One of the best detective movies I've seen in a while. It's every bit as excellent as the book.
The Dark Knight

This is honestly probably the definitive superhero movie. It features a twisted joker, who is much more authentic than the cute & cuddly Jack Nicholson Joker. Heath Ledger's last performance is one of his greatest if not the greatest. Christian Bale gives a great turn as Bruce Wayne and as Batman, and Gary Oldman's Comissioner Gordon is amazing. Only gripe: Bat-voice: Annoying after a while.
