| Brüno (Bruno) - R |
COMMENTS: Some classic one liners, plenty of shock value for those that live there life in a bottle!!! REVIEW: Bruno, only in a America this can work so well. Absolutely hilarious mockumentary of a gay Austrian who has a fall from grace in his homeland and sets out like every aspiring wannabe, heads to LA to become famous. Lots of cringe moments, classic one liners and easily offends every outspoken so called libetarians in the search of being famous or infamous which of course doesnt matter. I enjoyed him taking the piss and trying to break the shackles of people staunch views. Highlights, definitely the one liners the green midget scene, the talk show, carbo love lock, shooting in alabama to the UFC. All worth a watch once if you can handle satire to the extreme. Obviously being a big fan of the Ali-G show back in its day, and all the great interviews he use to do with important people, i was prepared for the shock value and even the front on nudity, sadly will take some time to erase, if ever lol... RESULT: 4/5 cause i think he does an amazing job and incredibly brave but stupid places, I am surprised he didnt get bashed to death a few times!!! |

| Paranormal Activity - R |
I gotta pay homage to the guys that have done so well from this handicam self made documentary. It pretty well goes to every adolescent boys script from start to finish. It draws it source of inspiration from all the films i grew up scaring me as kid, The Amytiville ( the originals, not the comedy), The Exorcist and possibly a bit from The Exorcism of Emily Rose and morphed with I guess Blair Witch or Cloverfield for effect with camera. For me it wasnt that scarey, i guess as a kid this is how i would have written it, I wish I had lol and im sure theres a lot of us out there, that should be picking up HD DVD Camera and start rolling out the ideas. It works, as the main two characters are quite likeable and that gets you staying with it, even though its a little slow at the start. But really for 15k, that is amazing effort and you wish they had the chance to do it with a bigger budget, so they could have expanded on there ideas. Definitely worth a watch for fans of this genre, I didnt find myself flinching but I know there would be plenty out there that would. Alternatively if your into this genre, watch 'The Exorcist'first then this and Exorcism of Emily Rose after. That should keep the adrenaline going all night. The whole 3am still creeps me out from Emily Rose and was good to see that they drew on that here or from research about Paranormal Activity or i think from memory the witching hour!!! |

COMMENT: Michael Jai White - Damn hes one of the best things I have seen in a long time. REVIEW: Damn this is one of the best Martial Arts Street Fighting Flicks I have seen in a long time. MIchael Jai White ( 7 Karate Style Black Belts ) was unbelievable. This was everything that rubbish flick Fighting should have been. I look forward to seeing him in future flicks If you wanna see some amazing fighting, than see this. I cant speak highly enough of this film. Also Kimbo stars in this flick of street fighting fame with some other great performances supporting. |

| Blood: The Last Vampire - R |
Fairly poor story line for vampire/samurai flick but surprisingly good choreography for the samurai scenes. Saya (Wang Ji-Hyun or Gianna Jun) lead samurai does a pretty good job considering whats she been given. Hope to see her again plus Koyuki for a small role was incredibly beautiful to watch ( from Last Samurai) and Yasuaki Kurata as Kato always impresses. Damn that dude can still move for 60 plus ( Fist of Legend with jet Li - great marital arts flick and probably Jet Li's best for me) Definitely for samurai fans. Usually i beat up action flicks with there over the top action, so i should do that here but i wont, cause i love samurais. Looks like a fairly small budget and really they should have left and CGI alone ( was terrible) but for fans of this genre worth a watch for the fighting and a couple of hot chicks. |

| G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - PG-13 | Some great action, but the story, dialogue was bloody awful. | September 10, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Management - R |
COMMENT: This one flew under the radar and was surprisingly good, quite touching in parts, some good laughs and was a lot better after trying to watch GI Joe REVIEW: Romantic little comedy about saleswoman, on the road and stays at this dumpy little motel. Whilst there the night manager does his best to get to know her, you expect creepy but you get a tinge of a genuine nice guy, little town behind his interest. So a few unexpected things happen and he pursues her. Great Cameos by Harrelson and James Hiroyuki Liao, all in all a nice little surprise package of film. Really enjoyed Aniston and Zahn together. |

