American History X (1998, R)
First time I saw this movie was at school after we watched I just had to buy it. It's a very powerful movie... I love the black/white flashbacks, the cast, everything. I always turn my head during the "bite-the-curb" scene... it's so powerful. This movie was like in my head for 2 hours, I couldn't stop thinking about the ending... I was like "But he changed!!!" over and over again. Another tearjerker.... I just love them. |

The Shawshank Redemption (1994, R)
I first watched this movie at the 7th grade at school and ever since then I always wanted to buy it myself, and I finally did (last year.) The Shawshank Redemption is one of the most memorable movie ever! A movie about hope, redemption and freedom at its finest. Tim Robbins who played Andy Dufresne does an amazing job and so does Morgan Freeman as Red. The cast were absolutely perfect for their roles. This is a movie that you MUST, I said MUST watch! I would recommend this to everyone. |

Forrest Gump (1994, PG-13)
Tom Hanks was great as Forrest Gump, the local "idiot" who lead an extraordinary life. You really need to know past important events to really "understand" this movie. |

Walk the Line (2005, PG-13)
I'm not a Johnny Cash fan (although I do enjoy some songs.) It's actually pretty good I didn't know that I would really enjoy it this much. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were awesome. The acting and singing was great (of course). I was a little bit dissapointed that they couldn't find another guy to play Elvis Presley (even though he was only around for 5 mintues). Tyler Hilton is a great musician but couldn't they've chosen a guy who kinda resembles Elvis?? |

The Illusionist (2006, PG-13)
Really entertaining, I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first cause of the "magic", thinking it was going to be some kind of sci-fi-fantasy movie but it wasn't! It kept me entertained and glued to the screen. (SPOILER) The ending was AWESOME! I was actually thinking before the twist was revealed that Sophie's death was somehow staged but I quickly dismissed the thought. Seems like I was right:) |
