Funny People a movie that tells the story of When famous comedian George Simmons (Sandler) is diagnosed with a terminal disease, he and his assistant, a struggling comedian, Ira (Rogen), return to the places and people that matter most?including the stand-up spots that gave him his start and the girl that got away (Mann). It is by far one of the most serious comedies I've ever seen directed by Judd Apatow and starring Adam Sandler. The story is very good, it keeps you interested besides it also has very funny moments to keep you entertained as well. The original Adam Sandler footage that appears on the film give the movie a very good taste of reality, makes you believe somehow that Sandler is telling a passage of his own life. The cast is excellent, beginnig with Adam Sandler with a very credible performance combining drama with comedy, Seth Rogen is also very good proving that he can be serious when it is needed and finally excellent supporting roles from Eric Bana, he was hilarious, Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman. In conclusion, Funny People was a really good surprise, definitely worth seeing and fully recommendable

The Rebound is a movie that tells the story of Sandy (Catherine Zeta-Jones), a woman that after knowing about her husband infidelity, decides to move on and tries to make a new life with her 2 kids in the city. She moves to an apartment where captivates her new neighbor, a much younger man. It is the typical love story about the older woman falling in love with a younger man but with a not so typical ending. The first hour of the movie is ok with some funny moments but the last 15-20 minutes it turns a little boring a with a very slow pace. The cast is good Zeta-Jones delivers a very good performance and Justin Bartha was also very decent, the two kids are very funny. In conclusion, it is a movie you could wait for it to be in dvd, nothing special about it

The Soloist - PG-13

|
The soloist is a movie based on an article written by journalist Steve Lopez about Nathaniel Anthony Ayers, a gifted musical prodigy that lives on the streets of Los Angeles. The story is excellent and the plot is very well developed. I has a high quantity of drama, it is very touching and even heart breaking, the viewer will drop a tear or maybe two. It is a little slow but it never gets tired. It is also a little depressing because it portraits the real life of real homeless people. It has an all-star cast with Robert Downey Jr. as Steve Lopez and Jamie Fox as Nathaniel Ayers. Both deliver an outstanding performance. Secondary roles like the ones of Catherine Keener as Downey's ex wife and Lisa Gay Hamilton as Jamie fox sister gives the movie a very good support to the two leading men. In conclusion, The Soloist is a really good and recommendable option for everyone. A movie that makes you appreciate life

Year One is the latest movie starring Jack Black. It is basically the story of the world since the beginning of time through the eyes of two cavemen. It has some funny moments and I hate to say it because I'm a big Jack Black fan but in general the movie its just plain and simple. The story isn't that interesting and the plot is kinda flat. The cast is good Jack Black as always is hilarious, he is the best one in the movie, Michael Cera is simply awful, I don't know but this guy has no personality and beside Black he simply disappears. Olivia Wilde, better known as 13 in House, is quite decent, Oliver Platt as the High Priest is very good and David Cross as Cain is very funny. In conclusion, Year One could be a very funny movie but it wasn't. anyway if you want to see it do it.

The Informant! - R

The informant is that kind of movie that at the end of the movie you go out thinking and wondering what you saw. But after certain time you realize that you saw and intelligent , very sarcastic and incredible movie. It is a film about ising corporate star, Mark Whitacre, who turns whistleblower against his employer, agribusiness giant ADM, for price fixing. Its story is very good and the plot is very well developed. The movie at the beginning is a little slow and maybe tiresome but the last hour when the situations began to unwrap, it becomes very interesting and with a very fast pace. The music is really enjoyable The cast is very good, a very fat Matt Damon in a type of role you never imagine him to be, Melanie Lynskey as Damon's wife was quite decent and after being away fro I don't know how much time, Scott Bakula with and excellent peformance. In conclusion, Steven Soderbergh latest movie is a very interesting movie people should give it a chance, it totally worth it.

Inglourious Basterds - R

|
What can I say. Tarantino always finds new ways to amaze the viewer. This was the opportunity of Inglorious Basterds, a movie full of action, drama and a little bit of black humor that we're used to watch in all Tarantino's movies. It is perfectly narrated and with an excellent rhythm, yeah it maybe a little bloody but its never gross, its like I like say entertaining and justified violence. The story is excellent, set in WW II, a group of Jewish soldiers named "the basterds" travel throughout the Nazi occupied Europe killing German soldiers as an act of revenge, and the plot is perfectly written full of twists and with an unexpected ending. The cast is awesome, Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz, Til Schweiger and even Mike Myers in a very short appearance were astonishing perfect. To conclude, Inglorious Basterds is the best movie from Quentin Tarantino maybe since Pulp Fiction, fully recommended and totally worthy.

