March of the Penguins (La Marche de l'empereur) (2005,  G)
March of the Penguins (La Marche de l'empereur)
This unique movie is such a fantastic combination of documentary and comedy that it is both entertaining and educational and also aims to promote awareness of what people have done to the environment. I used to like penguins; now I just love them even more!

The Sixth Sense (1999,  PG-13)
The Sixth Sense
Very very very great movie. A wonderful combination of various gernes: thriller, action, horror, sci-fi, romance, family relations,... Haley's acting is far more than fine; in fact, I think he was the best kid actor ever. Besides. that twist ending came as a total surprise for me.
3
Stranger Than Fiction (2006,  PG-13)
Stranger Than Fiction
A dull taxman. A special Wednesday. Something very strange is about to happen...
Will Ferell's acting is more than fine in that he doesn't try to be funny, as usual.
I was overwhelmed by the fact that there are so many thoughts in just one story. And the ending line, "The wristwatch saves Harold Crick", again proves the main theme: Truth is stranger than fiction.
So great a movie, more of a drama than a comedy. You really have to see it to appreciate it.

An Inconvenient Truth (2006,  PG)
An Inconvenient Truth
5 stars for its aims and achievements.
Gore is a true hero.

Love Actually (2003,  R)

Zathura (2005,  PG)
Zathura
A great adaptation from the children book of the same name. An interesting science fiction with alot of action as well as an emotional story of brotherhood. And the scene I remember the most is when Walter sacrifice his chance to go home for "I wish the astronaut had his brother back". Those kid actors, Josh Hutcherson and especially Johan Bobo, are doing really well in this movie. Zathura is sure to be a fantastic movie, even better than its prequel Jumanji.

Transformers (2007,  PG-13)

There's Something About Mary (1998,  R)

Tru Confessions (2002,  Unrated)
Tru Confessions
A wonderful DCOM. The movie is a little like a Disney version of "The rain man", whose story is depicted in a more light-hearted tone.
Clara Byrant, in the role of a sister twin of a mentally challenged boy, was meant to be a great actress: unfortunately, she didn't go on with her acting career. Shia LaBeouf was even greater playing the mentally challenged brother, his tones, his words, his looks, and how he shows his feelings (a little like a baby). While he is being praised a lot these days, I think his acting was better back then, those years with Disney...
Great plot. Great acting. Great turnings. Great ending. Touching and moving. On the whole: Very Great Movie! Surely recommended!

Hot Fuzz (2007,  R)
Hot Fuzz
OMG. Love this movie.
Someone may find this film somehow ridiculous (especially the reasons for all the murders), but it's still a great great film.
I quite like this cop: He will never use a gun, until he really has to, and when he actually does, you'd better watch out...
Besides, Hot Fuzz is so hillarious plus the plot is connected so ingeniously and smoothly, sursprsing till the very ending.
I like this cop: He will never use a gun, until he has to, and when he really does, you'd better watch out.

Click (2006,  PG-13)
Click
"Click" obviously surprised me. I have never expected such a comedy with lots of laughs can offer me that much emotion.
No philosophy or lesson, just one simple, old thought: Don't try to find happiness. It's always there, beside you.

The Perfect Score (2004,  PG-13)
The Perfect Score
Just when I couldn't bare the SAT any more
23
The Kid (2000,  PG)
The Kid
Obviously the movie doesn't stand a chance to be nominated for Academy Awards; it's just a light-hearted family movie, but a great one. Bruce Willis, the man of action, ironically tends to act better in films not in the action gerne (like the great hit "The sixth sense").
So what is learnt from the film? That "Nobody ever grows up quite like they imagined". That sometimes you would rather do what you want than waht you need. And that you don't always have to be grown-up, just be The kid.
24
Stardust (2007,  PG-13)
Stardust
Just like a fairy tale... or should I say : Too much of a fairy tale? If it were not for the brilliant acting and some side characters, the movie would mean to bore you (unless you're a kid, in which case, there are some scenes in the movie not suitable for you). After all, I did enjoy myself watching this.
25
Get Smart (2008,  PG-13)
Get Smart
Funny without being forcefully so.
Can't understand so many would care to criticize the plot and stuff. After all, its all and only aim is to entertain, and thanksfully, it did succeed. The acting is not bad at all; indeed, Steve Carell proves to be a great comdeian, and with Anne Hathaway, they make a great couple.

X2 (2003,  PG-13)

The Even Stevens Movie (2003,  G)

The Nanny Diaries (2007,  PG-13)

Mamma Mia! (2008,  PG-13)
Mamma Mia!
It's true that main reason I like this movie is simply because I'm a fan of ABBA. It's really entertaining, though, more than I thought it would be.
All the acting and singing are great, except for Meryl Streep's trying to act young and over-enthusiastic, which really seems awkward from any perspective (especially after having seen those dramatic roles of hers).

Role Models (2008,  R)
Role Models
Not that funny. But, I'm absolutely not against Role Models being called the best comedy of 2008. Both the actors and the characters are wondeful. Nice plot, too.
