for disaster flicks it certainly did not lack in worldwide destruction. you should watch it for that. not for the cheezy, corny, god-awful story/script that the writers did not give any thought to, not for the bad acting from the US president who lacked a spine, not for the writer/hero who saves the day, not for the useless (why are you even written into the story) first daughter or the annoying, trying to be lovable kids and dog who actually survived the whole ordeal without a scratch to show! there were lots of things in the movie that i actually did not care to see. don't get me wrong, i actually enjoyed a couple of disaster movies in the past but the least they could do with 2012 is improve in the storyline and characters from its predecessors. my cousins and i just laughed at the grandoise of the the movie. a disappointment really... COME ON HOLLYWOOD! you can do better than this! i'm giving this 1 1/2 stars just for the CG and special effects.

gwyneth as a 400lb lady is hard to acknowledge! the movie was funny and sweet. definitely a date movie! there are things for guys and girls to appreciate

this is a really smart movie. i love watching it again and again. i love how the actors played out their roles!
