The Hours
PG-13
Great movie, had me feeling a little ambivalent because the storyline is both depressing yet uplifting.
The interwoven plot comes together and makes sense at the end.
The Notebook
PG-13
How sad is this movie?! - I thought the chemistry between Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams was very believable. The story has a classic romance feel to it and I got swept along with the characters.
Beautifully told & one I'd watch again.
Stardust
PG-13
An excellent new fantasy movie with a perfect mix of characters (loved Robert De Niro camping it up lol!) - this has a great story to it & is very funny too.
I ♥ these kind of films. Magical!!
American Gangster
R
Based on a true story, this is a well told crime story with great performances from Denzel Washington & Russel Crowe.
It isn't your average gangster movie - this one is more about the story than the usual violence you see (& it's a long story at that).
I found the movie to be a bit of a slow burner but it's well worth seeing.
Open Season
PG
This is a cute film, the animation is good & the plot quite funny. Kids would enjoy this, but it isn't one I'd watch again simply because it doesn't stand out amongst some of the better CGI titles there are.
Enchanted
PG
This is a charming movie which was well casted - Amy Adams was perfect for the princess character. A good mix of live action & disney animation - definitely one for the whole family.

Atonement
by ColletteThis was pretty good movie. I loved the ending. It wasn't your usual happy everyone lives happily ever after ending. But yet it was still a great movie.
I don't know if you've already seen this, but it blew me away! The ending was a shocker! I didn't cry but, really did enjoy it. If you have seen this movie already can you or do you know the very last seen of the house by the ocean where that is?

Paprika
by ChrisIt is a film bursting with color and filled with both disturbing and beautiful imagery. It is both a dream-like and nightmarish experience. The subplot with the cop is as interesting as the surreal main plot. And the techno music is awesome. This animated film is the most visually stunning one I have ever seen since Spirited Away.

Wrong Turn 2: Dead End
by DeanJust as good as the first pretty much, if maybe not quite as tense or shocking. Very gory and violent, just like the first and similar to the hills have eyes. If you can handle the gore and are a horror fan you'll enjoy this.

Untraceable
by ♥LisaReally Cool flick I liked this one.Yeah it smelled a little predictible here and there but who cares? The twisted concept of this movie was like a weird cross between Se7en and The Saw movies, so if you like either of those or both you will most likely love this.Intense at times I did enjoy this movie.I am recommending this one.=)

Atonement
by GaryAfter hearing a few less than glowing reviews I was a bit jubious about this one, but it turned out to be pretty beautiful. An epic love story with some beautiful cinematography and solid acting throughout. Tragic and endearing in a very British way. Perhaps overrated and the sneaky ending was a very dirty trick, but the hopeless romantic in me saw past all that. And the Dunkirk scene.... WOW! Briony truly deserves to be one of the most hated characters in recent movie history. Wish I'd read the book first.
The Oscar contender that couldn't is actually a pretty amazing little British film that turns ageing romantics like me to mush.

Hatchet
by DeanTagged as an old school American horror this definitely felt like watching an older horror film along the lines of Friday the 13th. However mixed with some very over the top gore from more recent horror films and you get this. Featuring cameos from Robert Englund, Tony Todd and Kane Hodder. There are plenty of jokes, gore and all the other ingredients that horror fans love about slasher films in this.

The Bank Job (2008)
by MartinI like this "based on a true story" movie about a bunch of amateurs who sets out to rob a bank by tunneling underground into the vault of a London bank in 1971. It's funny and quiet bizarre how they managed to pull it off. There are in fact many funny moments in this movie, but this is not a comedy....and it's not a pure action//thriller either, but a nice mix of it all. Definately worth watching.
