1.
The Matrix
R
One of my favorites! But just this one, the 2nd and the 3nd movies sucks, too much especial effects and so few story! The best of this movie is that u can watch it just for fun or even watch it to think too!
2.
Forrest Gump
PG-13
That was my prefered movie when I was a child and still been one of them today.
4.
Lorenzo's Oil
PG-13
The best movie I have ever seen! I don't know if I could be as good as a father as those parents were. I wish I can be at least half of what they were!
6.
As Good As It Gets
PG-13
That's one of the best movies I have ever watched! Very nice! I recommend!

The Wackness
by BobA small film about a student, during the summer of 1994, selling marijuana to put himself through college, seemed like a sure case of "been there, done that", but THE WACKNESS proved to be one of the better films I have seen so far this year. Absolutely great acting from a cast that includes Ben Kingsley, in his best performance since HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG and SEXY BEAST, and a truly star-making turn by Josh Peck (newly thin having lost 40 pounds and suddenly he's a 'hunk' ... who knew?). If DeNiro and Pacino could have a love-child it would surely be Josh Peck! A great little film!
Amid all the multi-million dollar blockbusters ... seek out this entertaining indie when its released in your area. A small joy!

Journey to the Center of the Earth (Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D)
by BobIn the 1950's studios churned out films in the (then) new 3-D process to lure viewers back to theatres and away from Television. It failed because the films were predominately low level B-Films. Now the studios will hit us with a new onslaught of over 30 features readied for release in a new and improved process which has recently proven to be terrific for concert films. If, however, the quality of these films will be on the level of JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH 3-D we are in for 30 lousy films ... with a gimmick.
Your pre-teen relatives and kids may be entertained, but even at a mercifully brief 92 minutes, I guarantee you will be bored out of your mind!
Ugh! .... this was awful!I couldn't wait for it to end!

Hancock
by BobIf you are not a Will Smith fan you probably will not like HANCOCK, ... but if you love Will you'll love this film, an original take on a Super Hero story.
The action sequences are certainly there! The script however is full of holes and suffers from underdeveloped characters and plotlines. The actors are all very good (including a beautiful Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman) and lift the material to a level higher than it actually is. A terrific plot twist an hour into the film also raises the bar ... but isn't played out to its potential.
That being said, it is a breezy, brief (only 92 minutes!) diverting entertainment. You'll totally forget it by the time you exit the theater.A must for Will Smith fans ... all others should proceed with caution, or wait for the DVD.

Wanted
by BobFans of director Timor Bekmambetov's Russian films know he is a visual stylist with great flair. That visual flair is very much on view in WANTED, an in-your-face, over-the-top, non-stop action opus, the likes of which have not been seen since the MATRIX films burst from the big screen. A very good Morgan Freeman performance, a terrific one from James McAvoy and a stunningly sexy Angelina Jolie (poor Jennifer never had a chance!) all add to the fun. A bombastic score by Danny Elfman fits this hyperkinetic action thriller to a 'T'. I've read that some people find the script too confusing ... absurd!, all the info is right there.
Great inventive action thriller!
... and ooooooowwwww ... that Jolie!!!posted 28 days ago -

WALL-E
by BobAnother super solid winner from Disney/PIXAR, WALL-E will be a major Animation contender come award season.
Directed by Andrew Stanton who previously gave us FINDING NEMO.
Terrific on all levels: script, music (Thomas Newman, Peter Gabriel) and, of course, animation. No one does it better than PIXAR!!

The Incredible Hulk
by BobWith the release this year of IRON MAN the bar has been raised on comic book adaptations. For me, THE INCREDIBLE HULK falls somewhat short of that bar.
The film boasts an excellent cast of some of our finer actors: Edward Norton, William Hurt, Tim Roth and Tim Blake Nelson, plus the exotic beauty of Liv Tyler. A terrific title sequence gives all the back-story you need in a couple of minutes, yet nothing that follows lives up to that originality. This film follows the comic book closer than Ang Lee's 2003 version and pays homage to the popular TV series. A Brazilian slum makes a dazzling location ... but the chase during this section offers nothing new or exciting... its just a good chase. I do not mean for this to be a negative review ... I had a good entertaining time, but I just was not blown away by any sequence. And, again for me, this includes the CGI Hulk battles. I just can not get that excited over something that looks so CGI. But the film is fun, laced with humor both intentional and not. The porn industry will have a field day making parodies! One scene has an awakening Betty startled to find her arms around Banner when she obviously fell asleep with her arms around The Jolly Green Giant. A few scenes later during a failed attempt at love making, an audience member shouted at the screen: "Slip her the big green one!" Many scenes, successfully, evoke the Beauty & The Beast sentiment of KING KONG. Go, and enjoy, and have a good time. Just do not expect something on the level of IRON MAN because Edward Norton stars.
Two observations:
1. Tim Roth plays a cracker-Jack Army Captain, and Airborne no less, with a week's worth of facial stubble, and he is definitely NOT on leave. (DUH!) That is about as realistic as the scenes, supposedly in Manhattan's Harlem, where the overwhelming number of pedestrians are white (double DUH!).
2. When your leading lady has feet that look like they rival the size of the title character's, don't shoot her below the knee!A mostly enjoyable summer movie ... although not on the level of the far superior IRON MAN.
