The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
PG-13
A mess. Missing the magic of the first film, and to a lesser extent, the second one. The action seems mindless, and empty, void of enjoyment. The characters are wooden, and even John Hannah's Jonathan isn't given a bone. Too many misdirections in a film that doesn't flow together as a whole. Mismanaged, and shambled.
Hancock
PG-13
A film that utterly confuses me due to the direction of the screenplay. The first half of the film is an enjoyable farce of superheroes. If it would've stayed on that course, the film would've succeeded. Instead, the second half takes a radical change in direction causes this film to be two parts that don't quite fit together. A failure, and a bizarre film.
Journey to the Center of the Earth (Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D)
Unrated
The 3D technology utilized in this film opens all-new possibilities for film as entertainment, because that's what this particular film is: entertainment. When some people label films as similar to amusement park rides, this is the one film where I would agree. The 3D really pulls you into the world of the film, and allows you to enjoy it all that much more. Without 3D, this film wouldn't work, but with it, it's certainly an enjoyable and interesting time.
The Happening
R
An interesting idea done quite poorly. Shyamalan removes much of the mystery by revealing the cause of the deaths early on in the film. The acting is fairly atrocious, and I am certain I saw a boom-mike in more than one shot. Shyamalan was not on his A-game here. Could've been great.
Reign of Fire
PG-13
A dumb idea done moderately. Christian Bale is still surprisingly good, but the rest of the film is very run-of-the-mill action film.

Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder)
by elliotThe first die hard film was n amazing movie to watch, so the sequel had a lot to live up to. Die Hard 2 was a major disappointment, Bruce Willis is back as the New York cop John McClane . the story for die hard 2 is:John McClane is in the wrong place at the wrong time - this time he's waiting for his wife's plane to arrive at Washington's Dulles Airport when he uncovers a plot to sabotage the airport's landing system. The criminals wish to free a drug baron being extradited to America for trial by holding the airport to ransom until they all safely escape on another plane. what i mean is by this film is a major disappointment is that it didn`t have enough action sences in it and it didn`t turn out what i thought and other viewers wanted it to be. one of the things which wasn`t a disappointment in this film is that of the performance of Bruce Willis and also the tagline for this film: it isn`t die hard, it`s die harder.

The Departed
by elliotThe Departed is the best Jack Nicholson movie in years! His shattering performance makes The Departed one of the best films of 2006. Martin Scorsese has done it again! The Departed is one of the grippest films of the year about the Irish Mafia in modern day Boston and the informant state detective who brings him down. Brilliant performances from Matt Damon,Leonardo DiCaprio,
Alec Baldwin,Mark Wahlberg,Anthony Anderson,and Martin Sheen.
This will be the year Martin Scorsese finally gets the Oscar for Best Director. A soon to be classic and its ranks up there with Goodfellas,Mean Streets, and Gangs of New York as one of the best mob crime gangsta films of all time and ever made.Hey, you should really see this!

Iris
by AugustineVery touching...... losing memory is really dreadful. But Iris cannot help it. Yet, how about us? Will we unintentionally let our happy memory with those we have once cared and loved fade away when time elapses? How can we reverse this awful truth?

Deception
by AugustineIt's opening makes me feel it will like Eyes Wide Shut; the middle sounds like Secret Window; then it becomes a traditional thriller, with a twisted plot development.

Places in the Heart
by AugustineThe best wlll be its spirit: endurance and courage towards hardship. The most intriguing scene is the one about tornado. The KKK part is furious to watch either. The other will be the acting: not only Sally Field gave one of the greatest performances, but John Malkovich was also great for his screen debut. The ending is somehow sad since the social harmony seems still far away......

Maurice
by AugustineWell......may I put its main theme aside? It's an artistic Merchant-Ivory production, being somehow "romantic" and moving. The depiction of emotion changes and struggles is superb. Moreover, it may not be Hugh Grant's best performance, but probably his most serious one.
For those who cannot withstand homosexuality please avoid this......if you can, then you should not miss this, especially if you like artistic novel adaptations!

An American in Paris
by AugustineGene Kelly's dancing is amazing. Yet, there are no memorable songs. The 17 minutes ballet is very enjoyable, but it seems deviated from the plot. Slightly better than Singin' in the Rain still.
