The Ten Commandments
Cecil Demil directed this biblical story which is truly amazing. Acting is amazing, and the effects are amazing for the time.
2
Norbit (2007,  PG-13)
Norbit
Perhaps one of my favorite movies, I thought this was going to be boring, Klump like humor, which some of it is, but this film is better than anything the Klumps ever put out. Rasputia, is overbareing, and rude, emasculating to her husband, and I think most people know an emasculting she devil and mouse couple. Great one liners, and cheezy. I loved it, it was entertinaing, and funny. One helluva movie
3
The Silence of the Lambs (1991,  R)
The Silence of the Lambs
I own this movie and watch it, and I even watch it when it is on tV! Anthony is soooo incredibly creepy, and Jodie is flawless and the virginian fledgling FBI agent, trying to stop a serial killer fom killing a senators daughter.
4
Braveheart (1995,  R)
Braveheart
One of the best movies ever made. Mel Gibson directs this story that tells the story of the Scots, and their troubles with the British Dominion. True enough not 100% accurate, this movie is wonderful, and so wonderfully touching. Gibsons speach to the Scottish rebellion set a precendent for every military epic movie to come, Troy, Alexander, 300, and even Elizabeth: The Golden age. Each one those flicks used a shouting, cage rattling message to get the troops "Pumped". Excellent.
5
28 Days Later (2003,  R)
28 Days Later
Quite simply one of the best horror movies in years. An experimental biological weapon is unleashed in Britain. It turns people into mindless, remorseless beastes, all in matter of seconds.Nothing scares me anymore, and this movie creeped me out! Great great horror movie. This movie showed, when all the cards are on the table, the old Native Indian saying comes into play. "you can't eat your money" , which translated means in the brutal world, the wilderness, money is worthless, when chaos is in power. You can't eat it, you can't defend yourself with it, it won't keep you warm or shelter you. This movie opened my eyes to that. It made me think of, what would I do, and sparked some great conversations between my friends and I.
6
Gran Torino (2009,  R)
Gran Torino
AMAZING! Eastwood is the greatest actor of the past 12 months, and one of the greatest directors of all time. He plays a recent widower who will always live life his way. He hold contept for almost every other culture, and people who are different from himself. He soon begins a reluctant relationship with an asian family. He mentors and befriends a young asian man, and plays classic Eastwood tough and even though he plays a tough old biggot, he is absolutley likeable. GO AND SEE THIS FLICK! Funny, exciting, and dramatic. Wonderful flick

28 Weeks Later... (2007,  R)
28 Weeks Later...
Wow, I saw this, and it was surprisingly well done, and evoked the same scary emotional responses from me. One could almost feel the mass hysteria. I wasn't sure what to think, I wondered if it was going to bend the rules or realities of the previous movie, but it didn't. I was just almost as creeped out watching this one as I was the first one.Great flick.
8
The Lion King (1994,  G)

What's Love Got To Do With It? (1993,  R)
What's Love Got To Do With It?
Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne are amazing as Ike and Tina Turner. This story covers The rock queens life story, and showing trials of not just women, but the struggles of colored (anyone, not considered caucasian)people. It covers the Queen of Rock's trials and hardships to reach the top again.
10
Misery (1990,  R)
Misery
Kathy is fabulous! she is wonderful, she demonstrated superior acting abilitly in this action thriller. An obsessed fan of a romance novelist holds the author captive. The author must overcome many hardships to stay alive.
11
Changeling (2008,  R)
Changeling
Quite simply the best movie I've seen all year. Jolie is in one of the best roles of her career. She plays a woman whos son goes missing while she is at work. Jolie is then presented with a child that is not hers, and police (trying desperately to have some good press) push for Jolie to accept this boy, even though the child is clearly not hers. When she refuses to cooperate with the police, she is "dsicplined" in an attempt to silence her. One goes through the motions of frustration, desperation, and sadness right along with the lead character.. Based on a true story, this movie is amazing. Not one part of this movie is boring, each part was essential no redundant, unessential scenes (the same can not be said of movies like "king kong" the ship scene was 20 minutes too long, and the plane scene on top of th building was 20 minutes too long, we get it , it was a long journey and a long battle) Changeling, serisously the best drama in the past few years. Cinematography is done is an almost drab, not so bright way, which adds to the old time feeling (movie takes place in the late 1920's to mid 1930's) Flawless.
Go and see this flick, bring plenty of tissue.
12
The Shawshank Redemption (1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
This movie is fabulous, and ironic.
13
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (1988,  PG-13)
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
Cheezy,Hammy and all around hilarious.Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) acts as the heiress to untold power, that she must keep from her evil uncle Vincent. The onliners are hysterical, and the acting questionable, but it is hilarious and entertaining. As Elvira says "she's more than just a great set of boobs, she had a great pair of legs too!" good movie.
14
Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987,  R)
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
I love John Candy, a pure wonderful comedic talent! RIP. This movie is one of the funniest ever. One of those movies I will watch over and over again, even when it's on tv. Candy plays a warm, caring, and unknowingly obnoxious, unwelcome travel companion. A great. comedic pairing. Martin plays a great uptight geek. It would be hard to not like this one.

