Rinne (Reincarnation) - R Takashi Smimizu has earned a name for himself using the Ju-On franchise, but lately he's branching off into new territory proving he's truly a master of horror and not just a one trick pony.

Rinne is the tale of a film crew creating a movie based upon a killing that actually occured in a hotel in the 70's. As the film progresses though, the film's main character begins to experience parallels to the movie in their own life and begins to put forth the question, are you condemned by default for actions performed in a past life?

Beautifully shot, and featuring an intriguing story, Shimizu takes his knowledge of ghost tales and weaves it in a completely new way that will have your jaw dropping.

This is one of the best horror movies to come out of Japan in quite a while. Fans of Shimizu, hop on, everyone else, give it a shot, who knows, maybe someone in your past life will enjoy it.

Doomsday - R I went into Doomsday with little more than the knowledge that this was a Neil Marshall film. Sure I had seen the trailers but the decision to see this movie had already been made by that point. So the big question is, does Neil Marshall once again prove that he is a master of his craft, or has the success and acclaim of his first two films tarnished him?

Fortunately for us all, the conclusion to Marshall's "D" trilogy is every bit as amazing as the first two. Taking place in a world where Scotland has been quarantined by a giant wall and left to rot due to the "reaper" virus, the film sets its sights 30 years into the future, where the reaper virus makes its deadly return. The only chance of survival is to send somebody behind the wall to see if any of the survivors have a cure. What they don't know is that behind the wall are waring factions fighting for control.

Doomsday has it all, great effects, good acting, and some extremely memorable scenes. Anything you can think of to make a movie awesome, Marshall has done in this flick.

Movie fans, don't miss out on Doomsday. It is the most fun you will have in theatres this year, and if opening weekend box office results are any indication, this one wont be around much longer, so get on it!.

Chopping Mall (Killbots) - R Chopping Mall embodifies everything that was great about 80's horror films. From the cheesy dialogue, to the horrid acting, the awful clothing, and the ridiculous character types, Chopping Mall has it all, and what a fun ride it is!

To prevent crime, the mall has installed 3 security robots and steel shutters at night. Anyone who shouldn't be in the mall receives a non-lethal punishment...until something goes horribly wrong with the computer! This could spell trouble for the group of teens having a party in one of the stores.

This movie has so many laughable moments that you can't help but love it. I've seen it a handful of times and never get tired of it. Have your remote ready to rewind and replay your favorite scenes.

Considering you can probably buy this movie for less than it would cost you to rent it, everyone owes it to themselves to seek it out and enjoy the guilty pleasures of 80's horror at its finest.

Sleepaway Camp III - Teenage Wasteland - R Sleepaway Camp continues to dominate the campy fun movie genre. Angela keeps raking up the kills, in new and inventive ways, and the flicks keep using a new dynamic to bring it all together. With more in common to Unhappy Campers than the original film, you know what to expect by this point.

In Teenage Wasteland, Camp New Horizons is being opened as an experiement in diversity, by placing priveleged and unpriveleged people together in one camp. What the campers don't know is that this used to be Camp Rolling Hills, and that Angela is amongst the campers!

In the end we get a lot of kills, and although not as clever as past entries, there are a few genius scenes that will make you chuckle. It's a shame this series has been on hiatus for so long, but with part 4 finally seeming like it will see the light of day, it's an exciting time to be a Sleepaway Camp fan...so why not celebrate with a viewing of a great classic entry in the series.

Leprechaun 2 - R While Leprechaun was a charming but flawed film, Leprechaun 2 oozes with style and fun. The series starts to truly flesh itself out with this installment. The Leprechaun is no longer just mean, hes got a sense of humor to boot!

In the past the Leprechaun had a slave man, and told him he would set him free if he helped him get a wife. Simply having a maiden sneeze 3 times without having someone bless them would do the trick. When the slave man sees that the bride to be is his daughter he prevents the union. Hundreds of years later, Leprechaun finds one of her ancestors and attempts the unholy union once again.

If you are a fan of cheesy, fun horror you can't go wrong with Leprechaun 2. While it can't touch the marvels of comedic horror legend Freddy, the laughs keep rolling, and the kills have a fun touch. Check out Leprechain 2 and witness the series in its prime.

Leprechaun - R Leprechaun marks the first entry in what is currently a 6 part saga. It also marks one of Jennifer Aniston's first lead acting roles.

When a man steals a pot of gold from a Leprechaun, the leprechaun does everything in its power to get it back, but ends up sealed in the basement of his house. Years later when a family moves into this house, the leprechaun is set free and he begins to terrorize as he attemps to retrieve his pot of gold.

Leprechaun is a fairly unique horror film which is probably the root cause of its success. The film doesn't really have any real scares, and the characters are pretty weak but yet there's something compelling about Leprechaun.

Genre fans will want to check it out, but if you are just looking for a one shot, there are far better entries in the series than this one.

Hellraiser - Hellworld - R Pinhead on the internet is how this movie was initially described to me. As I began to ponder the many ways Pinhead could terrorize on the web, a mental image of what the movie could be emerged. Once I actually popped this flick in though, it wasn't at all what I expected.

The story revolves around a group of friends who all play an online game called Hellworld. By completing its most recent puzzle, they are invited to an exclusive Hellworld party, but the party isn't all that it seems.

So not exactly Pinhead on the internet...but fun nonetheless! Not only do we get Doug Bradley playing our favorite spiked head demon, but Lance Henrikson playing the host of the party. Unfortunately the remaining actors aren't quite as skilled or prestigious but they get things done well enough.

Any fan of the series should enjoy this entry. It's a very fresh take unlike any other in the series, and continues in the tradition of quality that fans come to expect of the Hellraiser series. Don't let Deader discourage you, this series still has a lot of life left in it.

Hellraiser - Deader - R Hellraiser Deader marks the 7th entry in my beloved Hellraiser franchise, and although it's amongst the weakest of the bunch, it's still a fun ride nonetheless.

The film revolves around a group of people called "Deaders", who kill one another and return to life, but they aren't truly dead. When a beat reporter finds out, she investigates but gets more than she bargained for.

Frankly, after 7 installments, I'm amazed that this series still has new ideas to test the waters with. Fans of the series don't really need me to tell them that they will like something about this flick. Everyone else should probably steer clear, it's hardly the best entry in the series to start with.

Halloween - Resurrection - R How the mighty have fallen...the name Halloween which was once synonymous with horror has been continuously defiled and this "final" installment certainly doesn't help...of course what do you expect when Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks have top billing...

The film revolves around a group of teens inspecting the Myers house as a part of a reality tv show. What they don't know is that Mikey is in the house with them taking them out one by one.

Presumably written in this fashion due to the immense popularity of reality tv shows, the entire film is almost satirical both of the Halloween franchise and slasher films in general. Flat characters, completely typical kills and setups, this one just reeks...oh and they kill off Laurie in the first 5 minutes...

All in all, an abomination that is only outshone by Halloween III. Stay away, only the true Halloween hardcores dare venture into this beast.
