enjoyed Smith and Bateman, but Theron seemed like she was playing under her talents. I would be interested to see if there will be a Director's Cut of this. I think this movie COULDA be good... but the script just gets messy and bloated. Its too bad.
The Incredible Hulk The Incredible Hulk PG-13 4.0 Stars
Suprise! Suprise! I actually really liked this a lot. Ed Norton was great (as he usually is). I enjoyed the supporting cast as well, even Liv Tyler. While some of the CGI isn't out and out belivable I was eventually able to enjoy the film for what is was. This felt much more like the Hulk I grew up with than the Ang Lee film, which I also liked, but I think works better with this film. Loved the homages back to the TV series, especially hearing the theme. Count another one for Marvel. Great Job.

Haven't seen many Asian films that aren't mainly of bunch of men sword or martial arts fighting. This movie had a little sword play, but was primarily a drama. The women were still delicate and submissive in this society, but I was pleasantly surprised that a couple of the actresses had more dialog and screen time. Though the culture is of a different place and time, there is nothing particularly foreign about the themes, relationships, or emotions portrayed here.

While I wont go so far as to call this a masterpiece, this exceptional addition to the Batman franchise is a very good film and lives up to some very high expectations. The cast is uniformly great and the action is spectacular. A clever story is well told and the dark noir spirit of the source material is well maintained. Heath Ledger deserves special mention for his brilliant portrayal of The Joker and I loved the Two Face origin story. It perhaps feels about half an hour too long, but it's such a fun ride.
My turn! I don't really need to recommend this do I?
You guys are gonna see it anyway. Great fun!

This is one of my all time favorites. It's nothing like a good old classic. It's far better than the remake "Poseidon" with Kurt Russell . I remember when this first aired on TV. If you get a chance to watch both, do so. Then you can compare. I'm sure you will enjoy the performance.
Hey, you should really see this classic !_! You'll be surprise on how much you will enjoy the amazing performance from a season cast.

Jodie Foster proves why she is one of the greatest actors of our time in this beautifully realised adaptation of the play 'Idioglossia' by Mark Handley. Incredible cinematography and heartwarming performances make this memorable drama shine and Liam Neeson is simply charming. The theme of innocence is powerful to behold and without spoiling, I can promise you one of the most satisfying endings you could wish for. Beautiful. Don't miss it!
I know a bunch of you have seen it, but this beautiful showcase of Jodie Fosters talent deserves another watch. If you haven't caught this yet, do yourself a favour.

This very unusual mix of zombie move, comedy and western makes for an interesting watch, even if the genres don't mix entirely well together. Those who delight in B grade horror will find plenty to enjoy. The comedy sometimes falls flat, but there are some genuinely funny moments too. A relatively unknown cast does alright, but it's the Romeroesque makeup effects that get the real giggles. Dont miss the zombie outlaws penis falling off while he is urinating... nuff said.
This "zombedy" is a weird mix and it won't appeal to everyone, but those who love B grade goofy horror westerns will love it!

Fun little comedy with some genuine laughs and some truly likeable characters. Despite being ultimately predictable, Simon Pegg and Dylan Moran are such a joy to watch. The direction of Edgar Wright is sorely missed, but David Schwimmer (of all people!) does a half decent job. The message leans a little toward the soppy, but the sight gags of Pegg in tiny shorts (and Moran in no shorts) are well worth your time. Lighthearted and good for a laugh.
Very fun little comedy! It's no 'Hot Fuzz' or 'Shaun Of The Dead', but it's still very funny and sweet.

Best film of 2008 so far and the best superhero film ever. Heath Ledger is certain to be nominated and will probably win for his truly mad performance as the joker. Yet there is Method to his Madness, this crazed character does make sense in his own twisted thinking. The film more than the original poses some extreemly difficult ethical questions concerning right and wrong, hero and villian, questions that are not nescessarily answered. Once again Nolan has redfined the comic book genre and has continued the most original and masterly film series out today. See this film!