I Hate Valentine's Day is a movie about a lonely woman falls in love on the day she dreads the most and experiences all the elements of a relationship, from chance meeting through divorce, within the space of a single February 14th. What can I say, if the movie's name is I Hate Valentine's Day, well I hate I hate Valentine's Day. This is by far the corniest movie I ever seen in my life. Maybe women will enjoy all the chessy situations the leading character has and experience throughout the movie, but men like me will get bored from the very first minute of the movie. It is supposed to be a romantic comedy but there was no humor at any moment. Nia Vardalos has the leading role, I don't what but she has something in her personality that really annoys me,besides that her character is already annoying too. John Corbett dod a decent job. In conclusion, I Hate Valentine's Day was a completely wast of time and money. A movie not worthy to see and if you still want to, well you better wait for it on dvd.

The Ugly Truth is a entertaining romantic comedy about Abby Richter, a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. She's in for a rude awakening when her bosses team her with Mike Chadway, a hardcore TV personality who promises to spill the ugly truth on what makes men and women tick. Although I think the movie is a little predictable and with some corny moments, it is also very enjoyable and funny. The cast is formed by Gerard Butler (300) and Katherine Heigl (27 Dresses) in the leading roles. Heigl is like in her previous movies very good, she is made for this type of movies and Butler is a real suprise, he did excellent in his very first romantic comedy. In conclusion, The Ugly Truth is a very enjoyable comedy for men and women.

Married Life is a nice thriller with very good black humor about a man with a lot of years being married and having a lover he decides that it is very painful for his wife to ask her for the divorce so instead of divorcing his wife, he chooses to murder her. The story is very good, the plot very well developed, it has very good twists and an unexpected ending although it has some holes and a very slow rhythm at some moments. The cast is excellent. Chris Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Patricia Clarkson and Rachel McAdams gave us almost perfect performances To conclude, this is a movie worth to see. Very recommendable.

Aliens in the Attic is a movie that entertains for maybe 30 minutes. After that time I think that it turns a little foolish, unreal and very childish. the movie tells the story of a very dysfunctional family that rent a house on the lake for their vacations, what they don't know is that the house is already habited by a group of aliens looking for a device to invade and conquer the Earth. The aliens can control the mind of adult people but not of teenagers and children, so it is the children of the family to protect their house, their family and the whole world. The story is very predictable, from the very beginning you can tell what is going to happen. The cast is good, the performances notthat much. I love the role of Doris Roberts as the Grandma, she is very funny, Kevin Nealon is also very food as the dad. I think that it is already time for Ashley Tisdale to leave behind the roles of the spoiled high school teenager and the kids were good enough specially the little girl Ashley Boettcher. In conclusion, Aliens in the Attic is an entertaining and enjoyable movie specially for kids, then if you don't have kids or you're not one avoid it or wait for it until its on dvd.

Usually when people talk about hangovers they usually meant about the day after drinking a lot. In this case The Hangover is the most ingenious comedy I've seen in the year. Directed by Todd Phillips, The Hangover contains all kind of comedy and humor existed in this world. It is an hour and a half full of laughs. It is cleverly written, Two days before his wedding, Doug and his three friends drive to Las Vegas for a blow-out bachelor party they'll never forget. The movie follows a fast paced rhythm, a very nice thin for the viewer because you never get tired or bored. It also has some great locations in Las Vegas, in fact you can see two different faces of Vegas, one at night so glamorous and shiny and the other in the desert with amazing landscapes. Another thing you appreciate from the movie is its wonderful soundtrack, the music is so good and every song in it fits to the perfection with every scene in the film. The cast is excellent every actor and actress delivers an excellent and convincing performance specially Zach Galifianakis as Alan, he was so funny and the special appearance from Mike Tyson was great. The Hangover only purpose is to entertain people and I'm sure people will enjoy every minute of it. In conclusion, it is the best comedy of the year.
