Leprechaun 3 Leprechaun 3 R
Leprechaun 3 is not a great movie, in fact none of the Leprechaun films are good. ou only watch one to see how absurd it can get or just for the Leprechaun himself. Each movie is fun and isn't meant to be taken seriously. The idea of a Leprechaun killing people for his gold is meant to be laughed at and enjoyed for what it is.

In the third installment in the Leprechaun franchise, we find Scott, an underage gambler who has been snuck into the casino by his friend Tammy. Scott is told not to gamble but quickly does and loses all of his money. He finds a Leprechaun's coin and makes a wish. Soon, the Leprechaun is back and is killing everyone who touches his coin.

This one's a little different from the previous two. It introduces new mythology and folklore like: if bitten by a Leprechaun you can turn into one and if you find a Leprechaun's coin, you get one wish. The characters exploit the latter many times in this movie. Many of them wish for whatever they want but are soon met by the evil dwarf.

I liked the sequels more than the original movie only because they are more fun and have a more entertaining atmosphere. The Leprechaun, played again by Warwick Davis is funny as hell and is always enjoyable. This one also stars Caroline Williams from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 fame. She does an excellent job in her role and so do many of the other actors, even though most of the acting is horrible.

The death scenes in this movie are funny much like the deaths in The Nightmare on Elm Street sequels. They are mildly gory but are nothing compared to deaths in something like Dawn of the Dead. Out of the three Leprechaun movies I`ve seen this one is probably the goriest but the movie does not solely focus on the violence element.

I`ve seen the first three Leprechaun movies and I think I like this one the most just because it`s so damn fun. The Leprechaun in Las Vegas is great. The plot is decent and the deaths are alright. The thing that I really like about these movies are the soundtracks. The old Irish tunes playing during the credit sequences and the fast paced music during the scenes with the Leprechaun really make these movies special.

Blue Sunshine Blue Sunshine R
What a movie! This one has the perfect 1970's vibe to it. It perfecly shows how drugs can effect one's mind and how they can lead one to do viscious and malicious acts towards loved ones. During the hippie movement, Lieberman's Blue Sunshine would have been the greatest anti-drug message of the era.

The film follows Gerry Zipkin, a man falsely accused of mudering four people at a party. Most of the movie consists of Zipkin trying to prove his innocence and to find out what is making all of these people lose their hair and go insane. The police believe Gerry to be guilty until his girlfriend can prove his innocence. In the midst of all this, Ed Flemming, future congressman is running for the spot. Zpikin quickly finds out about his past and that he has links to the mysterious Blue Sunshine. . .

The movie doesn't revolve around violence or gore or barely any blood. It's just a suspenseful and atmospheric ride to the end. The audience waits for the moment when the users of 'Blue Sunshine' go crazy. Trust me, it happens more then once and each time it's even more creepy then the last. The final moments in the disco tech are both cheesy as well as suspenseful and are prime 70's.

Although it doesn't sound very creepy, a bald character with huge eyes can surprisingly be quite eerie. The effect is so well done that it is almost as creepy as the original zombies in Romero's Night of the Living Dead. One scene in particular involves a middle aged woman who quickly loses her mind (and hair) while babysitting. The scene rapidly evolves from a friendly atmosphere to a chaotic one when the bald woman grabs a kitchen knife and chases the two children around the house with it. The whole time, the audience is wondering if they will see the two children get killed.

Overall, the movie is not overly bloody, there are perhaps two or three scenes that involve blood or violence in general. Although this does not make Blue Sunshine a horrible movie. I personally liked the days when a movie relied on minimal blood instead of boring CGI blood and gore.

The setting is similar to that of Dawn of the Dead. Many scenes take place in a mall. In a 70's movie, a mall is one of the best places to set a movie. There is a definate feel on claustrophobia and isolation but at the same time, a feeling of joy and happiness. Complete opposites which make this movie so perfect.

I would reccomend Blue Sunshine to a fan of Dawn of the Dead and any fan of 70's horror.

Suspiria Suspiria R
I was simply amazed when I first watched this movie. And to this date it is still one of the most played movies in my collection. Everything about it is perfect in every way possible. The score, tone, atmosphere, plot, acting, gore, colours, set design. The whole thing is like an orchestra, it just all falls into place and has a beautiful feeling. Ever since watching it, Dario Argento has been one of my favorite directors. Although this has to be his masterpiece. The movie is basically about an American dance student who travels to a bizarre European ballet school. While she is there, strange murders occur, maggots fall from the ceiling, and people start acting weird. By the end of the movie, the audience finds out that the academy is run by a coven of witches. The plot is quite simple but is shockingly original. What makes this movie effectively creepy and authentic is it's score, composed by prg-rock group Goblin. The score which is very catchy has an eerie tone to it and is probably my favorite horror movie score. Another element that makes this film so entriguing is Argento's use of colours. As Eli Roth perfectly stated: "Argento puts the gore in gorgeous." and that he does. Perfectly. Which brings me to another point . . . gore. Another element that makes any Argento movie authentic is his use of gore. Suspiria isn't shy on this element. The first major scene and probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen filmed is a grisly murder in which a wman is stabbed until her heart is visible, she is then hanged and falls through a beautiful stanied glass roof. As well, a blind man is attacked and has his throat bitten out by his guide dog and a girl falls into a pit of barbed wire and then has her throat slit. All together, this film is something of a masterpiece and any cinema lover, horror or not, must see Suspiria. This is probably one of the most original and amazing films I have ever seen. 10/10