| Crank 2: High Voltage - R | Sorry this was absolutely crap for me. I like an action film but this was appalling. Script was awful and such great stars reduced to a C grade flick. Just another cash in from the first film. Should be renamed to Crock! | September 7, 2009 | N/A | |||
| District 9 - R |
COMMENT: Had hoped that they would do the Halo movie together but this is what Jackson and Blomkamp have come up with. Looks interesting but i still think Halo could have been out of this world!!!! Now that I have watched it, 30M budget, no big name actors... I hope FOX give the guys that didn't pony up for the money for Halo an alien pulse rifle shot to the head, as District 9 was awesome for a low budget film. REVIEW: Peter Jackson is really continuing to blow my mind and for 90% of this doco style flick that has the aliens making first contact, would you believe outside the USA ( finally ) The only downside is listening to the South African accent, it just grinds away at you. It most definitely answers all the questions of a plausible scenario of first contact. Sure there are few holes in theory but i was more than happy to go with Blomkamp's direction for this film. What did blow my mind was the second part of this film, when we got to see some action. The CGI was amazing. Finally a blockbuster film on a shoe string budget that pulls the pants down on Transformers 2. |

| State of Play - PG-13 |
COMMENT: Great cast but really a waste of talent for a film like this, dont get me wrong i love political thrillers, conspiracy theories etc... but the subject matter was boring, the twist was predictable and Affleck cant act. REVIEW: Short and sweet, this one, great cast, well acted. Story was boring. So over Affleck, i like the guy but you could replace him with a stick figure and you get more out of it! |

| Fighting - PG-13 |
COMMENT: With a title like that, you would think this movie would be pretty lame. I mean you think they could at least try to name it. Whats next - Insert Title. REVIEW: Surprisingly this was a lot better than expected. I have to say mainly due to Tatum and Howard. Sure the script is no bellringer, or the story line but they keep the film interesting enough, i was curious to see how the events played out. Sure its a poor mans Rocky with bare fisted fights, but still worth the ride if you like this sort of thing. When i first say Tatum in Stop Loss, i sort understood this kid was going to be box office gold. He certainly got something that stands out and Howard is something special. Definitely a rent out, wouldnt pay hard cash for it. I hustled my copy haha. |

| 12 Rounds - PG-13 |
COMMENT: Its ridiculous, but an enjoyable ride from Harlin who likes to push the envelope with future action star Cena. REVIEW: I guess if your fan of the wrestling, then you will love Cena. I've never really cared for any of that but i did enjoy his first film The Marine. Sure it was a B grade flick but there is something about Cena, you just cant help but like the guy and sure he wont win any academy awards but hey Arnie never did either and he was one of the biggest grossing actors of his time. So with in mind I really think Cena can carry on this mantle in some respect. I like the guy, i really enjoyed this film for what it is, pure entertainment. |

| X-Men Origins - Wolverine - PG-13 |
THE COMMENT: I really want to love these films, the characters are awesome but always feel like after the film is over, that I am wanting a little more... Wolverine is a great character, shame the film doesn't give him more to sink his claws into THE REVIEW: X Men the movies, I would sum up in saying an above average franchise and can see why it was important to add more filler to the franchise with Wolverines story, its just a shame that its just not that interesting to watch. Sure the CGI is impressive, Hugh Jackman is impressive but just felt the storyline was a little dull, and I am constantly wanting more filler to these films. Sure its beautifully tied in with the X Men films but would have preferred that they spent more time developing his character with a couple of films before we got to Mutant School!!! Somewhere between what they did with Watchmen ( a film that went to far for me in that department, so i am harsh critic lol). So in summary, once again a solid film worth the watch for fans of the series. For me its a film that i will most likely wont ever watch again, but then again i haven't watched any of the X Men films since either. |

| The Last House on the Left - R |
THE COMMENT: Not sure if it was worth remaking even though it was worth the watch. I will say it was good to see Wes Cravens, finally making a solid film again. THE REVIEW: The film certainly goes for shock value with the scene in the forest. It had me even squirming and that takes some doing. It most definitely felt very real and not something as an actor I would like to do. So sure for a guy thats probably watched a lot of horror it was a little disturbing. So was that idea, to shock. I am sure it was. So getting past that the film was edited nicely, rolled along but really wasn't spectacular. The acting was solid and certainly becoming a fan of Dillahunt, I hope he gets more roles especially a little less creepy. All in all - a solid remake for the shock/horror fan on a slow DVD night. |
