| Paranormal Activity - R | Paranormal Activity is a pure example of what a great movie you can make by the easiest techniques and simplest plots. Other than that, not THAT much scary, although it has its moments. | November 27, 2009 | N/A | |||
| 30 Days of Night - R | Dark, brutal, intense, violent. | October 9, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Darbareye Elly (About Elly) - Unrated | I've watched About Elly three times already and still I cannot get it out my head! Definitely one of the best movies I have watched this year. | October 9, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Little Children - R |
I am actually enjoying Kate Winslet acting lately. I feel like she has grown acting wise so much for the last four-five years. Whether it is Clementine Kruczynski or Sarah Pierce or April Wheeler, or even Hanna Schmitz (though I really do not like The Reader much) she has done a brilliant job nailing those roles and delivering their stories through her fine performances.
I have spent the whole afternoon/night watching Little Children and thinking about it. There were some holes to the story, or at least I didn't get them, like: why was the nanny upset? what was Sarah's husband role in all this, other than the obvious? For some reason he never made any attempt to reconcile things with her and I don't understand why. Or Ronnie, what was his motivation for what he had done? W never know. But all in all, it was a brilliant, humanistic, honest, dramatic movie. Very twisted, very depressing and very thought-provoking, I might add. Aren't we all just little children, especially when it comes to our relationships? Isn't Thoreau right when he says "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation"? |

| Seven (Se7en) - R |
"What's in the box?"
This is practically the first thing come to my mind when I think of Seven. I remember how mesmerized I was with the fine way John Doe was using literature masterpieces in the crime scenes. So much class...:-) |

| Le Silence de Lorna (The Silence of Lorna) (Lorna's Silence) - R | A simple, naturalist and very grey movie with a superb performance from Arta Dobroshi . Beethoven's Sonata is s very wise choice for the ending, leaving the audience with silence, Lorna's and ours. | August 14, 2009 | N/A | |||
| O Brother, Where Art Thou? - PG-13 | August 14, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Bad Education (La Mala educación) - NC-17 | Creative, Beautiful, Fascinating. | July 24, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Friday the 13th - R | Well, Jared Padalecki, so...yeah. Other than that, not very good. | July 23, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Watchmen - R | What I especially enjoyed about Watchmen is how dark it gets. I have a feeling I would enjoy the comics even more. | July 16, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Angels & Demons - PG-13 | July 11, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Ten Inch Hero - Unrated | OK, so I only got this one because of Jensen Ackles, I wasn't expecting much and was really really surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie. Funny moments, touching moments and easy to watch. | July 11, 2009 | N/A | |||
| He's Just Not That Into You - PG-13 | Good start but that's about it.Very cliche, very predictable. | July 11, 2009 | N/A | |||
| X-Men Origins - Wolverine - PG-13 | Add a review (optional)... | June 26, 2009 | N/A | |||

| Bride Wars - PG | April 29, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Hotel Rwanda - PG-13 |
"Oh, God, I'm so ashamed!" Watching this move was a rare experience. It is not easy to separate the story, the humanity, the pain, the agony from all the artistic parts of this movie, not at the first time at least. This is a hard movie to watch. It reminds of all, lost in our everyday lives, to reach out and help people when we can and believe that we can make a difference! |

| Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others) - R |
This is absolutely terrific! Ulrich Mühe was phenomenal. It's a shame he died. As someone who knows quite well about such situations, it was heartbreaking watching this artistic, emotional movie. The last 20min, when you suppose the movie is over, is what adds to the depth and puts the whole movie into context. I was amazed to know Mühe?s life mirrored the character of Dreyman. Absolutely wonderful piece of art. Highly recommended! |
