Pulp Fiction (1994,  R)
Pulp Fiction
The first time I watched Pulp Fiction, I hated it. I had no idea what it was about. And I also wondered where it was going. I never figured the trickiness of director Quentin Tarantino. The second time I saw it, I loved it. Of course, the second time I saw it was three years later (1997). After seeing it again, I saw the brilliant direction of Tarantino and how skillful he really is. The plot, being a shapeless mass of matter, has no real direction, which normaly destroys a film. However, the jumping from one story to another and back is truly original and almost hard to keep up with. This film keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next more than just the first time you see it.

Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl
It is an exquisite work of fantasy and inventiveness, a true classic, on the order of "The Wizard of Oz." A great adventure. Well played swordfighting. Great laughs. Great music. And great story. Pirates are back in my good book.
3
Forrest Gump (1994,  PG-13)
Forrest Gump
The film was wonderfully directed and acted by a great cast on all levels. The movie has it all too, drama, comedy and it challenges societal norms as well. Run Forrest Run!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
The movie is visually stunning - the CGI is top rate and you won't spend the whole film groaning about how fake things appear on the screen. Nothing can go wrong with a cast as energetic and enlightening as this one. There are some great lines, the same fun characters, an inventive and fun story, and some brilliantly staged action sequences.
6
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King (2003,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King
Peter Jackson has done it. He has created an all-encompassing epic saga of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books. The cast comes through once more. The musical score retains its beauty, elegance and power. I have no doubt, however, that the trilogy as a whole is the first great cinematic masterpiece of the twenty-first century.
7
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
The film is a masterpiece from start to finish. All parts are played to perfection by the cast, and the casting is literally some of the best and most appropriate seen in years. Peter Jackson's ambitious first chapter is truly unlike anything you've seen.
8
The Departed (2006,  R)
The Departed
Once again Scorsese delivers a film that meets or exceeds the expectations of its audience in nearly every way. Definitely one of the best films of the 00's. The acting of all the leads were legendary and they all looked very comfortable in their roles.
9
Grease (1978,  PG)
Grease
Good old fashioned knuckle-headed comedy and toe-tapping tunes that will have you dancing and singing along. Its a timeless hit that will have people enjoying it throughout the ages.
10
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (2002,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers
The Two Towers can only be explained in one word, beautiful. This film left me breathless. The breaking into different stories was a cool idea. Showing the progression of the characters from the first film to the second. This story has captivated my heart, and the film has taken my breath away. There is no words that can express the greatness of this film.
11
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007,  PG-13)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
The Pirates of the Caribbean-movie serials is probably one I'll never grow tired off. The characters are fun and great, always adventurous and spectacular to watch. The cast is great, the thrills all first-rate. The whole film build up to the final battle which is one of the finest since the Lord of the Rings. Jack Sparrow at his best!
12
The Godfather (1972,  R)
The Godfather
The Godfather is one of the very few films that doesn't have a single flaw. The sounds, music, color and light in the film are just as much a part of the film as the people. If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for? This was one acclaimed film that didn't disappoint.
13
Pretty Woman (1990,  R)
Pretty Woman
This is a lovely story of hope and the true purity of falling madly in love. All the characters of the film are convincing, original and sympathetic and feeling comfortable with each other. You'll laugh, you might cry, you'll be touched, and you'll want to see this box-office smash over and over again.
14
Saving Private Ryan (1998,  R)
Saving Private Ryan
Spielberg is able to take you into action and make you feel as if you are a participant in the movie and not just a viewer. The story manages to move us through all sorts of different landscapes and scenarios, giving us an unforgettable glimpse of a world unknown to most of us, and terrifying to those who are familiar with it from personal experience. Steven Spielberg has out done himself!
15
GoodFellas (1990,  R)
GoodFellas
This film is a rush of energy, where all the elements come together brilliantly. There isn't a single moment in the movie where it doesn't miss a beat, you could only tell by the atmosphere of the time period and it seems so real. "Goodfellas" is one of the best films I have ever seen. It's a tour de force of breathtaking images, witty scriptwriting, superb acting and realistic violence.
16
Batman Begins (2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
Great villains, great story, great cast, great action... put simply, great film. If the Batman franchise died under it's own gaudiness years ago, let us rejoice this glorious rebirth - Batman truly does begin here. After having seen all the Batman films several times, I now think this is the best of them all...
17

Ocean's Eleven (2001,  PG-13)
Ocean's Eleven
The job itself is well handled. It is so slick that you don't mind that it couldn't possibly work in real life, but instead it just appears so clever! The twists and turns guarantee that by the end you will be sitting there thinking 'that was really clever'. This is a film that will keep you fascinated the entire time you are watching.
19
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
This movie is the best of the series to date. These kids feel like real people, not mythical elves or gods. The movie does the best at being comprehensible without aid of reference from the books of it's predecessors, and is a genuinely exceptional comedy/thriller, and feels epic and yet real. The finale will leave pretty much anyone with a soul breathless and crying.
20