21
Napoleon Dynamite (2004,  PG)
Napoleon Dynamite
Perhaps one of the stupidest movies ever made, but also one of the most brilliantly unique. This movie is in the tradition of television show Seinfeld, as it really os about nothing. The daily life of a delightlfully eccentric fellow named Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder)

The Missing
One of the best western movies in ages. We do not get too many westerns anymore, but when a well done western comes out, it certainly a pleasure. 49
Coal Miner's Daughter (1980,  PG)
Coal Miner's Daughter
This is the story of one of my favorite country singers life, the story of country Queen Loretta Lynn, and the break through film of Cissy Spaceck. Funny story Loretta herself picked Sissy to play her even before speaking to her and before she agree'd. Siss was actually angry but once the saw the redneck woman in person, she couldn't refuse, and this career defining film was created. I don't think Sissy lived up to the theatrical greatness of this movie, until "North County" Sissy, along with Lawrence Fishburn, Jamie Fox, and Resse Witherspoon, (Ike Turner, Ray Charles, and June Carter Cash) was born to this roles, much the same as the others were born to do theirs.
50

56
The Wizard of Oz (1939,  G)
The Wizard of Oz
One of my favorite movies of all time, I've loved this movie since the first saw it when I was 4.
Judy Garland was magical here. This is a career climax for any star, when you can not possibly improve on or act in anything that would remotely be as successful and has entrenched in the culture of the world. This was a trully cinamatic triumoph, effects were amazing from the time, anyone who watches it becomes totally immersed in its plot, and amazing set design. This movie defines the word escape as it really does take the mind to a different place. An essential for any DVD collection.
57

Along Came a Spider
Morgan Freeman is brilliant as usual in this film.

62
The Grudge (2004,  PG-13)
The Grudge
One of the very best horror movies to come out in ages. A japanese man kills his wife and the a bad spiritual imprint was left on the house. The movie was entertainin enough, very much in a "The Ring" vein. Creepy lady with long greasy black hair, moving very slowly towards you. I get it.
63
Little Big Man (1970,  PG)
Little Big Man
Dustin Hoffman is amazing in this movie. This is kind of like forest gump, only a few decades before it. In my opinion the best western ever.
64
Quarantine (2008,  R)
Quarantine
OUTSTANDING, absolutley awesome, it takes a lot to scare me, and this film does it. Realism scares me, and the gonzo nature of this film made this almost real to me. Think Blair witch project, meets 28 days later. These movies both scared the beejeezuz out of me. The moving of the camera made one feel as though they were apart of the situation, it seemed almost interactive. Jenn Carpenter is quite an under rated actress, she was hysterical at times, and you could almost feel the urgency. Imagine being locked in a building, and there is a disease (an aggressive form of rabies) is ravaging the population of the building, and turning the people into uncontrollable, unreasonable monsters (28 days later). To make things worse, should have missed this, and you can not leave. I was absolutley riveted. See this, perhaps the greatest horror of the last 3 years.
65
Driving Miss Daisy (1989,  PG)
Driving Miss Daisy

73
Gridiron Gang (2006,  PG-13)
Gridiron Gang

Knocked Up
Hysterically funny, with a decent message. I love it
76
La grande séduction (Seducing Doctor Lewis) (2004,  Unrated)
La grande séduction (Seducing Doctor Lewis)
I loved this movie. Though a budget movie, it is done in a understated fashion, and works well with the types of people in the plot (low income people) the budget flick adds to that authenticity, and charm. The film is entirely in French. This little french fishing village is in desperate need of a doctor, and they are listening to a visiting Doctor's conversations to find out what he likes....and they try to replicate that for him. The movie is hysterical.
77
Citizen Ruth (1996,  R)
Citizen Ruth
As far as I am concerned this is Laura Derns best acting performance. I find Laura can a little hammy sometimes in the acting departmen, but here she acts has taken a different pace. Shes not this cultured caring lady, Laura plays Ruth , a drug addicted woman who had become pregnant. When she is arrested for doing drugs she is told by the judge that if she aborts the baby he will drop charges placed against her. The christian church gets involved and a war ensues between Prolife and prochoice groups. Laura holds the balance of power as a symbol that can shift authority for either group. Hilarious. Most memorable line by Ruth (Dern) "Suck the sh** out of my A**! you Fu****!" and even more hilarious is Kurtwood Smith (Red Foreman, that 70's show) portraying a bible thuimper, singing cheezy little hymns and working at a hardware store.
78
My Cousin Vinny (1992,  R)
My Cousin Vinny
I can watch this movie over and over again. Joe Pesci stars as a rugged, but intelligent lawyer takes on his cousins murder trial, with hilarious consequences. Tomei and rest of the cast are great.
79
Fallen (1997,  R)
Fallen
One great flick. Its on like one-three times a week seriously, and I watch it. I am surprised I haven't reviewed it earlier. Washington plays a homocide detective, who witnesses an execution of a serial killer. He starts to discover the killer though executed may actually not be dead, completely. The spirit of the killer is still on the loose, able embody anyone it wishes, and this spirit loves the stones song "Time on my side" (which you will is a perfect theme for this wandering spirit. This spirit starts stalking Washington, and coming very close, and Washington is helpless to do anything about it. Once the spirit leaves the body, the host has no recollection of the events that had just occured. Whats really neat is that fact that the movie narrated not by Washington, but by the spirit. Great flick.
