My Favorite Movies

These are my favourite movies. They are all films that scored 71% to 99% in my score sheet. I am a very hard viewer to please, but I'm not afraid of showing what I like. Like having Citizen Kane below Snow White, or containing items like The Chronicles of Narnia and Cloverfield in the same list as Dogville or A Streetcar named Desire. My plan is to build this list up to a Top 200.

Watching a Lars von Trier film is like having someone rip your chest open, pull your heart out, squish it until it forms a chord and then strangle you with it.

The story of Selma (Bjork in one of the best performances in the history of cinema) is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Marvelous!

Say what you want. This is one of the best American films of all time. I didn't want to blink for fear of losing a second of the amazing performances and beautiful cinematography. The simplicity and genius of Alan Ball's screenplay will forever be remembered.

The real best picture of 2006. With great portrayals of well-written characters, this hilarious road movie taught everyone a thing or two about independent American cinema and how lack of money doesn't translate into lack of originality and success.

Imelda Staunton's haunting performance and Mike Leigh's fantastic direction create a beautiful and powerful film where you are not forced to believe an idea but allowed to think by yourself: something quite strange in modern cinema.
